About Us
Think beyond the books. Learn by doing.
The Aresty Research Center's mission is to support undergraduate research at Rutgers University. Our undergraduates have the opportunity to explore the process of research, as well as connect with faculty mentors and projects that aid in defining their research goals. Aresty provides a platform for students to support their research through funding as well as present their findings university-wide during our annual symposium. Over 1,500 faculty members across all academic disciplines have partnered with Aresty and continue to collaborate with our Center to identify undergraduate students to serve as research assistants as well as to secure student funding in research. We invite you to visit us and learn more about how you can participate in research at Rutgers through Aresty.
Our Goals
- To foster student curiosity about and participation in the process of research;
- To facilitate mentoring relationships between faculty and students;
- To expose a wider audience beyond the university to undergraduate research products;
- To serve as a clearinghouse of undergraduate research opportunities at Rutgers-New Brunswick;
- To support the incorporation of research experiences in the classroom.
Our History
The Aresty Research Center was founded in 2004 with a generous donation by Mr. and Mrs. Jerome and Lorraine Aresty. Since our inception, we have worked with over 2,000 students and 1,500 faculty, and have provided approximately $2.2 million in support of undergraduate research. We are continuing to extend our reach into the university community by helping faculty find great undergraduate researchers and supporting student-led research projects.
