This article presents the work methodology applied and a detailed overview of the finds dating back to antiquity; it also contains a catalogue of the finds from both excavations

Radi se o većoj količini amfora okomito zakopanih u tlo, pronađenih in situ. Autor donosi analogije s ostalim intervencijama u prostoru u smislu sekundarne upotrebe arheološkog materijala (amfora) na inozemnim i domaćim lokalitetima. The author presents the results of the rescue excavations carried out at Ždrijac site near Nin in 2016, prior to the construction work along the route of the future suction pipe for the hatchery of Cromaris Ltd Company. The finds include a large number of amphorae buried upright in the ground, found in situ. The author also presents analogies with other spatial alterations associated with reuse of archaeological material (amphorae) at international and local sites

The authors have analyzed the archaeological finds from a Late Antiquity shipwreck off the coast of the island of Kaprije. The finds – that mostly include amphorae – have been scientifically analyzed and dated, thus helping establish the time of the shipwreck. Other pottery and the elements of the ship’s hull were found in the quantities that do not allow more precise dating based on specific shapes and analogies

Preliminary excavations indicated it was a spacious port with a breakwater. The cultural layer is very rich and offers an insight into intensive trade and cultural connections. This paper analyzes the archaeological finds of Eastern Mediterranean production, terra sigillata B, collected during excavations of the Roman port of Zaton. The shapes, size and subtypes of 16 types of vessels are typologically compared. Based on different dimensions and shapes and their versions and taking into account the quality of clay, representative specimens of every form are singled out and graphically presented in plates (Pl.) as combinations of drawings and photographs. Prominent among these pottery finds are vessel bases with pottery stamps on the inside. These bases are presented in seven tables (Tab.), each with a photograph and outlines of its stamp. The graffiti carved on the outer, sometimes on the inner, side of the vessels are drawn in the plates (Pl.).

The breakwater has been excavated a number of times since 1968. and to date is the most researched Roman harbor in Croatia. While only a minor portion of the breakwater and the surrounding area have been excavated, the site yielded huge amounts of finds, and 3 wrecks – two seriliae, and a wooden ship built by a contemporary Roman shipbuilding technique. The most common finds are the pottery sherds, and a large number of amphora fragments. These amphorae originate from almost every corner of the Roman Empire – Betica and Galia in the west, Italy, the Eastern Mediterranean provinces, and North Africa, while among the finds are some local eastern Adriatic variants . Only finds from the excavations conducted in 2002 and later years come from a (arbitrary) stratified context. Although a small portion of the harbor is excavated, the focus of this article is to determine the kind of amphorae that were passing through the harbor. Certainly, this by no way completes the picture of amphora transport through the harbor. It gives us however a general understanding of the trade that occurred in the harbor from the 1st to the 4th century, and some indications of the possible nature of the cargo.

Such findings are often neglected in publications, but do not change the form of its existence through time. This article deals with material collected from stratigraphic excavations at the Zaton port during six years of excavations (2002-2011). The excavations are grouped typologically, and are statistically distributed in layers and squares. A catalogue list of inventory numbers is also provided, and some conclusions have been made
