We will consider a family of cellular automata $Φ: \{1,2,...,r\}^\mathbb{N}\circlearrowright$ that are not of algebraic type. Our first goal is to determine conditions that result in the identification of probabilities that are at the same time $σ$-invariant and $Φ$-invariant, where $σ$ is the full shift. Via the use of versions of the Ruelle operator $\mathcal{L}_{A,σ}$ and $\mathcal{L}_{B,Φ}$ we will show that there is an abundant set of measures with this property; they will be equilibrium probabilities for different Lispchitz potentials $A,B$ and for the corresponding dynamics $σ$ and $Φ$. Via the use of a version of the involution kernel $W$ for a $(σ,Φ)$-mixed skew product $\hatΦ: \{1,2,...,r\}^\mathbb{Z}\circlearrowright$, given $A$ one can determine $B$, in such way that the integral kernel $e^W$ produce a duality between eigenprobabilities $ρ_A$ for $(\mathcal{L}_{A,σ})^*$ and eigenfunctions $ψ_B$ for $\mathcal{L}_{B,Φ}$. In another direction, considering the non-mixed extension $\hatΦ_n : \{1,2,...,r\}^\mathbb{Z}\circlearrowright$ of $Φ$, given a Lispchitz potential $\hat{A} : \{1,2,...,r\}^\mathbb{Z}\to \mathbb{R}$, we can identify a Lipschitz potential $A:\{1,2,...,r\}^\mathbb{N} \to \mathbb{R} $, in such away that relates the variational problem of $\hatΦ_n$-Topological Pressure for $\hat{A}$ with the $Φ$-Topological Pressure for $A$. We also present a version of Livsic's Theorem. Whether or not $Φ$ (or $\hatΦ)$ can eventually be conjugated with another shift of finite type is irrelevant in our context.

We will denote by $\mathcal{M}$ the space of Borel probabilities on the symbolic space $Ω=\{1,2...,m\}^\mathbb{N}$. $\mathcal{M}$ is equipped Monge-Kantorovich metric. We consider here the push-forward map $\mathfrak{T}:\mathcal{M} \to \mathcal{M}$ as a dynamical system. The space of Borel probabilities on $\mathcal{M}$ is denoted by $\mathfrak{M}$. Given a continuous function $A: \mathcal{M}\to \mathbb{R}$, an {\it a priori} probability $Π_0$ on $\mathcal{M}$, and a certain convolution operation acting on pairs of probabilities on $\mathcal{M}$, we define an associated Level-2 IFS Ruelle operator. We show the existence of an eigenfunction and an eigenprobability $\hatΠ\in\mathfrak{M}$ for such an operator. Under a normalization condition for $A$, we show the existence of some $\mathfrak{T}$-invariant probabilities $\hatΠ\in\mathfrak{M}.$ We are able to define the variational entropy of such $\hatΠ$ and a related maximization pressure problem associated to $A$. In some particular examples, we show how to get eigenprobabilities solutions on $\mathfrak{M}$ for the Level-2 Thermodynamic Formalism problem from eigenprobabilities on $\mathcal{M}$ for the classical (Level-1) Thermodynamic Formalism. These examples highlight the fact that our approach is a natural generalization of the classic case.

It is natural to consider the constraint $ \mathrm{d}\mathrm{i}\mathrm{v}(a^{2}Du)=0$, which means flux zero. The $a$ and $u$ obtained from a critical solution (under variations $τ$) for such action functional, fulfilling such constraints, satisfy the Hamilton-Jacobi equation with a quantum potential. Introducing the constraint $\int a^2 \,D u \,dx =V$, we also consider later an associated dual eigenvalue problem. From this follows a transport and a kind of eikonal equation.

We consider here a dynamic model for a gas in which a variable number of particles $N \in \mathbb{N}_0 := \mathbb{N} \cup \{0\}$ can be located at a site. This point of view leads us to the grand-canonical framework and the need for a chemical potential. The dynamics is played by the shift acting on the set of sequences $Ω:= \mathcal{A}^\mathbb{N}$, where the alphabet is $\mathcal{A} := \{1,2,...,r\}$. Introducing new variables like the number of particles $N$ and the chemical potential $μ$, we adapt the concept of grand-canonical partition sum of thermodynamics of gases to a symbolic dynamical setting considering a Lipschitz family of potentials $% (A_N)_{N \in \mathbb{N}_0}$, $A_N:Ω\to \mathbb{R}$. Our main results will be obtained from adapting well-known properties of the Thermodynamic Formalism for IFS with weights to our setting. In this direction, we introduce the grand-canonical-Ruelle operator: $\mathcal{L}_{β, μ}(f)=g$, when, $β>0,μ<0,$ and
\medskip $\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,g(x)= \mathcal{L}_{β, μ}(f) (x) =\sum_{N \in \mathbb{N}_0} e^{β\, μ\, N }\, \sum_{j \in \mathcal{A}} e^{- \,β\, A_N(jx)} f(jx). $ \medskip
We show the existence of the main eigenvalue, an associated eigenfunction, and an eigenprobability for $\mathcal{L}_{β, μ}^*$. We can show the analytic dependence of the eigenvalue on the grand-canonical potential. Considering the concept of entropy for holonomic probabilities on $Ω\times \mathcal{A}^{\mathbb{N}_0}$, we relate these items with the variational problem of maximizing grand-canonical pressure. In another direction, in the appendix, we briefly digress on a possible interpretation of the concept of topological pressure as related to the gas pressure of gas thermodynamics.

We introduce a general IFS Bayesian method for getting posterior probabilities from prior probabilities, and also a generalized Bayes' rule, which will contemplate a dynamical, as well as a non-dynamical setting. Given a loss function ${l}$, we detail the prior and posterior items, their consequences and exhibit several examples. Taking $Θ$ as the set of parameters and $Y$ as the set of data (which usually provides {random samples}), a general IFS is a measurable map $τ:Θ\times Y \to Y$, which can be interpreted as a family of maps $τ_θ:Y\to Y,\,θ\inΘ$. The main inspiration for the results we will get here comes from a paper by Zellner (with no dynamics), where Bayes' rule is related to a principle of minimization of {information.} We will show that our IFS Bayesian method which produces posterior probabilities (which are associated to holonomic probabilities) is related to the optimal solution of a variational principle, somehow corresponding to the pressure in Thermodynamic Formalism, and also to the principle of minimization of information in Information Theory. Among other results, we present the prior dynamical elements and we derive the corresponding posterior elements via the Ruelle operator of Thermodynamic Formalism; getting in this way a form of dynamical Bayes' rule.

$$\frac{1}{2} Δf(x)+\,V(x)f(x) ,$$ for all $x\in M$.
Denote by $P_t^V$, $t \geq 0,$ the semigroup acting on functions $f: M\to\mathbb R$ given by $$P_{t}^V (f)(x)\,:=\, \mathbb E_{x} \big[e^{\int_0^{t} V(X_r)\,dr} f(X_t)\big].\,$$
We will show that this semigroup is a continuous-time version of the discrete-time Ruelle operator.
Consider the positive differentiable eigenfunction $F: M \to \mathbb{R}$ associated to the main eigenvalue $λ$ for the semigroup $P_t^V$, $t \geq 0$. From the function $F$, in a procedure similar to the one used in the case of discrete-time Thermodynamic Formalism, we can associate via a coboundary procedure a certain stationary Markov semigroup. The probability on the Skhorohod space obtained from this new stationary Markov semigroup can be seen as a stationary Gibbs state associated with the potential $V$. We define entropy, pressure, the continuous-time Ruelle operator and we present a variational principle of pressure for such a setting.

$\mathcal{D} $ of \textit{càdlàg} paths $w: [0,\infty) \to S^1$, where $S^1$ is the unitary circle. We equip the space $\mathcal{D} $ with the Skorokhod metric, and we show that the semi-flow is expanding. We also introduce a stochastic semi-group $e^{t\, L}$, $t \geq 0,$ where $L$ acts linearly on continuous functions $f:S^1\to\mathbb{R}$. This stochastic semigroup and an initial vector of probability $π$ define an associated stationary shift-invariant probability $\mathbb{P}$ on the Polish space $\mathcal{D} $. Given such $\mathbb{P}$ and an Hölder potential $V:S^1 \to \mathbb{R}$, we define a continuous time Ruelle operator, which is described by a family of linear operators $ \mathbb{L}^t_V$, $t\geq 0,$ acting on continuous functions $\varphi: S^1 \to \mathbb{R}$. More precisely, given any Hölder $V$ and $t\geq 0$, the operator $ \mathbb{L}^t_V$, is defined by
$\varphi \to ψ(y) = \mathbb{L}^t_V(\varphi)(y)= \int_{w(t)=y} e^{ \int_0^t V(w(s)) ds} \varphi (w(0)) d \mathbb{P}(w).$
For some specific parameters we show the existence of an eigenvalue $λ_V$ and an associated Hölder eigenfunction $\varphi_V>0$.After a coboundary procedure we obtain another stochastic semigroup, with infinitesimal generator $L_V$, and this will define a new probability $\mathbb{P}_V$ on $\mathcal{D}$, which we call the Gibbs (or, equilibrium) probability for the potential $V$. In this case, we define entropy for some shift-invariant probabilities on $\mathcal{D}$, and we consider a variational problem of pressure. Finally, we define entropy production and present our main result: we analyze its relation with time-reversal and symmetry of $L$. We also show that the continuous-time shift $Θ_t$, acting on the Skorohod space $D$, is expanding.

Given $A: \{0,1\}^\mathbb{N}=Ω^+\to \mathbb{R}$ we express $A$ in the variable $x$, like $A(x)$.
In a similar way, given $B: \{0,1\}^\mathbb{N}=Ω^{-}\to \mathbb{R}$ we express $B$ in the variable $y$, like $B(y)$.
Finally, given $W: Ω^{-} \times Ω^{+}\to \mathbb{R}$, we express $W$ in the variable $(y|x)$, like $W(y|x)$. By abuse of notation we write $A(y|x)=A(x)$ and $B(y|x)=B(y).$ The probability $μ_A$ denotes the equilibrium probability for $A: \{0,1\}^\mathbb{N}\to \mathbb{R}$.
Given a continuous potential $A: Ω^+\to \mathbb{R}$, we say that the continuous potential $A^*: Ω^{-}\to \mathbb{R}$ is the dual potential of $A$, if there exists a continuous $W: Ω^{-} \times Ω^{+}\to \mathbb{R}$, such that, for all $(y|x) \in \{0,1\}^{\mathbb{Z}-\{0\}}$ $$
A^* (y) = \left[ A \circ \hatσ^{-1} + W \circ \hatσ^{-1} - W \right] (y|x).
$$
We say that $W$ is an involution kernel for $A$. The function $W$ allows you to define an spectral projection in the linear space of the main eigenfunction of the Ruelle operator for $A$.
Given $A$, we describe explicit expressions for $W$ and the dual potential $A^*$, for $A$ in a family of functions introduced by P. Walters. We present conditions for $A$ to be symmetric and to be of twist type.

It is known that the infinite-dimensional manifold $\mathcal{N}$ of equilibrium probabilities for Hölder potentials $A:M \to \mathbb{R}$ is an analytical manifold and carries a natural Riemannian metric associated with the asymptotic variance. We show here that under the assumption of the existence of a Fourier-like Hilbert basis for the kernel of the Ruelle operator there exists geodesics paths. When $T=σ$ and $M=\{0,1\}^\mathbb{N}$ such basis exists.
In a different direction, we also consider the KL-divergence $D_{KL}(μ_1,μ_2)$ for a pair of equilibrium probabilities. If $D_{KL}(μ_1,μ_2)=0$, then $μ_1=μ_2$. Although $D_{KL}$ is not a metric in $\mathcal{N}$, it describes the proximity between $μ_1$ and $μ_2$. A natural problem is: for a fixed probability $μ_1\in \mathcal{N}$ consider the probability $μ_2$ in a convex set of probabilities in $\mathcal{N}$ which minimizes $D_{KL}(μ_1,μ_2)$. This minimization problem is a dynamical version of the main issues considered in information projections. We consider this problem in $\mathcal{N}$, a case where all probabilities are dynamically invariant, getting explicit equations for the solution sought. Triangle and Pythagorean inequalities will be investigated.

Consider a Hölder Jacobian $J$ and the Ruelle (transfer) operator $\mathcal{L}_{\log J}.$ Two equilibrium probabilities $μ_1$ and $μ_2$, can interact via a discrete-time {\it Thermodynamic Operation} described by the action {\it of the dual of the Ruelle operator} $ \mathcal{L}_{\log J}^*$. We argue that the law $μ\to \mathcal{L}_{\log J}^*(μ)$, producing nonequilibrium, can be seen as a Thermodynamic Operation after showing that it's a manifestation of the Second Law of Thermodynamics. We also show that the change of relative entropy satisfies $$ D_{K L} (μ_1,μ_2) - D_{K L} (\mathcal{L}_{\log J}^*(μ_1),\mathcal{L}_{\log J}^*(μ_2))= 0.$$ Furthermore, we describe sufficient conditions on $J,μ_1$ for getting $h(\mathcal{L}_{\log J}^*(μ_1))\geq h(μ_1)$, where $h$ is entropy. Recalling a natural Riemannian metric in the Banach manifold of Hölder equilibrium probabilities we exhibit the second-order Taylor formula for an infinitesimal tangent change of KL divergence; a crucial estimate in Information Geometry. We introduce concepts like heat, work, volume, pressure, and internal energy, which play here the role of the analogous ones in Thermodynamics of gases. We briefly describe the MaxEnt method.

We analyze hypotheses tests using classical results on large deviations to compare two models, each one described by a different Hölder Gibbs probability measure. One main difference to the classical hypothesis tests in Decision Theory is that here the two measures are singular with respect to each other. Among other objectives, we are interested in the decay rate of the wrong decisions probability, when the sample size $n$ goes to infinity. We show a dynamical version of the Neyman-Pearson Lemma displaying the ideal test within a certain class of similar tests. This test becomes exponentially better, compared to other alternative tests, when the sample size goes to infinity. We are able to present the explicit exponential decay rate. We also consider both, the Min-Max and a certain type of Bayesian hypotheses tests. We shall consider these tests in the log likelihood framework by using several tools of Thermodynamic Formalism. Versions of the Stein's Lemma and Chernoff's information are also presented.

Statistical inference can be seen as information processing involving input information and output information that updates belief about some unknown parameters. We consider the Bayesian framework for making inferences about dynamical systems from ergodic observations, where the Bayesian procedure is based on the Gibbs posterior inference, a decision process generalization of standard Bayesian inference where the likelihood is replaced by the exponential of a loss function. In the case of direct observation and almost-additive loss functions, we prove an exponential convergence of the a posteriori measures a limit measure. Our estimates on the Bayes posterior convergence for direct observation are related and extend those in a recent paper by K. McGoff, S. Mukherjee and A. Nobel. Our approach makes use of non-additive thermodynamic formalism and large deviation properties instead of joinings.

Given an {\it a priori} probability kernel $\hatν$ and a probability $π$ on the measurable space $X\times Y$ we consider an appropriate definition of entropy of $π$ relative to $\hatν$, which is based on previous works. Using this concept of entropy we obtain a natural definition of information gain for general measurable spaces which coincides with the mutual information given from the K-L divergence in the case $\hatν$ is identified with a probability $ν$ on $X$. This will be used to extend the meaning of specific information gain and dynamical entropy production to the model of thermodynamic formalism for symbolic dynamics over a compact alphabet (TFCA model). In this case, we show that the involution kernel is a natural tool for better understanding some important properties of entropy production.

In order to do so, we adapt ideas from Thermodynamic Formalism as follows. For a given bounded Hölder continuous potential $A:X \to \mathbb{R}$, we define a transfer operator $\mathcal{L}_A$ which acts on continuous functions on $X$ and prove that this operator satisfies a Ruelle-Perron-Frobenius theorem. That is, we show the existence of an eigenfunction for $\mathcal{L}_A$ which provides us with a normalized potential $\overline{A}$ and an action of the dual operator $\mathcal{L}_{\overline{A}}^*$ on the $1$-Wasserstein space of probabilities on $X$ with a unique fixed point, to which we refer to as Gibbs probability.
It is worth noting that the definition of $\mathcal{L}_A$ requires an {\it a priori} probability on the kernel of $L$. These results are extended to a wide class of operators with a non-trivial kernel defined on separable Banach spaces.

On a previous work the authors show that for a fixed measure $μ$ it is generic on the function $L$ the $Φ$-Erg property (also irreducibility). Here we will show that the purification property is also generic on $L$ for a fixed $μ$.
Given $L$ and $μ$ there are two related stochastic process: one takes values on the projective space $ P(\C^k)$ and the other on matrices in $M_k$. The $Φ$-Erg property and the purification condition are good hypothesis for the discrete time evolution given by the natural transition probability. In this way it will follow that generically on $L$, if $\int |L(v)|^2 \log |L(v)|\, \ dμ(v)<\infty$, then the Lyapunov exponents $\infty > γ_1\geq γ_2\geq ...\geq γ_k\geq -\infty$ are well defined.
On the previous work it was presented the concepts of entropy of a channel and of Gibbs channel; and also an example (associated to a stationary Markov chain) where this definition of entropy (for a quantum channel) matches the Kolmogorov-Shanon definition of entropy. We estimate here the larger Lyapunov exponent for the above mentioned example and we show that it is equal to $-\frac{1}{2} \,h$, where $h$ is the entropy of the associated Markov probability.

We are interested in sequences $x = (x(n))_{n \in \mathbb{N}} \in \mathcal{A}_m^\mathbb{N}$ which are associated to all possible values $a$ which have a unique expansion. We denote the set of such $x$ (with some more technical restrictions) by $X_{m,β} \subset\mathcal{A}_m^\mathbb{N}$. The space $X_{m, β}$ is called the symmetric $β$-shift associated to the pair $(m, β)$. It is invariant by the shift map but in general it is not a subshift of finite type. Given a Hölder continuous potential $A:X_{m, β} \to\mathbb{R}$, we consider the Ruelle operator $\mathcal{L}_A$ and we show the existence of a positive eigenfunction $ψ_A$ and an eigenmeasure $ρ_A$ for some appropriated values of $m$ and $β$. Moreover, we prove that the family of entropies $h(μ_{tA})_{t>1}$ converges, when $t \to\infty$, to the maximal value among the set of all possible values of entropy of all $A$-maximizing probabilities.

From a suitable class of a priori probability measures $ν$ (over the Borelian sets of $\mathbb{R}$) we define the Ruelle operator associated to $A$ (using an adequate extension of this operator to the compact set $\overline{\mathbb{R}}^\mathbb{N}=(S^1)^\mathbb{N}$) and we show the existence of eigenfunctions, conformal probability measures and equilibrium states associated to $A$. We are also able to show several of the well known classical properties of Thermodynamic Formalism for both of these probability measures. The above, can be seen as a generalization of the results obtained in the compact case for the XY-model. We also introduce an extension of the definition of entropy and show the existence of $A$-maximizing measures (via ground states for $A$); we show the existence of the zero temperature limit under some mild assumptions. Moreover, we prove the existence of an involution kernel for $A$ (this requires to consider the bilateral full-shift on $\mathbb{R}^{\mathbb{Z}}$). Finally, we build a Gibbsian specification for the Borelian sets on the set $\mathbb{R}^{\mathbb{N}}$ and we show that this family of probability measures satisfies a \emph{FKG}-inequality.

A recent paper by T. Benoist, M. Fraas, Y. Pautrat, and C. Pellegrini is our starting point. They considered the case where $L$ was the identity.
Under some mild assumptions on the quantum channel $φ_L$ we analyze the eigenvalue property for $φ_L$ and we define entropy for such channel. For a fixed $μ$ (the \textit{a priori} measure) and for a given a Hamiltonian $H: M_k \to M_k$ we present a version of the Ruelle Theorem: a variational principle of pressure (associated to such $H$) related to an eigenvalue problem for the Ruelle operator. We introduce the concept of Gibbs channel.
We also show that for a fixed $μ$ (with more than one point in the support) the set of $L$ such that it is $φ$-Erg (also irreducible) for $μ$ is a generic set.
We describe a related process $X_n$, $n\in \mathbb{N}$, taking values on the projective space $ P(\C^k)$ and analyze the question of the existence of invariant probabilities.
We also consider an associated process $ρ_n$, $n\in \mathbb{N}$, with values on $\mathcal{D}_k$ ($\mathcal{D}_k$ is the set of density operators). Via the barycenter we associate the invariant probabilities mentioned above with the density operator which is fixed for $φ_L$.

Here we consider the discrete time dynamics described by a transformation $T:M \to M$, where $T$ is the shift and $M=\{1,2,...,d\}^\mathbb{N}$. It is known that the infinite-dimensional manifold $\mathcal{N}$ of Hölder equilibrium probabilities is an analytical manifold and carries a natural Riemannian metric. Given a normalized Hölder potential $A$ denote by $μ_A \in \mathcal{N}$ the associated equilibrium probability. The set of tangent vectors $X$ to the manifold $\mathcal{N}$ at the point $μ_A$ coincides with the kernel of the Ruelle operator for $A$. The Riemannian norm $|X|=|X|_A$ of the vector $X$, which is tangent to $\mathcal{N}$ at the point $μ_A$, is described via the asymptotic variance, that is, satisfies
$|X|^2\,\,= \langle X, X \rangle =\lim_{n \to \infty} \frac{1}{n} \int (\sum_{i=0}^{n-1} X\circ T^i )^2 \,d μ_A$.
Consider an orthonormal basis $X_i$, $i \in \mathbb{N}$, for the tangent space at $μ_A$. Given two unit tangent vectors $X$ and $Y$ the curvature $K(X,Y)$ satisfies
$\,\,\,\,K(X,Y) = \frac{1}{4}[\, \sum_{i=1}^\infty ( \int X \,Y\, X_i \,d μ_A)^2 - \sum_{i=1}^\infty \int X^2 X_i \,d μ_A\, \,\int Y^2 X_i \,d μ_A \,].$
When the equilibrium probabilities $μ_A$ is the set of invariant Markov probabilities on $\{0,1\}^\mathbb{N}\subset \mathcal{N}$, introducing an orthonormal basis $\hat{a}_y$, indexed by finite words $y$, we show explicit expressions for $K(\hat{a}_x,\hat{a}_z)$, which is a finite sum. These values can be positive or negative depending on $A$ and the words $x$ and $z$. Words $x,z$ with large length can eventually produce large negative curvature $K(\hat{a}_x,\hat{a}_z)$. If $x, z$ do not begin with the same letter, then $K(\hat{a}_x,\hat{a}_z)=0$.

Given an initial condition $f_0$, the sequence, $\mathcal{G}^n(f_0)$ will converge to a subaction. The sharp numerical evidence obtained from this iteration allow us to guess explicit expressions for the subaction in several worked examples: among them for $A(x) = \sin^2 ( 2 πx)$ and $A(x) = \sin ( 2 πx)$. Here, among other things, we present piecewise analytical expressions for several calibrated subactions. The iterative procedure can also be applied to the estimation of the joint spectral radius of matrices. We also analyze the iteration of $\mathcal{G}$ when the subaction is not unique. Moreover, we briefly present the version of the $1/2$ iterative procedure for the estimation of the main eigenfunction of the Ruelle operator.

For a fixed observable of the form $L \otimes L \otimes L \otimes ...$, where $L:\mathbb{C}^2 \to \mathbb{C}^2 $ is self adjoint, and for positive temperature $T$ one can get a naturally defined stationary probability $μ_T$ on the Bernoulli space $\{1,2\}^\mathbb{N}$.
The Jacobian of $μ_T$ can be expressed via a certain continued fraction expansion.
We will show that this probability is a Gibbs probability for a Hölder potential. Therefore, this probability is mixing for the shift map. For such probability $μ_T$ we will show the explicit deviation function for a certain class of functions.
When decreasing temperature we will be able to exhibit the explicit transition value $T_c$ where the set of values of the Jacobian of the Gibbs probability $μ_T$ changes from being a Cantor set to being an interval.
We also present some properties for quantum spin probabilities at zero temperature (for instance, the explicit value of the entropy).

In this paper we study spectral triples and non-commutative expectations associated to expanding and weakly expanding maps. In order to do so, we generalize the Perron-Frobenius-Ruelle theorem and obtain a polynomial decay of the operator, which allows to prove differentiability of a dynamically defined $ζ$-function at its critical parameter. We then generalize Sharp's construction of spectral triples to this setting and provide criteria when the associated spectral metric is non-degenerate and when the non-commutative expectation of the spectral triple is colinear to the integration with respect to the associated equilibrium state from thermodynamic formalism. Due to our general setting, we are able to simultaneously analyse expanding maps on manifolds or connected fractals, subshifts of finite type as well as the Dyson model from statistical physics, which underlines the unifying character of noncommutative geometry. Furthermore, we derive an explicit representation of the $ζ$-function associated to a particular class of pathological continuous potentials, giving rise to examples where the representation as a non-commutative expectation via the associated zeta function holds, and others where it does not hold.

We relate some of these KMS states with Gibbs states of Thermodynamic Formalism. While presenting new results, we will also describe in detail several examples and basic results on the above topics. In other words it is also a survey paper. Some known results on non-commutative integration are presented, more precisely, the relation of transverse measures, cocycles and quasi-invariant probabilities.
We describe the results in a language which is more familiar to people in Dynamical Systems. Our intention is to study Haar systems, quasi-invariant probabilities and von Neumann algebras as a topic on measure theory (intersected with ergodic theory) avoiding questions of algebraic nature (which, of course, are also extremely important).

For $β>0$ and $λ\in (0,1)$, there exists a unique fixed point $u_{λ,β} :S^1\to \mathbb{R}$ for the equation $e^{u_{λ,β}(x)} = \sum_{T(y)=x}e^{βA(y) +λu_{λ,β}(y)}$.
It is known that as $λ\to 1$ the family $e^{[u_{λ,β}- \sup u_{λ,β}]}$ converges uniformly to the main eigenfuntion $φ_β$ for the Ruelle operator associated to $βA$.
We consider $λ=λ(β)$, $β(1-λ(β))\to+\infty$ and $λ(β) \to 1$, as $β\to\infty$. Under these hypothesis we will show that $\frac{1}β(u_{λ,β}-\frac{P(βA)}{1-λ})$ converges uniformly to the above $V$, as $β\to \infty$.
The parameter $β$ represents the inverse of temperature in Statistical Mechanics and $β\to \infty$ means that we are considering that the temperature goes to zero. Under these conditions we get selection of subaction when $β\to \infty$.

D. Ruelle considered a general setting where he is able to characterize equilibrium states for Hölder potentials based on properties of conjugating homeomorphism in the so called Smale spaces. On this setting he also shows a relation of KMS states of $C^*$-algebras and equilibrium probabilities of Thermodynamic Formalism. A later paper by N. Haydn and D. Ruelle presents a shorter proof of this equivalence.
Here we consider similar problems but now on the symbolic space $Ω= \{1,2,...,d\}^{\mathbb{Z} - \{ 0 \} }$ and the dynamics will be given by the shift $τ$. In the case of potentials depending on a finite coordinates we will present a simplified proof of the equivalence mentioned above which is the main issue of the papers by D. Ruelle and N. Haydn. The class of conjugating homeomorphism is explicit and reduced to a minimal set of conditions.
We also present with details (following D. Ruelle) the relation of these probabilities with the KMS dynamical $C^*$-state on the $C^*$-Algebra associated to the groupoid defined by the homoclinic equivalence relation.
The topics presented here are not new but we believe the main ideas of the proof of the results by Ruelle and Haydn will be quite transparent in our exposition.

In the first part of the paper we prove the validity of the FKG inequality on Thermodynamic Formalism setting for a class of eigenmeasures of the dual of the Ruelle operator, including several examples of interest in Statistical Mechanics. In addition to deducing this inequality in cases not covered by classical results about attractive specifications our proof has advantage of to be easily adapted for suitable subshifts. We review (and provide proofs in our setting) some classical results about the long-range Ising model on the lattice $\mathbb{N}$ and use them to deduce some monotonicity properties of the associated Ruelle operator and their relations with phase transitions.
As is widely known, for some continuous potentials does not exists a positive continuous eigenfunction associated to the spectral radius of the Ruelle operator acting on $C(X)$. Here we employed some ideas related to the involution kernel in order to solve the main eigenvalue problem in a suitable sense - for a class of potentials having low regularity. From this we obtain an explicit tight upper bound for the main eigenvalue (consequently for the pressure) of the Ruelle operator associated to Ising models with $1/r^{2+\varepsilon}$ interaction energy. Extensions of the Ruelle operator to suitable Hilbert Spaces are considered and a theorem solving to the main eigenvalue problem (in a weak sense) is obtained by using the Lions-Lax-Milgram theorem.

We say that $ρ$ is a Gibbs probability for the Holder continuous potential $\log J$, if $\mathcal{L}_{\log J}^* \,(ρ)=ρ,$ where $\mathcal{L}_{\log J}$ is the Ruelle operator for $\log J$. We call $J$ the Jacobian of $ρ$.
Suppose $ν=μ_1*μ_2$ is the convolution of two Gibbs probabilities $μ_1$ and $μ_2$ associated, respectively, to $\log J_1$ and $\log J_2$. We show that $ν$ is also Gibbs and its Jacobian $\tilde{J}$ is given by $\tilde{J}(u) = \int J_1(u-x) d μ_2(x)$
In this case, the entropy $h(ν)$ is given by the expression $$ h(ν) = - \int\,[\,\,\int\, \log \,(\,\int J_1(r+s-x) d μ_2(x)\,) \, d μ_2(r)\,\, ]\,\,d μ_1 (s).$$ For a fixed $μ_2$ we consider differentiable variations $μ_1^t$, $t \in (-ε,ε)$, of $μ_1$ on the Banach manifold of Gibbs probabilities, where $μ_1^0=μ_1$, and we estimate the derivative of the entropy $h(μ_1^t * μ_2)$ at $t=0$.
We also present an expression for the Jacobian of the convolution of a Gibbs probability $ρ$ with the invariant probability with support on a periodic orbit of period two. This expression is based on the Jacobian of $ρ$ and two Radon-Nidodym derivatives.

We present a general form of Renormalization operator $\mathcal{R}$ acting on potentials $V:\{0,1\}^\mathbb{N} \to \mathbb{R}$. We exhibit the analytical expression of the fixed point potential $V$ for such operator $\mathcal{R}$. This potential can be expressed in a naturally way in terms of a certain integral over the Hausdorff probability on a Cantor type set on the interval $[0,1]$. This result generalizes a previous one by A. Baraviera, R. Leplaideur and A. Lopes where the fixed point potential $V$ was of Hofbauer type.
For the potentials of Hofbauer type (a well known case of phase transition) the decay is like $n^{-γ}$, $γ>0$.
Among other things we present the estimation of the decay of correlation of the equilibrium probability associated to the fixed potential $V$ of our general renormalization procedure. In some cases we get polynomial decay like $n^{-γ}$, $γ>0$, and in others a decay faster than $n \,e^{ -\, \sqrt{n}}$, when $n \to \infty$.
The potentials $g$ we consider here are elements of the so called family of Walters potentials on $\{0,1\}^\mathbb{N} $ which generalizes the potentials considered initially by F. Hofbauer. For these potentials some explicit expressions for the eigenfunctions are known.
In a final section we also show that given any choice $d_n \to 0$ of real numbers varying with $n \in \mathbb{N}$ there exist a potential $g$ on the class defined by Walters which has a invariant probability with such numbers as the coefficients of correlation (for a certain explicit observable function).

We study a class of potentials $f$ on one sided full shift spaces over finite or countable alphabets, called potentials of product type. We obtain explicit formulae for the leading eigenvalue, the eigenfunction (which may be discontinuous) and the eigenmeasure of the Ruelle operator. The uniqueness property of these quantities is also discussed and it is shown that there always exists a Bernoulli equilibrium state even if $f$ does not satisfy Bowen's condition. We apply these results to potentials $f:\{-1,1\}^\mathbb{N} \to \mathbb{R}$ of the form $$

Consider a fixed continuous potential $τ:S^1=[0,1) \to \mathbb{R}$, $ν\in \mathbb{R}$ and $\varphi:S^1 \to \mathbb{C}$ (a quantum state). The transformation $\hat F_ν$ acting on $\varphi:S^1 \to \mathbb{C}$, $\hat F_ν(\varphi) = φ$, defined by $\displaystyle φ(z) = \hat F_ν (\varphi(z)) = \varphi(f(z))e^{iντ(z)}$ describes a discrete time dynamical evolution of the quantum state $\varphi$. Given $S: \mathbb{R}\to \mathbb{R}$ we define the Lagrangian state $$\varphi_{x}^S(z) = \sum_{k\in\mathbb{Z}} e^{\frac{iS (z-k)}{\hbar}} e^{-\frac{(z-k-x)^2}{4\hbar}}.$$ In this case $\hat F_ν(\varphi_{x}^S(z)) = \sum_{k\in\mathbb{Z}}e^{\frac{iS (f(z)-k)}{\hbar}}e^{-\frac{(f(z)-k-x)^2}{4\hbar}}e^{iντ(z)}$. Under suitable conditions on $S$ the micro-support of $\varphi^S_x (z)$, when $\hbar \to 0$, is $(x,S'(x))$. One of meanings of the semiclassical limit in Quantum Mechanics is to take $ν=\frac{1}{\hbar}$ and $\hbar \to 0$. We address the question of finding $S$ such that $\varphi^S_x$ satisfies the property: $ \forall x$, we have that $\hat{F}_ν(\varphi^S_x)$ has micro-support on the graph of $y\to S'(y)$ (which is the micro-support of $\varphi^S_x$). In other words: which $S$ is such that $\hat{F}_ν$ leaves the micro-support of $\varphi^S_x$ invariant? This is related to a coboundary equation for $τ$, twist conditions and the boundary of the fat attractor.

The main interest is to know what happen when we repeat several times the action of $Φ$ in an initial fixed density operator $Q_0$. This procedure is known as random repeated quantum iterations and is of course related to the existence of one or more fixed points for $Φ$. In \cite{NP}, among other things, the authors show that for a fixed $β$ there exists a set of full probability for the Haar measure such that the unitary operator $U$ satisfies the property that for the associated $Φ$ there is a unique fixed point $ Q_Φ$. Moreover, there exists convergence of the iterates $Φ^n (Q_0) \to Q_Φ$, when $n \to \infty$, for any given $Q_0$ We show here that there is an open and dense set of unitary operators $U: \mathbb{C}^n \otimes \mathbb{C}^n \to \mathbb{C}^n \otimes \mathbb{C}^n $ such that the associated $Φ$ has a unique fixed point. We consider a family of potentials f, derived from the Hofbauer potentials, on the symbolic space Omega=\{0,1\}^\mathbb{N} and the shift mapping $σ$ acting on it. A Ruelle operator framework is employed to show there is a phase transition when the temperature varies in the following senses: the pressure is not analytic, there are multiple eigenprobabilities for the dual of the Ruelle operator, the DLR-Gibbs measure is not unique and finally the Thermodynamic Limit is not unique. Additionally, we explicitly calculate the critical points for these phase transitions. Some examples which are not of Hofbauer type are also considered. The non-uniqueness of the Thermodynamic Limit is proved by considering a version of a Renewal Equation. We also show that the correlations decay polynomially and that each one of these Hofbauer potentials is a fixed point for a certain renormalization transformation.

In this paper, we describe several different meanings for the concept of Gibbs measure on the lattice $\mathbb{N}$ in the context of finite alphabets (or state space). We compare and analyze these "in principle" distinct notions: DLR-Gibbs measures, Thermodynamic Limit and eigenprobabilities for the dual of the Ruelle operator (also called conformal measures).
Among other things we extended the classical notion of a Gibbsian specification on $\mathbb{N}$ in such way that the similarity of many results in Statistical Mechanics and Dynamical System becomes apparent. One of our main result claims that the construction of the conformal Measures in Dynamical Systems for Walters potentials, using the Ruelle operator, can be formulated in terms of Specification. We also describe the Ising model, with $1/r^{2+\varepsilon}$ interaction energy, in the Thermodynamic Formalism setting and prove that its associated potential is in Walters space - we present an explicit expression. We also provide an alternative way for obtaining the uniqueness of the DLR-Gibbs measures.

Abstract:
For, $0<λ<1$, consider the transformation $T(x) = d x $ (mod 1) on the circle $S^1$, a $C^1$ function $A:S^1 \to \mathbb{R}$, and, the map $F(x,s) = ( T(x) , λ\, s + A(x))$, $(x,s)\in S^1 \times \mathbb{R}$. We denote $\mathcal{B}= \mathcal{B}_λ$ the upper boundary of the attractor (known as fat attractor). We are interested in the regularity of $\mathcal{B}_λ$, and, also in what happens in the limit when $λ\to 1$. We also address the analysis of the following conjecture which were proposed by R. Bamón, J. Kiwi, J. Rivera-Letelier and R. Urzúa: for any fixed $λ$, $C^1$ generically on the potential $A$, the upper boundary $\mathcal{B}_λ$ is formed by a finite number of pieces of smooth unstable manifolds of periodic orbits for $F$. We show the proof of the conjecture for the class of $C^2$ potentials $A(x)$ satisfying the twist condition (plus a combinatorial condition). We do not need the generic hypothesis for this result. We present explicit examples. On the other hand, when $λ$ is close to $1$ and the potential $A$ is generic a more precise description can be done. In this case the finite number of pieces of $C^1$ curves on the boundary have some special properties. Having a finite number of pieces on this boundary is an important issue in a problem related to semi-classical limits and micro-support. This was consider in a recent published work by A. Lopes and J. Mohr. Finally, we present the general analysis of the case where $A$ is Lipschitz and its relation with Ergodic Transport

Abstract:
We consider a family of continuous time symmetric random walks indexed by $k\in \mathbb{N}$, $\{X_k(t),\,t\geq 0\}$. We consider a family of continuous time symmetric random walks indexed by $k\in \mathbb{N}$, $\{X_k(t),\,t\geq 0\}$. For each $k\in \mathbb{N}$ the matching random walk take values in the finite set of states $Γ_k=\frac{1}{k}(\mathbb{Z}/k\mathbb{Z})$ which is a subset of the unitary circle. The stationary probability for such process converges to the uniform distribution on the circle, when $k\to \infty$.
We disturb the system considering a fixed $C^2$ potential $V: \mathbb{S}^1 \to \mathbb{R}$ and we will denote by $V_k$ the restriction of $V$ to $Γ_k$. Then, we define a non-stochastic semigroup generated by the matrix $k\,\, L_k + k\,\, V_k$, where $k\,\, L_k $ is the infinifesimal generator of $\{X_k(t),\,t\geq 0\}$. From the continuous time Perron's Theorem one can normalized such semigroup, and, then we get another stochastic semigroup which generates a continuous time Markov Chain taking values on $Γ_k$. The stationary probability vector for such Markov Chain is denoted by $π_{k,V}$. We assume that the maximum of $V$ is attained in a unique point $x_0$ of $\mathbb{S}^1$, and from this will follow that $π_{k,V}\to δ_{x_0}$. Our main goal is to analyze the large deviation principle for the family $π_{k,V}$, when $k \to\infty$. The deviation function $I^V$, which is defined on $ \mathbb{S}^1$, will be obtained from a procedure based on fixed points of the Lax-Oleinik operator and Aubry-Mather theory.
