Mixed-anion mixed-cation perovskites with (FAPbI$_3$)$_{1-x}$(MAPbBr$_3$)$_x$ composition have allowed record efficiencies in photovoltaic solar cells, but their atomic-scale behaviour is not well understood yet, in part because their theoretical modelling requires consideration of complex and interrelated dynamic and disordering effects. We present here an ab initio molecular dynamics investigation of the structural, thermodynamic, and electronic properties of the (FAPbI$_3$)$_{0.875}$(MAPbBr$_3$)$_{0.125}$ perovskite. A special quasi-random structure is proposed to mimic the disorder of both the molecular cations and the halide anions, in a stoichiometry that is close to that of one of today's most efficient perovskite solar cells. We show that the rotation of the organic cations is more strongly hindered in the mixed structure in comparison with the pure compounds. Our analysis suggests that this mixed perovskite is thermodynamically stable against phase separation despite the endothermic mixing enthalpy, due to the large configurational entropy. The electronic properties are investigated by hybrid density functional calculations including spin-orbit coupling in carefully selected representative configurations extracted from the molecular dynamics. Our model, that is validated here against experimental information, provides a more sophisticated understanding of the interplay between dynamic and disordering effects in this important family of photovoltaic materials.

Abstract:
We compute the spherically-averaged power spectrum from four seasons of data obtained for the Epoch of Reionisation (EoR) project observed with the Murchison Widefield Array (MWA). We measure the EoR power spectrum over $k= 0.07-3.0~h$Mpc$^{-1}$ at redshifts $z=6.5-8.7$. The largest aggregation of 110 hours on EoR0 high-band (3,340 observations), yields a lowest measurement of (43~mK)$^2$ = 1.8…

We measure the EoR power spectrum over $k= 0.07-3.0~h$Mpc$^{-1}$ at redshifts $z=6.5-8.7$. The largest aggregation of 110 hours on EoR0 high-band (3,340 observations), yields a lowest measurement of (43~mK)$^2$ = 1.8$\times$10$^3$ mK$^2$ at $k$=0.14~$h$Mpc$^{-1}$ and $z=6.5$ (2$σ$ thermal noise plus sample variance). Using the Real-Time System to calibrate and the CHIPS pipeline to estimate power spectra, we select the best observations from the central five pointings within the 2013--2016 observing seasons, observing three independent fields and in two frequency bands. This yields 13,591 2-minute snapshots (453 hours), based on a quality assurance metric that measures ionospheric activity. We perform another cut to remove poorly-calibrated data, based on power in the foreground-dominated and EoR-dominated regions of the two-dimensional power spectrum, reducing the set to 12,569 observations (419 hours). These data are processed in groups of 20 observations, to retain the capacity to identify poor data, and used to analyse the evolution and structure of the data over field, frequency, and data quality. We subsequently choose the cleanest 8,935 observations (298 hours of data) to form integrated power spectra over the different fields, pointings and redshift ranges.

By calculating optimized versions of the van Loock-Furusawa correlations we demonstrate genuine quadripartite entanglement and investigate the degree of entanglement present. Above the oscillation threshold the basic cluster state geometry under consideration suffers from phase diffusion. We alleviate this problem by incorporating a small injected signal into our analysis. Finally, we investigate squeezed joint operators. While the squeezed joint operators approach zero in the undepleted regime, we find that this is not the case when we consider the full interaction Hamiltonian and the presence of a cavity. In fact, we find that the decay of these operators is minimal in a cavity, and even depletion alone inhibits cluster state formation.

We verify that quadripartite entanglement is present in this system by calculating the output fluctuation spectra and then considering violations of optimized inequalities of the van Loock-Furusawa type. The entanglement characteristics both above and below the oscillation threshold are considered. We also present analytic solutions for the quadrature operators and the van Loock-Furusawa correlations in the undepleted pump approximation.

Asymmetric steering is an effect whereby an inseparable bipartite system can be found to be described by either quantum mechanics or local hidden variable theories depending on which one of Alice or Bob makes the required measurements. We show that, even with an inseparable bipartite system, situations can arise where Gaussian measurements on one half are not sufficient to answer the fundamental question of which theory gives an adequate description and the whole system must be considered. This phenomenon is possible because of an asymmetry in the definition of the original Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox and in this article we show theoretically that it may be demonstrated, at least in the case where Alice and Bob can only make Gaussian measurements, using the intracavity nonlinear coupler.

We describe a pairing mean-field theory related to the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov approach, and apply it to the dynamics of dissociation of a molecular Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) into correlated bosonic atom pairs. We also perform the same simulation using two stochastic phase-space techniques for quantum dynamics -- the positive P-representation method and the truncated Wigner method. By comparing the results of our calculations we are able to assess the relative strength of these theoretical techniques in describing molecular dissociation in one spatial dimension. An important aspect of our analysis is the inclusion of atom-atom interactions which can be problematic for the positive-P method. We find that the truncated Wigner method mostly agrees with the positive-P simulations, but can be simulated for significantly longer times. The pairing mean-field theory results diverge from the quantum dynamical methods after relatively short times.

We present two-dimensional slab-jet simulations of jets in inhomogeneous media consisting of a tenuous hot medium populated with a small filling factor by warm, dense clouds. The simulations are relevant to the structure and dynamics of sources such as Gigahertz Peak Spectrum and Compact Steep Spectrum radio galaxies, High Redshift Radio Galaxies and radio galaxies in cooling flows. The jets are disrupted to a degree depending upon the filling factor of the clouds. With a small filling factor, the jet retains some forward momentum but also forms a halo or bubble around the source. At larger filling factors channels are formed in the cloud distribution through which the jet plasma flows and a hierarchical structure consisting of nested lobes and an outer enclosing bubble results. We suggest that the CSS quasar 3C48 is an example of a low filling factor jet - interstellar medium interaction whilst M87 may be an example of the higher filling factor type of interaction. Jet disruption occurs primarily as a result of Kelvin-Helmholtz instabilities driven by turbulence in the radio cocoon not through direct jet-cloud interactions, although there are some examples of these. In all radio galaxies whose morphology may be the result of jet interactions with an inhomogeneous interstellar medium we expect that the dense clouds will be optically observable as a result of radiative shocks driven by the pressure of the radio cocoon. We also expect that the radio galaxies will possess faint haloes of radio emitting material well beyond the observable jet structure.
