We present version 3 of SmeftFR, a Mathematica package designed to generate the Feynman rules for the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) including the complete set of gauge invariant operators up to dimension-6 and the complete set of bosonic operators of dimension-8. Feynman rules are generated with the use of FeynRules package, directly in the physical (mass eigenstates) basis for all fields. The complete set of interaction vertices can be derived, including all or any chosen subset of SMEFT operators. As an option, the user can also choose preferred gauge fixing, generating Feynman rules in unitary or $R_ξ$-gauges. The novel feature in version-3 of SmeftFR is its ability to calculate SMEFT interactions consistently up to dimension-8 in EFT expansion (including quadratic dimension-6 terms) and express the vertices directly in terms of user-defined set of input-parameters. The derived Lagrangian in the mass basis can be exported in various formats supported by FeynRules, such as UFO, FeynArts etc. Initialisation of numerical values of Wilson coefficients of higher dimension operators is interfaced to WCxf format. The package also includes a dedicated Latex generator allowing to print the result in clear human-readable form. The SmeftFR v3 is publicly available at www.fuw.edu.pl/smeft.

In this study we present a universal effective action for one-loop matching of all scalar leptoquarks. We use both the Universal One-Loop Effective Action (UOLEA) and covariant diagrams to evaluate the Wilson coefficients directly in the Green basis for up-to dimension-6 operators. On the technical side, we use the newly developed method of evaluating supertraces, to further validate the results stemming from the use of covariant diagrams. As an application, we perform a fully functional matching onto Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) of a model with two scalar leptoquark fields: a weak isospin singlet and a doublet. We demonstrate its use by calculating several observables, such as lepton magnetic and electric dipole moments, neutrino masses, proton decay rate, while we comment upon fine tuning issues in this model. Apart from its phenomenological interest, this model generates the majority of dimension-6 operators and provides an EFT benchmark towards future matching automation.

The assumption that the Standard Model is an Effective Field Theory (SM EFT) of a more fundamental theory at a higher, than electroweak, energy scale, implies a growth of cross-sections for electroweak Vector Boson Scattering (VBS) processes signalling the appearance of a resonance (or resonances) nearby that scale. In this article, we investigate in detail SM EFT effects from dimension-6 operators in VBS with like-sign-$W$ production in fully leptonic decay modes at the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC). We find that these effects are important for a handful of operators, most notably for the operator composed of three $SU(2)$ field strength tensors responsible for strong transversely polarized vector boson interactions. Current global fits on Wilson-coefficients allow for a signal immediately permissive at the HL-LHC if not accessible at the current LHC-dataset.

We propose a procedure to cross-validate Monte Carlo implementations of the standard model effective field theory. It is based on the numerical comparison of squared amplitudes computed at specific phase-space and parameter points in pairs of implementations. Interactions are fully linearised in the effective field theory expansion. The squares of linear effective field theory amplitudes and their interference with standard-model contributions are compared separately. Such pairwise comparisons are primarily performed at tree level and a possible extension to the one-loop level is also briefly considered. We list the current standard model effective field theory implementations and the comparisons performed to date.

We calculate the $S$-matrix element for the Higgs boson decay to a $Z$-boson and a photon, $h\to Zγ$, at one-loop in the Standard-Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) framework and in linear $R_ξ$-gauges. Our SMEFT expansion includes all relevant operators up to dimension-6 considered in Warsaw basis without resorting to any flavour or CP-conservation assumptions. Within this approximation there are 23 dimension-6 operators affecting the amplitude, not including flavour and hermitian conjugation. The result for the on-shell $h\to Zγ$ amplitude is gauge invariant, renormalisation-scale invariant and gauge-fixing parameter independent. The calculated ratio of the SMEFT versus the SM expectation for the $h\to Zγ$ decay width is then written in a semi-numerical form which is useful for further comparisons with related processes. For example, the $h\to Zγ$ amplitude contains 16 operators in common with the $h\to γγ$ amplitude and one can draw useful results about its feasibility at current and future LHC data.

Assuming that new physics effects are parametrized by the Standard-Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) written in a complete basis of up to dimension-6 operators, we calculate the CP-conserving one-loop amplitude for the decay $h\to γγ$ in general $R_ξ$-gauges. We employ a simple renormalisation scheme that is hybrid between on-shell SM-like renormalised parameters and running $\overline{\mathrm{MS}}$ Wilson coefficients. The resulting amplitude is then finite, renormalisation scale invariant, independent of the gauge choice ($ξ$) and respects SM Ward identities. Remarkably, the $S$-matrix amplitude calculation resembles very closely the one usually known from renormalisable theories and can be automatised to a high degree. We use this gauge invariant amplitude and recent LHC data to check upon sensitivity to various Wilson coefficients entering from a more complete theory at the matching energy scale. We present a closed expression for the ratio $\mathcal{R}_{h\to γγ}$, of the Beyond the SM versus the SM contributions as appeared in LHC $h\to γγ$ searches. The most important contributions arise at tree level from the operators $Q_{\varphi B}, Q_{\varphi W}, Q_{\varphi WB}$, and at one-loop level from the dipole operators $Q_{uB},Q_{uW}$. Our calculation shows also that, for operators that appear at tree level in SMEFT, one-loop corrections can modify their contributions by less than 10%. Wilson coefficients corresponding to these five operators are bounded from current LHC $h\to γγ$ data -- in some cases an order of magnitude stronger than from other searches. Finally, we correct results that appeared previously in the literature.

We assume that New Physics effects are parametrized within the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) written in a complete basis of gauge invariant operators up to dimension 6, commonly referred to as "Warsaw basis". We discuss all steps necessary to obtain a consistent transition to the spontaneously broken theory and several other important aspects, including the BRST-invariance of the SMEFT action for linear $R_ξ$-gauges. The final theory is expressed in a basis characterized by SM-like propagators for all physical and unphysical fields. The effect of the non-renormalizable operators appears explicitly in triple or higher multiplicity vertices. In this mass basis we derive the complete set of Feynman rules, without resorting to any simplifying assumptions such as baryon-, lepton-number or CP conservation. As it turns out, for most SMEFT vertices the expressions are reasonably short, with a noticeable exception of those involving 4, 5 and 6 gluons. We have also supplemented our set of Feynman rules, given in an appendix here, with a publicly available Mathematica code working with the FeynRules package and producing output which can be integrated with other symbolic algebra or numerical codes for automatic SMEFT amplitude calculations.

We present a Peccei-Quinn (PQ)-symmetric two-Higgs doublet model that naturally predicts a fermionic singlet dark matter in the mass range 10 keV-1 GeV. The origin of the smallness of the mass of this light singlet fermion arises predominantly at the one-loop level, upon soft or spontaneous breakdown of the PQ symmetry via a complex scalar field in a fashion similar to the so-called Dine-Fischler-Sredniki-Zhitnitsky axion model. The mass generation of this fermionic Radiative Light Dark Matter (RLDM) requires the existence of two heavy vector-like SU(2) isodoublets, which are not charged under the PQ symmetry. We show how the RLDM can be produced via the freeze-in mechanism, thus accounting for the missing matter in the Universe. Finally, we briefly discuss possible theoretical and phenomenological implications of the RLDM model for the strong CP problem and the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

A discrete symmetry guarantees that a linear combination of the doublet components is stable and can act as a candidate particle for Dark Matter. The dark sector fermions interact with the Higgs and gauge bosons through renormalizable $d=4$ operators, and non-renormalizable $d=5$ operators that appear after integrating out extra degrees of freedom above the TeV scale. We study collider, cosmological and astrophysical probes for this effective theory of Dark Matter. We find that a WIMP with a mass nearby to the electroweak scale, and thus observable at LHC, is consistent with collider and astrophysical data only when fairly large magnetic dipole moment transition operators with the gauge bosons exist, together with moderate Yukawa interactions.

We present and prove a theorem of matrix analysis, the Flavour Expansion Theorem (or FET), according to which, an analytic function of a Hermitian matrix can be expanded polynomially in terms of its off-diagonal elements with coefficients being the divided differences of the analytic function and arguments the diagonal elements of the Hermitian matrix. The theorem is applicable in case of flavour changing amplitudes. At one-loop level this procedure is particularly natural due to the observation that every loop function in the Passarino-Veltman basis can be recursively expressed in terms of divided differences. FET helps to algebraically translate an amplitude written in mass eigenbasis into flavour mass insertions, without performing diagrammatic calculations in flavour basis. As a non-trivial application of FET up to a third order, we demonstrate its use in calculating strong bounds on the real parts of flavour changing mass insertions in the up- squark sector of the MSSM from neutron Electric Dipole Moment (nEDM) measurements, assuming that CP-violation arises only from the CKM matrix.

In full one-loop generality and in next-to-leading order in QCD, we study rare top to Higgs boson flavour changing decay processes $t\to q h$ with $q=u,c$ quarks, in the general MSSM with R-parity conservation. Our primary goal is to search for enhanced effects on $Br(t\to q h)$ that could be visible at current and high luminosity LHC running. To this end, we perform an analytical expansion of the amplitude in terms of flavour changing squark mass insertions that treats both cases of hierarchical and degenerate squark masses in a unified way. We identify two enhanced effects allowed by various constraints: one from holomorphic trilinear soft SUSY breaking terms and/or right handed up squark mass insertions and another from non-holomorphic trilinear soft SUSY breaking terms and light Higgs boson masses. Interestingly, even with $\mathcal{O}(1)$ flavour violating effects in the, presently unconstrained, up-squark sector, SUSY effects on $Br(t\to q h)$ come out to be unobservable at LHC mainly due to leading order cancellations between penguin and self energy diagrams and the constraints from charge- and colour-breaking minima (CCB) of the MSSM vacuum. An exception to this conclusion may be effects arising from non-holomorphic soft SUSY breaking terms in the region where the CP-odd Higgs mass is smaller than the top-quark mass but this scenario is disfavoured by recent LHC searches. Our calculations for $t\to q h$ decay are made available in SUSY_FLAVOR numerical library.

We extend the Standard Model (SM) by adding a pair of fermionic SU(2)-doublets with opposite hypercharge and a fermionic SU(2)-triplet with zero hypercharge. We impose a discrete Z_2-symmetry that distinguishes the SM fermions from the new ones. Then, gauge invariance allows for two renormalizable Yukawa couplings between the new fermions and the SM Higgs field, as well as for direct masses for the doublet (M_D) and the triplet (M_T). After electroweak symmetry breaking, this model contains, in addition to SM particles, two charged Dirac fermions and a set of three neutral Majorana fermions, the lightest of which contributes to Dark Matter (DM). We consider a case where the lightest neutral fermion is an equal admixture of the two doublets with mass M_D close to the Z-boson mass. This state remains stable under radiative corrections thanks to a custodial SU(2)-symmetry and is consistent with the experimental data from oblique electroweak corrections. Moreover, the amplitudes relevant to spin-dependent or independent nucleus-DM particle scattering cross section both vanish at tree level. They arise at one loop at a level that may be observed in near future DM direct detection experiments. For Yukawa couplings comparable to the top-quark, the DM particle relic abundance is consistent with observation, not relying on co-annihilation or resonant effects and has a mass at the electroweak scale. Furthermore, the heavier fermions decay to the DM particle and to electroweak gauge bosons making this model easily testable at the LHC. In the regime of interest, the charged fermions suppress the Higgs decays to diphoton by 45-75 % relative to SM prediction.

In this work, we review and clarify computational issues about the W-gauge boson one-loop contribution to the H -> gamma gamma decay amplitude, in the unitary gauge and in the Standard Model. We find that highly divergent integrals depend upon the choice of shifting momenta with arbitrary vectors. One particular combination of these arbitrary vectors reduces the superficial divergency down to a logarithmic one. The remaining ambiguity is then fixed by exploiting gauge invariance and the Goldstone Boson Equivalence Theorem. Our method is strictly realised in four-dimensions. The result for the amplitude agrees with the "famous" one obtained using dimensional regularisation (DR) in the limit d-> 4, where d is the number of spatial dimensions in Euclidean space. At the exact equality d=4, a three-sphere surface term appears that renders the Ward Identities and the equivalence theorem inconsistent. We also examined a recently proposed four-dimensional regularisation scheme and found agreement with the DR outcome.

Within a spontaneously broken gauge group we carefully analyse and calculate triple gauge boson vertices dominated by triangle one-loop Feynman diagrams involving heavy fermions compared to external momenta and gauge boson masses. We perform our calculation strictly in four dimensions and derive a general formula for the off-shell, one-particle irreducible (1PI) effective vertex which satisfies the relevant Ward Identities and the Goldstone boson equivalence theorem. Our goal is to search for non-decoupling heavy fermion effects highlighting their synergy with gauge chiral anomalies. Particularly in the Standard Model, we find that when the arbitrary anomaly parameters are fixed by gauge invariance and/or Bose symmetry, the heavy fermion contribution cancels its anomaly contribution leaving behind anomaly and mass independent contributions from the light fermions. We apply these results in calculating the corresponding CP-invariant one-loop induced corrections to triple gauge boson vertices in the SM, minimal $Z'$models as well as their extensions with a fourth fermion generation, and compare with experimental data.

Motivated by recent cosmic ray experimental results there has been a proposition for a scenario where a secluded dark matter particle annihilates, primarily, into Standard Model leptons through a low mass mediator particle. We consider several varieties of this scenario depending on the type of mixing among gauge bosons and we study the implications in novel direct dark matter experiments for detecting low energy recoiling electrons. We find significant event rates and time modulation effects, especially in the case where the mediator is massless, that may be complementary to those from recoiling nuclei.

During the last few years the Tevatron has dramatically improved the bounds on rare B-meson decays into two leptons. In the case of B_s --> mu+ mu-, the current bound is only ten times greater than the Standard Model expectation. Sensitivity to this decay is one of the benchmark goals for LHCb performance and physics. The Higgs penguin dominates this rate in the region of large tan(beta) of the MSSM. This is not necessarily the case in the region of low tan(beta), since box and Z-penguin diagrams may contribute at a comparable rate. In this article, we compute the complete one-loop MSSM contribution to B --> l+l'- for l,l' = e, mu. We study the predictions for general values of tan(beta) with arbitrary flavour mixing parameters. We discuss the possibility of both enhancing and suppressing the branching ratios relative to their Standard Model expectations. In particular, we find that there are "cancellation regions" in parameter space where the branching ratio is suppressed well below the Standard Model expectation, making it effectively invisible to the LHC.

Phenomenological implications of a minimal extension to the Standard Model are considered, in which a Nambu-Goldstone boson emerges from the spontaneous breaking of a global U(1) symmetry. This is felt only by a scalar field which is a singlet under all Standard Model symmetries, and possibly by neutrinos. Mixing between the Standard Model Higgs boson field and the new singlet field may lead to predominantly invisible Higgs boson decays. The "natural" region in the Higgs boson mass spectrum is determined, where this minimally extended Standard Model is a valid theory up to a high scale related with the smallness of neutrino masses. Surprisingly, this region may coincide with low visibility of all Higgs bosons at the LHC. Monte-Carlo simulation studies of this "nightmare" situation are performed and strategies to search for such Higgs boson to invisible (Nambu-Goldstone boson) decays are discussed. It is possible to improve the signal-to-background ratio by looking at the distribution of either the total transverse momentum of the leptons and the missing transverse momentum, or by looking at the distribution of the azimuthal angle between the missing transverse momentum and the momentum of the lepton pair for the Z- and Higgs-boson associated production. We also study variations of the model with non-Abelian symmetries and present approximate formulae for Higgs boson decay rates. Searching for Higgs bosons in such a scenario at the LHC would most likely be solely based on Higgs to "invisible" decays.

With the advent of the LHC, we will be able to probe New Physics (NP) up to energy scales almost one order of magnitude larger than it has been possible with present accelerator facilities. While direct detection of new particles will be the main avenue to establish the presence of NP at the LHC, indirect searches will provide precious complementary information, since most probably it will not be possible to measure the full spectrum of new particles and their couplings through direct production. In particular, precision measurements and computations in the realm of flavour physics are expected to play a key role in constraining the unknown parameters of the Lagrangian of any NP model emerging from direct searches at the LHC. The aim of Working Group 2 was twofold: on one hand, to provide a coherent, up-to-date picture of the status of flavour physics before the start of the LHC; on the other hand, to initiate activities on the path towards integrating information on NP from high-pT and flavour data.

The seesaw-extended MSSM provides a framework in which the observed light neutrino masses and mixing angles can be generated in the context of a natural theory for the TeV-scale. Sneutrino-mixing phenomena provide valuable tools for connecting the physics of neutrinos and supersymmetry. We examine the theoretical structure of the seesaw-extended MSSM, retaining the full complexity of three generations of neutrinos and sneutrinos. In this general framework, new flavor-changing and CP-violating sneutrino processes are allowed, and are parameterized in terms of two $3\times 3$ matrices that respectively preserve and violate lepton number. The elements of these matrices can be bounded by analyzing the rate for rare flavor-changing decays of charged leptons and the one-loop contribution to neutrino masses. In the former case, new contributions arise in the seesaw extended model which are not present in the ordinary MSSM. In the latter case, sneutrino--antisneutrino mixing generates the leading correction at one-loop to neutrino masses, and could provide the origin of the observed texture of the light neutrino mass matrix. Finally, we derive general formulae for sneutrino--antisneutrino oscillations and sneutrino flavor-oscillations. Unfortunately, neither oscillation phenomena is likely to be observable at future colliders.

We propose the minimal, lepton-number conserving, SU(3)xSU(2)xU(1) gauge-singlet, or phantom, extension of the Standard Model. The extension is natural in the sense that all couplings are of O(1) or forbidden due to a phantom sector global U(1)_D symmetry, and basically imitates the standard Majorana see-saw mechanism. Spontaneous breaking of the U(1)_D symmetry triggers consistent electroweak gauge symmetry breaking only if it occurs at a scale compatible with small Dirac neutrino masses and baryogenesis through Dirac leptogenesis. Dirac leptogenesis proceeds through the usual out-of-equilibrium decay scenario, leading to left and right-handed neutrino asymmetries that do not fully equilibrate after they are produced. The model contains two physical Higgs bosons and a massless Goldstone boson. The existence of the Goldstone boson suppresses the Higgs to bb branching ratio and instead the Higgs bosons will mainly decay to invisible Goldstone and/or to visible vector boson pairs. In a representative scenario, we estimate that with 30 fb^-1 integrated luminosity, the LHC could discover this invisibly decaying Higgs, with mass ~120 GeV. At the same time a significantly heavier, partner Higgs boson with mass ~210 GeV could be found through its vector boson decays. Electroweak constraints as well as astrophysical and cosmological implications are analysed and discussed.

We consider the most general supersymmetric model with minimal particle content and an additional discrete Z_3 symmetry (instead of R-parity), which allows lepton number violating terms and results in non-zero Majorana neutrino masses. We investigate whether the currently measured values for lepton masses and mixing can be reproduced. We set up a framework in which Lagrangian parameters can be initialised without recourse to assumptions concerning trilinear or bilinear superpotential terms, CP-conservation or intergenerational mixing and analyse in detail the one loop corrections to the neutrino masses. We present scenarios in which the experimental data are reproduced and show the effect varying lepton number violating couplings has on the predicted atmospheric and solar mass^2 differences. We find that with bilinear lepton number violating couplings in the superpotential of the order 1 MeV the atmospheric mass scale can be reproduced. Certain trilinear superpotential couplings, usually, of the order of the electron Yukawa coupling can give rise to either atmospheric or solar mass scales and bilinear supersymmetry breaking terms of the order 0.1 GeV^2 can set the solar mass scale. Further details of our calculation, Lagrangian, Feynman rules and relevant generic loop diagrams, are presented in three Appendices.

Starting out from the most general, gauge invariant and renormalizable scalar potential of the R-parity violating MSSM and performing a calculable rotation to the scalar fields we arrive at a basis where the sneutrino VEVs are zero. The advantage of our rotation is that, in addition, we obtain diagonal soft supersymmetry breaking sneutrino masses and all potential parameters and VEVs real, proving that the MSSM scalar potential does not exhibit spontaneous or explicit CP-violation at tree level. The model has five CP-even and four CP-odd physical neutral scalars, with at least one CP-even scalar lighter than M_Z. We parametrise the neutral scalar sector in a way that resembles the parametrisation of the R-parity conserving MSSM, analyze its mass spectrum, the coupling to the gauge sector and the stability of the potential.

If for example, the decay B_s -->mu^+ mu^- is found at Tevatron with branching ratio 2 \times 10^(-7) then the heaviest Higgs boson mass in the MSSM should be less than 790 GeV for tan(beta) < 50 provided that the CKM matrix is the only source for (s)quark flavour changing processes.

We present the minimal supersymmetric standard model with general broken R-parity, focusing on minimal supergravity (mSUGRA). We discuss the origins of lepton number violation in supersymmetry. We have computed the full set of coupled one-loop renormalization group equations for the gauge couplings, the superpotential parameters and for all the soft supersymmetry breaking parameters. We provide analytic formule for the scalar potential minimization conditions which may be iterated to arbitrary precision. We compute the low-energy spectrum of the superparticles and the neutrinos as a function of the small set of parameters at the unification scale in the general basis. Specializing to mSUGRA, we use the neutrino masses to set new bounds on the R-parity violating couplings. These bounds are up-to five orders of magnitude stricter than the previously existing ones. In addition, new bounds on the R-parity violating couplings are also derived demanding a non-tachyonic sneutrino spectrum. We investigate the nature of the lightest supersymmetric particle and find extensive regions in parameter space, where it is not the neutralino. This leads to a novel set of supersymmetric signatures, which we classify.

We also compute the corrections to the minimization conditions of the effective potential at the same perturbative order. Our results extend the existing O(at^2) calculation, and are relevant in regions of the parameter space corresponding to tan(beta) >> 1. We extend to the Yukawa corrections a convenient renormalization scheme, previously proposed for the O(ab*as) corrections, that avoids unphysically large threshold effects associated with the bottom mass and absorbs the bulk of the corrections into the one-loop expression. For large values of tan(beta), the new contributions can account for a variation of several GeV in the lightest Higgs boson mass.

We connect these results with the renormalization group running of the MSSM parameters from the grand unification scale down to the weak scale, and discuss the corrections to the Higgs mixing parameter mu and to the running CP-odd Higgs mass mA in various scenarios of gravity-mediated SUSY breaking. We find that the O(at*as) and O(at^2) contributions partially cancel each other in the minimization conditions. In comparison with the full one-loop corrections, the O(at*as + at^2) two-loop corrections significantly weaken the dependence of the parameters mu and mA on the renormalization scale at which the effective potential is minimized. The residual two-loop and higher-order corrections to mu and mA are estimated to be at most 1% in the considered scenarios.

We derive the general resummed effective Lagrangian for Higgs-mediated flavour-changing neutral-current (FCNC) interactions in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), without resorting to particular assumptions that rely on the squark-mass or the quark-Yukawa structure of the theory. In our derivation we also include the possibility of explicit CP violation through the Cabibbo--Kobayashi--Maskawa mixing matrix and soft supersymmetry-breaking mass terms. The advantages of our resummed FCNC effective Lagrangian are explicitly demonstrated within the context of phenomenologically motivated scenarios. We obtain new testable predictions in the large $\tanβ$ regime of the theory for CP-conserving and CP-violating observables related to the $K$- and $B$-meson systems, such as $ΔM_{K,B}$, $ε_K$, $ε'/ε$, ${\cal B}(B_{d,s} \to \ell^+\ell^-)$ and their associated leptonic CP asymmetries. Finally, based on our resummed FCNC effective Lagrangian, we can identify configurations in the soft supersymmetry-breaking parameter space, for which a kind of a Glashow--Iliopoulos--Maiani-cancellation mechanism becomes operative and hence all Higgs-mediated, $\tanβ$-enhanced effects on $K$- and $B$-meson FCNC observables vanish.

We study the Tevatron search potential for minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) and find two observables which reveal complementary information on the mSUGRA parameter space: the ``gold-plated'' decays of charginos/neutralinos to trilepton final states and the rare decay B_s-> mu^+ mu^-. For the universal gaugino mass, M_{1/2} below 250 GeV and for the universal scalar fermion mass, M_0 outside of 200-370 GeV we face a ``no-lose'' situation for the Tevatron: If tan(beta) < 30, the Tevatron has a chance to see the trilepton events but not B_s -> mu^+ mu^- during Run IIa, whereas for larger tan(beta) the trilepton events become invisible (at least with an integrated luminosity of 2 fb^{-1}) while B_s -> mu^+ mu^- is enhanced to an observable level. For this study we perform an updated analysis of the trilepton signature which includes the full set of the decay matrix elements and spin correlations. This leads to a new, more promising search reach for the Tevatron.

We analyse the rare decay mode B_s -> mu^+ mu^- in the minimal supergravity scenario (mSUGRA). We find a strong correlation with the muon anomalous magnetic moment (g-2)_mu. An interpretation of the recently measured excess in (g-2)_mu in terms of mSUGRA corrections implies a substantial supersymmetric enhancement of the branching ratio Br(B_s -> mu^+ mu^-): if (g-2)_mu exceeds the Standard Model prediction by 4*10^{-9}, Br(B_s -> mu^+ mu^-) is larger by a factor of 10-100 than in the Standard Model and within reach of Run-II of the Tevatron. Thus an experimental search for B_s -> mu^+ mu^- is a stringent test of the mSUGRA GUT scale boundary conditions. If the decay B_s -> mu^+ mu^- is observed at Run-II of the Tevatron, then we predict the mass of the lightest supersymmetric Higgs boson to be less than 120 GeV. The decay B_s -> mu^+ mu^- can also significantly probe the favoured parameter range in SO(10) SUSY GUT models.

We investigate the Higgs boson sector of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) in the framework of the three most prominent soft SUSY-breaking scenarios, mSUGRA, MGMSB and mAMSB. For each scenario, we determine the parameters at the electroweak scale from the set of input variables at higher energy scales (depending on the specific scenario) and evaluate the Higgs boson properties. The latter are based on results obtained within the Feynman-diagrammatic approach by taking into account the complete one-loop and the dominant two-loop contributions. The maximum value of the mass of the lightest neutral CP-even MSSM Higgs boson, m_h, is determined in the three scenarios, and the behavior of the Higgs couplings to fermions and gauge bosons is investigated. Restrictions on tan beta and on the set of higher-energy scale parameters are derived from the lower limits arising from the Higgs search at LEP2. We furthermore discuss the regions of parameter space in the three scenarios compatible with interpreting the excess observed at LEP2 as a Higgs signal, with m_h = (115.0 + 1.3 - 0.9) GeV. The case where the events observed at LEP2 could originate from the production of the heavier neutral CP-even Higgs boson is also considered. The implications of a possible Higgs signal at 115 GeV for SUSY searches at future colliders are briefly discussed for each of the three scenarios.

The NuTeV Collaboration has observed an excess in their di-muon channel, possibly corresponding to a long-lived neutral particle with only weak interactions and which decays to muon pairs. We show that this can {\it not} be explained by pair production of neutralinos in the target followed by their decay far downstream in the detector via a $LLE$ R-parity violating (RPV) operator, as suggested in the literature. In the parameter region allowed by LEP the event rate is far too small. We propose instead a new neutralino production method via $B$-mesons, which can fully explain the observation. This is analogous to neutrino production via $π$-mesons. This model can be completely tested and thus also possibly excluded with NOMAD data. If it is excluded, the NuTeV observation is most likely not due to physics beyond the Standard Model. Our model can also be tested at the current and future $B$-factories. This opens up a new way of testing a long-lived neutralino LSP at fixed-target experiments and thus a possibility to close the gap between collider and cosmological tests of R-parity violation. We also discuss a possible explanation in terms of a neutral heavy lepton mixing with the Standard Model neutrinos. The flavour structure of the observation can be accounted for but the production rate is far too low.

This observation is based on a general CP-conserving two Higgs doublet extension of the Standard Model with no tree-level flavor changing neutral current couplings. The Higgs mass is constrained by experiments at CESR and LEP to be less than twice the lightest B-meson mass and greater than (roughly) the Upsilon mass. It may be possible to exclude or discover such a Higgs boson by fully analyzing the existing LEP data.

However, the allowed Higgs mass window is quite small and the corresponding model parameters are very constrained. The Higgs sector can contribute significantly to the observed BNL result for g-2 without violating known experimental constraints only if the hZZ coupling (approximately) vanishes and m_h lies between the Upsilon mass and 2m_B.

We study the phenomenology of a new Minimally-extended Supersymmetric Standard Model (nMSSM) where a gauge singlet superfield is added to the MSSM spectrum. The superpotential of this model contains no dimensionful parameters, thus solving the mu-problem of the MSSM. A global discrete R-symmetry, forbidding the cubic singlet self-interaction, imposed on the complete theory, guarantees its stability with respect to generated higher-order tadpoles of the singlet and solves both the domain wall and Peccei-Quinn axion problems. We give the free parameters of the model and display some general constraints on them. A particular attention is devoted to the neutralino sector where a (quasi-pure) singlino appears to be always the LSP of the model, leading to additional cascades, involving the NLSP -> LSP transition, compared with the MSSM. We then present the upper bounds on the masses of the lightest and next-to-lightest -- when the lightest is an invisible singlet -- CP-even Higgs bosons, including the full one-loop and dominant two-loop corrections. These bounds are found to be much higher than the equivalent ones in the MSSM. Finally, we discuss some phenomenological implications for the Higgs sector of the nMSSM in Higgs production at future hadron colliders.

We propose a new scenario that solves the slepton negative mass squared problem of the minimal supersymmetric standard model with anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking. The solution is achieved by including three trilinear R-parity violating operators in the superpotential. The soft supersymmetry breaking terms satisfy renormalisation group invariant relations in terms of supersymmetric couplings and the overall supersymmetry breaking mass scale. Flavour changing neutral currents can be naturally highly suppressed. A specific model predicts tan beta=4.2+/-1.0. Excluding sleptons, the supersymmetric particle spectrum then depends upon two remaining free parameters. In the case of the R-parity violating couplings set at their quasi-fixed points at a supersymmetric GUT scale, the whole sparticle spectrum approximately depends upon only one free parameter. Imposing experimental limits leads to a constrained and distinctive phenomenology. The lightest CP-even Higgs of mass m_h=118 GeV would be seen at the Tevatron. All sparticles and heavy Higgs would evade detection except for the lightest charginos and neutralinos, whose distinctive leptonic decays would be seen at the LHC.
