In dealing with nonlinear systems, it is common to use numerical solutions. Unlike the careful behavior towards the numerical results in chaotic regions, the validity of numerical results in regions of transient chaos might not always be taken into consideration. This article demonstrates that using numerical methods to solve systems undergoing transient chaos can be challenging and sometimes unreliable. To illustrate this issue, we use the Lorenz system [1] in the region of transient chaos as an example. We show how the result of the computation might completely change when using different mathematically equivalent expressions. This raises the question of which result should be relied on. To answer this question, we propose a method based on the Lyapunov exponent to determine the reliability of the numerical solution and apply it to the provided example. In fact, this method checks a necessary condition for the validity of the numerical solution. Then, by increasing the precision to the extent suggested by our method, we show that the result of our studied case passes this test. In the end, we briefly discuss the scope and limits of our method.

The well known fractional Helly theorem and colorful Helly theorem can be merged into the so called colorful fractional Helly theorem. It states: For every $α\in (0, 1]$ and every non-negative integer $d$, there is $β_{col}
= β_{col}(α, d) \in (0, 1]$ with the following property. Let $\mathcal{F}_1, \dots, \mathcal{F}_{d+1}$ be finite nonempty families of convex sets in $\mathbb{R}^d$ of sizes $n_1, \dots, n_{d+1}$ respectively. If at least $αn_1 n_2 \cdots n_{d+1}$ of the colorful $(d+1)$-tuples have a nonempty intersection, then there is $i \in [d+1]$ such that $\mathcal{F}_i$ contains a subfamily of size at least $β_{col} n_i$ with a nonempty intersection. (A colorful $(d+1)$-tuple is a $(d+1)$-tuple $(F_1, \dots , F_{d+1})$ such that $F_i$ belongs to $\mathcal{F}_i$ for every $i$.)
The colorful fractional Helly theorem was first stated and proved by Bárány, Fodor, Montejano, Oliveros, and Pór in 2014 with $β_{col} = α/(d+1)$. In 2017 Kim proved the theorem with better function $β_{col}$, which in particular tends to $1$ when $α$ tends to $1$. Kim also conjectured what is the optimal bound for $β_{col}(α, d)$ and provided the upper bound example for the optimal bound. The conjectured bound coincides with the optimal bounds for the (non-colorful) fractional Helly theorem proved independently by Eckhoff and Kalai around 1984.
We verify Kim's conjecture by extending Kalai's approach to the colorful scenario. Moreover, we obtain optimal bounds also in more general setting when we allow several sets of the same color.

This paper introduces a novel real-time Fuzzy Supervised Learning with Binary Meta-Feature (FSL-BM) for big data classification task. The study of real-time algorithms addresses several major concerns, which are namely: accuracy, memory consumption, and ability to stretch assumptions and time complexity. Attaining a fast computational model providing fuzzy logic and supervised learning is one of the main challenges in the machine learning. In this research paper, we present FSL-BM algorithm as an efficient solution of supervised learning with fuzzy logic processing using binary meta-feature representation using Hamming Distance and Hash function to relax assumptions. While many studies focused on reducing time complexity and increasing accuracy during the last decade, the novel contribution of this proposed solution comes through integration of Hamming Distance, Hash function, binary meta-features, binary classification to provide real time supervised method. Hash Tables (HT) component gives a fast access to existing indices; and therefore, the generation of new indices in a constant time complexity, which supersedes existing fuzzy supervised algorithms with better or comparable results. To summarize, the main contribution of this technique for real-time Fuzzy Supervised Learning is to represent hypothesis through binary input as meta-feature space and creating the Fuzzy Supervised Hash table to train and validate model.

It is obtained by performing an extensive linearization on SE(3) to estimate the state of the quadrotor from noisy measurements. Proposed estimator considers all the coupling effects between rotational and translational dynamics, and it is developed in a coordinate-free fashion. The desirable features of the proposed EKF are illustrated by numerical examples and experimental results for several scenarios. The proposed estimation scheme on SE(3) has been unprecedented and these results can be particularly useful for aggressive maneuvers in GPS denied environments or in situations where parts of onboard sensors fail.

Abstract:
We study $d$-dimensional simplicial complexes that are PL embeddable in $\mathbb{R}^{d+1}$. It is shown that such a complex must satisfy a certain homological condition.
The existence of this obstruction allows us to provide a systematic approach to deriving upper bounds for the number of top-dimensional faces of such complexes, particularly in low dimensions.

The rigid body is connected to the quadrotors via flexible cables where each flexible cable is modeled as a system of arbitrary number of serially connected links. It is shown that a coordinate-free form of equations of motion can be derived for the complete model without any simplicity assumptions that commonly appear in other literature, according to Lagrangian mechanics on a manifold. A geometric nonlinear controller is presented to transport the rigid body to a fixed desired position while aligning all of the links along the vertical direction. This dissertation presents nonlinear tracking control systems for quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) under the influence of uncertainties. Assuming that there exist unstructured disturbances in the translational dynamics and the attitude dynamics, a geometric nonlinear adaptive controller is developed directly on the special Euclidean group. In particular, a new form of an adaptive control term is proposed to guarantee stability while compensating the effects of uncertainties in quadrotor dynamics. Next, we derived a coordinate-free form of equations of motion for a complete model of a quadrotor UAV with a payload which is connected via a flexible cable according to Lagrangian mechanics on a manifold. The flexible cable is modeled as a system of serially-connected links and has been considered in the full dynamic model. A geometric nonlinear control system is presented to asymptotically stabilize the position of the quadrotor while aligning the links to the vertical direction below the quadrotor. Finally, we focused on the dynamics and control of arbitrary number of quadrotor UAVs transporting a rigid body payload. The rigid body payload is connected to quadrotors via flexible cables. It is shown that a coordinate-free form of equations of motion can be derived for arbitrary numbers of quadrotors and links according to Lagrangian mechanics on a manifold. Numerical simulation and experimental results are presented and rigorous mathematical stability analysis are provided. Using numerical information of some invariants in the primary decomposition of $0$ in $A$, namely the so called dimension filtration, we associate a bivariate polynomial $\BW(A;t,w)$, that we call the Björner--Wachs polynomial, to $A$.
It is shown that the Björner--Wachs polynomial is an algebraic counterpart of the combinatorially defined $h$-triangle of finite simplicial complexes introduced by Björner \& Wachs. We provide a characterisation of sequentially Cohen--Macaulay algebras in terms of the effect of the reverse lexicographic generic initial ideal on the Björner--Wachs polynomial. More precisely, we show that a graded algebra is sequentially Cohen--Macaulay if and only if it has a stable Björner--Wachs polynomial under passing to the reverse lexicographic generic initial ideal. We conclude by discussing connections with the Hilbert series of local cohomology modules.
