This paper presents an approach for surgical phase recognition using video data, aiming to provide a comprehensive understanding of surgical procedures for automated workflow analysis. The advent of robotic surgery, digitized operating rooms, and the generation of vast amounts of data have opened doors for the application of machine learning and computer vision in the analysis of surgical videos. Among these advancements, Surgical Phase Recognition(SPR) stands out as an emerging technology that has the potential to recognize and assess the ongoing surgical scenario, summarize the surgery, evaluate surgical skills, offer surgical decision support, and facilitate medical training. In this paper, we analyse and evaluate both frame-based and video clipping-based phase recognition on thoracic surgery dataset consisting of 11 classes of phases. Specifically, we utilize ImageNet ViT for image-based classification and VideoMAE as the baseline model for video-based classification. We show that Masked Video Distillation(MVD) exhibits superior performance, achieving a top-1 accuracy of 72.9%, compared to 52.31% achieved by ImageNet ViT. These findings underscore the efficacy of video-based classifiers over their image-based counterparts in surgical phase recognition tasks.

Machine learning is increasingly being used to generate prediction models for use in a number of real-world settings, from credit risk assessment to clinical decision support. Recent discussions have highlighted potential problems in the updating of a predictive score for a binary outcome when an existing predictive score forms part of the standard workflow, driving interventions. In this setting, the existing score induces an additional causative pathway which leads to miscalibration when the original score is replaced. We propose a general causal framework to describe and address this problem, and demonstrate an equivalent formulation as a partially observed Markov decision process. We use this model to demonstrate the impact of such `naive updating' when performed repeatedly. Namely, we show that successive predictive scores may converge to a point where they predict their own effect, or may eventually tend toward a stable oscillation between two values, and we argue that neither outcome is desirable. Furthermore, we demonstrate that even if model-fitting procedures improve, actual performance may worsen. We complement these findings with a discussion of several potential routes to overcome these issues.

Machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI) and other modern statistical methods are providing new opportunities to operationalize previously untapped and rapidly growing sources of data for patient benefit. Whilst there is a lot of promising research currently being undertaken, the literature as a whole lacks: transparency; clear reporting to facilitate replicability; exploration for potential ethical concerns; and, clear demonstrations of effectiveness. There are many reasons for why these issues exist, but one of the most important that we provide a preliminary solution for here is the current lack of ML/AI- specific best practice guidance. Although there is no consensus on what best practice looks in this field, we believe that interdisciplinary groups pursuing research and impact projects in the ML/AI for health domain would benefit from answering a series of questions based on the important issues that exist when undertaking work of this nature. Here we present 20 questions that span the entire project life cycle, from inception, data analysis, and model evaluation, to implementation, as a means to facilitate project planning and post-hoc (structured) independent evaluation. By beginning to answer these questions in different settings, we can start to understand what constitutes a good answer, and we expect that the resulting discussion will be central to developing an international consensus framework for transparent, replicable, ethical and effective research in artificial intelligence (AI-TREE) for health.

Wireless networking allows users to access information and services regardless of location and physical infrastructure. It is a fast growing technology due to its availability of wireless devices, flexibility, ease of installation and configuration. With this rapid expansion of information and Communication Technology (ICT), the consumption of energy is also increasing. In the early age of wireless technology, computing infrastructure focused on everywhere access, capacity and speed of technology. But now computing infrastructure should be energy efficient because, in wireless networking, devices are mostly powered by a battery that is a limited source of energy and is a challenge for the researchers. In computing infrastructure energy saving and environmental protection has become a global demand. This paper proposed a computing infrastructure based on green computing for energy efficient wireless networking. Further, some challenges and techniques like power consumption in network architecture, algorithm efficiency, virtualization, and dynamic power saving will be discussed to make energy efficient computing infrastructure.

E governments all around the world have different objectives and follow different models for e government development. Present models examined and found less than satisfactory to guide e-government implementation. This research proposed a hybrid model from Citizen comprehensive vision acknowledged the civic idea and The strategic framework of e-government models. The procedure of merging different computational knowledge systems to assemble a solitary crossover show has turned out to be progressively prominent. The execution files of these mixture models have ended up being superior to the individual segments when utilized alone. To ensure that the proposed model is more efficient and beneficial a survey study conducted. Survey based on questionnaires and results calculated by applying statistics on data gathered from survey.

With the passage of time and indulgence in Information Technology, network management has proved its significance and has become one of the most important and challenging task in today's era of information flow. Communication networks implement a high level of sophistication in managing and flowing the data through secure channels, to make it almost impossible for data loss. That is why there are many proposed solution that are currently implemented in wide range of network-based applications like social networks and finance applications. The objective of this research paper is to propose a very reliable method of data flow: Choose best path for traffic using SDN application. This is an IP based method in which our SDN application implements provision of best possible path by filtering the requests on base of their IP origin. We'll distinguish among source and will provide the data flow with lowest traffic path, thus resulting in providing us minimum chances of data loss. A request to access our test application will be generated from host and request from each host will be distinguished by our SDN application that will get number of active users for all available servers and will redirect the request to server with minimum traffic load. It will also destroy sessions of inactive users, resulting in maintaining a best responsive channel for data flow.

Background Information: Falls are associated with high direct and indirect costs, and significant morbidity and mortality for patients. Pathological falls are usually a result of a compromised motor system, and/or cognition. Very little research has been conducted on predicting falls based on this premise.
Aims: To demonstrate that cognitive and motor tests can be used to create a robust predictive tool for falls.
Methods: Three tests of attention and executive function (Stroop, Trail Making, and Semantic Fluency), a measure of physical function (Walk-12), a series of questions (concerning recent falls, surgery and physical function) and demographic information were collected from a cohort of 323 patients at a tertiary neurological center. The principal outcome was a fall during the in-patient stay (n = 54). Data-driven, predictive modelling was employed to identify the statistical modelling strategies which are most accurate in predicting falls, and which yield the most parsimonious models of clinical relevance.
Results: The Trail test was identified as the best predictor of falls. Moreover, addition of any others variables, to the results of the Trail test did not improve the prediction (Wilcoxon signed-rank p < .001). The best statistical strategy for predicting falls was the random forest (Wilcoxon signed-rank p < .001), based solely on results of the Trail test. Tuning of the model results in the following optimized values: 68% (+- 7.7) sensitivity, 90% (+- 2.3) specificity, with a positive predictive value of 60%, when the relevant data is available.
Conclusion: Predictive modelling has identified a simple yet powerful machine learning prediction strategy based on a single clinical test, the Trail test. Predictive evaluation shows this strategy to be robust, suggesting predictive modelling and machine learning as the standard for future predictive tools.

Software reliability regarding maintenance is the most crucial part as it depends upon the time and cost to correct the errors and make enchantements. It is often felt that software errors or correction takes time to be removed. The maintenance time depends upon the nature of the occurred errors and requested enhancements. In this research work we predict the software reliability in terms of time taken to maintain the errors and enhancements. Artificial Neural Network is used to analyze and predict the software reliability of the maintenance phase. At the end statistical results and proposed neural network results are also compared to make sure that forecasted results are equal to the output results. These results are compared to show that the ANN can understand the relationship between data in a better way. This research work also shows how much it is difficult to understand the nature of maintenance data.
