Recent advancements in location-aware analytics have created novel opportunities in different domains. In the area of process mining, enriching process models with geolocation helps to gain a better understanding of how the process activities are executed in practice. In this paper, we introduce our idea of geo-enabled process modeling and report on our industrial experience. To this end, we present a real-world case study to describe the importance of considering the location in process mining. Then we discuss the shortcomings of currently available process mining tools and propose our novel approach for modeling geo-enabled processes focusing on 1) increasing process interpretability through geo-visualization, 2) incorporating location-related metadata into process analysis, and 3) using location-based measures for the assessment of process performance. Finally, we conclude the paper by future research directions.

Abstract- The vision of the Linked Open Data (LOD) initiative is to provide a distributed model for publishing and meaningfully interlinking open data. The realization of this goal depends strongly on the quality of the data that is published as a part of the LOD. This paper focuses on the systematic quality assessment of datasets prior to publication on the LOD cloud. To this end, we identify important quality deficiencies that need to be avoided and/or resolved prior to the publication of a dataset. We then propose a set of metrics to measure these quality deficiencies in a dataset. This way, we enable the assessment and identification of undesirable quality characteristics of a dataset through our proposed metrics. This will help publishers to filter out low-quality data based on the quality assessment results, which in turn enables data consumers to make better and more informed decisions when using the open datasets.

Cloud computing provides resources over the Internet and allows a plethora of applications to be deployed to provide services for different industries. The major bottleneck being faced currently in these cloud frameworks is their limited scalability and hence inability to cater to the requirements of centralized Internet of Things (IoT) based compute environments. The main reason for this is that latency-sensitive applications like health monitoring and surveillance systems now require computation over large amounts of data (Big Data) transferred to centralized database and from database to cloud data centers which leads to drop in performance of such systems. The new paradigms of fog and edge computing provide innovative solutions by bringing resources closer to the user and provide low latency and energy-efficient solutions for data processing compared to cloud domains. Still, the current fog models have many limitations and focus from a limited perspective on either accuracy of results or reduced response time but not both. We proposed a novel framework called HealthFog for integrating ensemble deep learning in Edge computing devices and deployed it for a real-life application of automatic Heart Disease analysis. HealthFog delivers healthcare as a fog service using IoT devices and efficiently manages the data of heart patients, which comes as user requests. Fog-enabled cloud framework, FogBus is used to deploy and test the performance of the proposed model in terms of power consumption, network bandwidth, latency, jitter, accuracy and execution time. HealthFog is configurable to various operation modes that provide the best Quality of Service or prediction accuracy, as required, in diverse fog computation scenarios and for different user requirements.

Question Answering (QA) systems provide easy access to the vast amount of knowledge without having to know the underlying complex structure of the knowledge. The research community has provided ad hoc solutions to the key QA tasks, including named entity recognition and disambiguation, relation extraction and query building. Furthermore, some have integrated and composed these components to implement many tasks automatically and efficiently. However, in general, the existing solutions are limited to simple and short questions and still do not address complex questions composed of several sub-questions. Exploiting the answer to complex questions is further challenged if it requires integrating knowledge from unstructured data sources, i.e., textual corpus, as well as structured data sources, i.e., knowledge graphs. In this paper, an approach (HCqa) is introduced for dealing with complex questions requiring federating knowledge from a hybrid of heterogeneous data sources (structured and unstructured). We contribute in developing (i) a decomposition mechanism which extracts sub-questions from potentially long and complex input questions, (ii) a novel comprehensive schema, first of its kind, for extracting and annotating relations, and (iii) an approach for executing and aggregating the answers of sub-questions. The evaluation of HCqa showed a superior accuracy in the fundamental tasks, such as relation extraction, as well as the federation task.
