In this paper we study black string solutions considering the Lifshitz anisotropic scaling. We have shown that a new class of asymptotically Lifshitz solutions can be generated by an Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton theory with a cosmological constant. In the limit where we recover conformal scale invariance, we retrieve the usual black string solution. Furthermore, we demonstrated that to incorporate the effects of electric charge in the black string, at least two independent gauge fields coupled to the dilaton field are necessary. The charged black string solution exhibits new horizons that depend on the potential in Lifshitz exponent $z$. The stability of these new solutions is investigated through the thermodynamic analysis of the charged black string. The temperature, entropy, and heat capacity indicate that these modified black strings are thermodynamically stable.

In this work, we explore the strain and curvature effects on the electronic properties of a curved graphene structure, called the graphene wormhole. The electron dynamics is described by a massless Dirac fermion containing position--dependent Fermi velocity. In addition, the strain produces a pseudo--magnetic vector potential to the geometric coupling. For an isotropic strain tensor, the decoupled components of the spinor field exhibit a supersymmetric (SUSY) potential, depending on the centrifugal term and the external magnetic field only. In the absence of a external magnetic field, the strain yields to an exponential damped amplitude, whereas the curvature leads to a power--law damping of the wave function. The spin--curvature coupling breaks the chiral symmetry between the upper and the lower spinor component, which leads to the increasing of the wave function on either upper or lower region of the wormhole, i.e., depending on the spin number. By adding an uniform magnetic field, the effective potential exhibits an asymptotic quadratic profile and a spin--curvature barrier near the throat. As a result, the bound states (Landau levels) are confined around the wormhole throat showing an asymmetric and spin--dependent profile.

Einstenian cubic gravity (ECG) is a modified theory of gravity constructed with cubic contractions of the curvature tensor. This theory has the remarkable feature of having the same two propagating degrees of freedom of Einstein gravity (EG), at the perturbative level on maximally symmetric spacetimes. The additional unstable modes steaming from the higher order derivative dynamics are suppressed provided that we consider the ECG as an effective field theory wherein the cubic terms are seen as perturbative corrections of the Einstein-Hilbert term. Extensions of ECG have been proposed in cosmology and compact objects in order to probe if this property holds in more general configurations. In this work, we construct a modified ECG gravity in a five dimensional warped braneworld scenario. By assuming a specific combination of the cubic parameters, we obtained modified gravity equations of motion with terms up to second-order. For a thin 3-brane, the cubic-gravity corrections yield an effective positive bulk cosmological constant. Thus, in order to keep the 5D bulk warped compact, an upper bound of the cubic parameter with respect to the bulk curvature was imposed. For a thick brane, the cubic-gravity terms modify the scalar field potential and its corresponding vacuum. Nonetheless, the domain-wall structure with a localized source is preserved. At the perturbative level, the Kaluza-Klein (KK) tensor gravitational modes are stable and possess a localized massless mode provided the cubic corrections are small compared to the EG braneworld.

We investigate the effects of the curved geometry on a massless relativistic electron constrained to a graphene strip with a Moebius strip shape. The anisotropic and parity-violating geometry of the Moebius band produces a geometric potential that inherits these features. By considering wires along the strip width and the strip length, we find exact solutions for the Dirac equation and the effects of the geometric potential on the electron were explored. In both cases, the geometric potential yields to a geometric phase on the wave function. Along the strip width, the density of states depends on the direction chosen for the wire, a consequence of the lack of axial symmetry. Moreover, the breaking of the parity symmetry enables the electronic states to be concentrated on the inner or on the outer portion of the strip. For wires along the strip length, the nontrivial topology influences the eigenfunctions by modifying their periodicity. It turns out that the ground state has a period of $4π$ whereas the first excited state is a $2π$ periodic function. Moreover, we found that the energy levels are half-integer multiples of the energy of the ground state.

We investigate the critical behavior of Lifshitz black holes in Einstein-dilaton gravity in the context of spontaneous Lorentz symmetry breaking. Considering the effects of both the bumblebee vacuum expectation value (VEV) and the fluctuations over the VEV, we obtained new asymptotically Lifshitz charged solutions in (3 + 1) dimensions. We consider the longitudinal massive mode of Lorentz Violation (LV) as thermodynamic pressure, leading us to establish an P-V extended phase space. Within this framework, we derive the equation of state P(T,V), and subsequently identify the critical points, which manifest as discontinuities in the specific heat at constant pressure. Following this, we compute the Gibbs free energy, revealing a first-order phase transition within the model. Finally, we determine the critical exponents, demonstrating their equivalence to those observed in the Van der Waals system.

For a vanishing dilaton, the black hole turned out to be a charged de Sitter-Reissner-Nordstrom solution, where the transverse mode is the Maxwell field and the longitudinal mode is the cosmological constant. The stability of these new solutions is investigated by means of the analysis of the black hole thermodynamics. We investigate the effects of the Einstein cubic gravity (ECG) on regular black hole solutions driven by nonlinear electrodynamics (NLE) sources. The ECG tends to form a naked singularity at the origin for a high ECG coupling constant. Assuming that ECG provides only perturbative corrections to the regular magnetic charged solutions, we found modified regular solutions with a de Sitter-like core whose cosmological constant depends on the magnetic charge and the ECG coupling constant. The thermodynamic stability is investigated by means of the Hawking temperature and the heat capacity. In fact, for a small charge and ECG coupling, the Hawking temperature is regularized, leaving a thermodynamic stable remnant for a small $r_h \neq 0$. The heat capacity reveals that the ECG regular black hole undergoes a phase transition between an unstable into a stable configuration.

We study the properties of a two-dimensional non-relativistic electron gas (TDEG) constrained on wires along a Möbius strip. We considered wires around the strip and along the transverse direction, across the width of the strip. For each direction, we investigate how the curvature modifies the electronic states and their corresponding energy spectrum. At the center of the strip, the wires around the surface form quantum rings whose spectrum depends on the strip radius $a$. For wires at the edge of the strip, the inner edge turns into the outer edge. Accordingly, the curvature yields localized states in the middle of the wire. Along the strip width, the effective potential exhibits a parity symmetry breaking leading to the localization of the bound state on one side of the strip.

By varying it, there exist an expressive modification in the thermodynamic state quantities, exhibiting both usual matter and dark energy--like behaviors. Finally, the interactions are regarded to the energy density and it seems to indicate that it "cures" the dark energy--like features.

We propose a local Lorentz violating dynamics in the gravitational sector in the STEGR framework. The Lorentz violation is trigged by the vacuum expectation value (vev) of the well-known bumblebee field, whose vev couples to the nonmetricity tensor. In this paper we study the possibility of non-relativistic quantum particles to traverse the generalized Ellis-Bronnikov wormholes by considering quantum effects, such as tunneling. We have used the generalized Ellis-Bronnikov wormhole metric and found that for $n=2$ we have a single barrier shaped effective potential centered at the throat of the wormhole for any value of orbital angular momentum. For $n\neq2$ we have a symmetric double barrier shaped potential when the orbital angular momentum is zero and a single barrier for nonzero angular orbital momentum. Analytical solutions for the Schrödinger equation in the generalized Ellis-Bronnikov spacetime could be found only for $n=2$. Such solutions were given in terms of the confluent Heun functions. Finally, by using a delta-barrier approximation we could find the transmission and reflection coefficients for a non-relativistic particle to traverse the generalized Ellis-Bronnikov wormhole.

We propose a braneworld scenario in a modified symmetric teleparallel gravitational theory, where the dynamics for the gravitational field is encoded in the nonmetricity tensor rather than in the curvature. Assuming a single real scalar field with a sine-Gordon self-interaction, the generalized quadratic nonmetricity invariant $\mathbb{Q}$ controls the brane width while keeping the shape of the energy density. By considering power corrections of the invariant $\mathbb{Q}$ in the gravitational Lagrangian, the sine-Gordon potential is modified exhibiting new barriers and false vacuum. As a result, the domain wall brane obtains an inner structure, and it undergoes a splitting process. In addition, we also propose a non-minimal coupling between a bulk fermion field and the nonmetricity invariant $\mathbb{Q}$. Such geometric coupling leads to a massless chiral fermion bound to the 3-brane and a stable tower of non-localized massive states.

We investigated the effects of the spacetime curvature and extra dimensions on the excitations of a self-interacting vector field known as the bumblebee field. The self-interacting quadratic potential breaks the gauge invariance and the vacuum expectation value (VEV) of the bumblebee field $b_M$ violates the local particle Lorentz symmetry. By assuming the bumblebee field living in a $AdS_{5}$ bulk, we found an exponential suppression of the self-interacting constant $λ$ and the bumblebee VEV along the extra dimension. The fluctuations of the bumblebee upon the VEV can be decomposed into transverse and longitudinal modes with respect to $b_{M}$. Despite the curvature, the transverse mode acquires massive Kaluza-Klein towers, while the longitudinal mode acquires LV mass $λb^{2}$. On the other hand, the current conservation law prevents massive Kaluza-Klein modes for the longitudinal mode. For a spacelike $b_{M}$ along the extra dimension and assuming a FRW 3-brane embedded in the $AdS_{5}$ yields to an additional dissipative term to the longitudinal mode. The cosmological expansion leads to decay of the longitudinal mode in a time $Δt \approx H^{-1}$, where $H=\dot{a}/a$ is the Hubble parameter and $a(t)$ is the scale factor. For a timelike $b_{M}$, the longitudinal mode does not propagate on the brane and its amplitude decays in time with $a^{-3}$ and in the extra dimension with $z^{-λb^{2}l^{2}}$.

In this paper, we study the thick brane scenario constructed in the recently proposed $f(T,\mathcal{T})$ theories of gravity, where $T$ is called the torsion scalar, and $\mathcal{T}$ is the trace of the energy-momentum tensor. We use the first-order formalism to find analytical solutions for models that include a scalar field as a source. In particular, we describe two interesting cases in which, in the first, we obtain a double-kink solution, which generates a splitting in the brane. In the second case, proper management of a kink solution obtained generates a splitting in the brane intensified by the torsion parameter, evinced by the energy density components satisfying the weak and strong energy conditions. In addition, we investigate the behavior of the gravitational perturbations in this scenario. The parameters that control the torsion and the trace of the energy-momentum tensor tend to shift the massive modes to the core of the brane, keeping a gapless non-localizable and stable tower of massive modes and producing more localized massless modes.

We present the detection and characterisation of mesoscale waves on the lower clouds of Venus using images from the Visible Infrared Thermal Imaging Spectrometer onboard the European Venus Express space mission and from the 2 $μ$m camera (IR2) instrument onboard the Japanese space mission Akatsuki. We used image navigation and processing techniques based on contrast enhancement and geometrical projections to characterise morphological properties of the detected waves, such as horizontal wavelength and the relative optical thickness drop between crests and troughs. Additionally, we performed phase velocity and trajectory tracking of wave packets. We combined these observations to derive other properties of the waves such as the vertical wavelength of detected packets. Our observations include 13 months of data from August 2007 to October 2008, and the entire available data set of IR2 from January to November 2016.We characterised almost 300 wave packets across more than 5500 images over a broad region of the globe of Venus. Our results show a wide range of properties and are not only consistent with previous observations but also expand upon them, taking advantage of two instruments that target the same cloud layer of Venus across multiple periods. In general, waves observed on the nightside lower cloud are of a larger scale than the gravity waves reported in the upper cloud. This paper is intended to provide a more in-depth view of atmospheric gravity waves on the lower cloud and enable follow-up works on their influence in the general circulation of Venus.

In this work, we discuss braneworld models whose gravitational dynamics are governed by teleparallel $f(T)$ gravities. Here, we emphasize a codimension two axisymmetric model, also known as a string-like brane. Likewise, in the 5D domain-walls models, the $f(T)$ gravitational modification leads to a phase transition on the perfect fluid source providing a brane-splitting mechanism. Furthermore, the torsion changes the gravitational perturbations. The torsion produces new potential wells inside the brane core leading to a massless mode more localized around the ring structures. We propose a position-dependent mass (PDM) as a function of both gaussian and mean curvature. The hamiltonian exhibits parity and time-reversal steaming from the bridge symmetry. The effective potential contains the da Costa, centrifugal and PDM terms which are concentrated around the catenoid bridge. For zero angular momentum states, the PDM term provides a transition between a reflectionless to a double-well potential. As a result, the bound states undergo a transition from a single state around the bridge throat into two states each one located at rings around the bridge. Above some critical value of the PDM coupling constant, the degeneracy is restored due to double-well tunneling resonance.

The analysis of the energy density condition reveals a splitting brane process satisfying the weak and strong energy conditions for some values of the parameters n_{1,2} and k_{1,2}. In addition, we investigate the behavior of the gravitational perturbations in this scenario. In the bulk, the torsion keeps a gapless non-localizable, and stable tower of massive modes. Inside the brane core, the torsion produces new barriers and potential wells, leading to small amplitude massive modes and a massless mode localized for some values of the parameters n_{1,2} and k_{1,2}.

Finsler geometry is a natural arena to investigate the physics of spacetimes with local Lorentz violating. The directional dependence of the Finsler metric provides a way to encode the Lorentz violating effects into the geometric structure of spacetime. Here, a classical field theory is proposed in a special Finsler geometry, the so-called Randers-Finsler spacetime, where the Lorentz violation is produced by a background vector field. By promoting the Randers-Finsler metric to a differential operator, a Finsler-invariant action for the scalar, gauge and fermions are proposed. The theory contains nonlocal terms, as in the Very Special Relativity based theories. By expanding the Lagrangian, minimal and nonminimal Standard Model Extension terms arises, revealing a perturbative Lorentz violation. For a CPT-even term, the Carrol-Field-Jackiw and derivative extensions are obtained.

We propose a codimension two warped braneworld model within the teleparallel $f(T)$ gravity. By assuming a global vortex as the source, we found a $l=0$ vortex solution that yields to a thick string-like brane. Asymptotically, the bulk geometry converges to an $AdS_6$ spacetime whose cosmological constant is produced by the torsion parameters. Furthermore, the torsion induces an $AdS-dS$ transition on the exterior region. Inside the brane core, the torsion produces an internal structure even for a single complex scalar field. As the torsion parameters vary, the brane undergoes a phase transition leading to the formation of ring-like structures. The bulk-brane Planck mass ration is modified by the torsion. The analysis of the stress energy condition reveals a splitting brane process satisfying the weak and strong energy conditions for some values of the parameters. In addition, we investigate the behaviour of the gravitational perturbations in this scenario. It turns out that the gravitational spectrum has a linear behaviour for small masses and is independent of the torsion parameters for large masses. In the bulk, the torsion keeps a gapless non-localizable and stable tower of massive modes. Inside the brane core the torsion produces new barriers and potential wells leading to small amplitude massive modes and a massless mode localized around the ring structures.

In this work, we revisit the duality between a self-dual non-gauge invariant theory and a topological massive theory in $3+1$ dimensions. The self-dual Lagrangian is composed by a vector field and an antisymmetric field tensor whereas the topological massive Lagrangian is build using a $B \wedge F$ term. Though the Lagrangians are quite different, they yield to equations of motion that are connected by a simple dual mapping among the fields. We discuss this duality by analyzing the degrees of freedom in both theories and comparing their propagating modes at the classical level. Moreover, we employ the master action method to obtain a fundamental Lagrangian that interpolates between these two theories and makes evident the role of the topological $B \wedge F$ term in the duality relation. By coupling these theories with matter fields, we show that the duality holds provided a Thirring-like term is included. In addition, we use the master action in order to probe the duality upon the quantized fields. We carried out a functional integration of the fields and compared the resulting effective Lagrangians.

The curvature induces a symmetrical reflectionless potential well around the bridge with one bound-state for $m=0$. For $m\neq 0$, a centrifugal potential barrier arises controlling the tunnelling between the layers. An external electric field breaks the parity symmetry and provides a barrier that controls the conductance from one layer to another. By applying a constant magnetic field the effective potential exhibits a confining double-well potential nearby the bridge. We obtain the corresponding bound states and study the effects of the curvature on the Landau levels.

The Kalb-Ramond VEV is a background tensor field which produces a local Lorentz symmetry breaking (LSB) of spacetime. Considering a non-minimal coupling between the Kalb-Ramond (VEV) and the Ricci tensor, we obtain an exact parameter-dependent power-law modified black hole. For a particular choice of the LSB parameter, the Lorentz violation produces a solution similar to the Reissner-Nordstrom, despite the absence of charge. The near-horizon geometry is modified by including a new inner horizon and shifting the Schwarzschild horizon. Asymptotically, the usual Minkowski spacetime with a background tensor field is recovered. The vacuum configurations are studied considering the energy conditions and the Lorentz violating source properties. By means of the mercury perihelion test, an upper bound to the local Lorentz violation (LV) is obtained, and its corresponding effects on the black hole temperature is investigated.

For a vector as the derivative of a scalar field, we find new isotropic and anisotropic thick brane geometries. We analyse the features of bosonic and fermionic fields in this isotropic and in standing wave scenarios. The background vector provides nonminimal coupling between the field and the geometry leading to modifications in the Kaluza-Klein states. The spinor connection is modified by the torsion and a derivative Yukawa-like coupling is proposed. The effects of these new couplings are investigated.

The privileged frame defined by the background vector diagonalises the deformed mass-shell and provides an anisotropic observer transformations. The particle Randers transformations are achieved through the Finslerian Killing equation which also shows the equivalence between observer and particle Randers transformation. For a constant background vector, the Randers transformations can be regarded as a deformed directional-dependent Poincaré transformation. The Randers algebra is a deformed Poincaré algebra whose structure coefficients are given by the Randers metric. We propose a field theory invariant over the Randers transformations. The dynamics exhibits nonlocal operators which yields to Lorentz violating terms of the nonminimal SME. We propose a dynamics for the scalar field by a minimal coupling of the scalar field and the Finsler metric. The coupling is intrinsically defined on the Randers spacetime, and it leads to a non-canonical kinetic term for the scalar field. The nonlinear dynamics can be split into a linear and nonlinear regimes, which depend perturbatively on the even and odd powers of the Lorentz-violating parameter, respectively. We analyze the plane-waves solutions and the modified dispersion relations, and it turns out that the spectrum is free of tachyons up to second-order.

For a smooth quadratic potential, the massless excitation (Nambu-Goldstone boson) can be identified as the photon, transversal to the vacuum expectation value of the bumblebee field. Besides, there is a massive excitation associated with the longitudinal mode and whose presence leads to instability in the spectrum of the theory. By using the principal-value prescription, we show that no one-loop radiative corrections to the mass term is generated. Moreover, the bumblebee self-energy is not transverse, showing that the propagation of the longitudinal mode can not be excluded from the effective theory.

We propose a new coupling for the fermions with a background gauge field which allows a smooth and normalized massless mode in the brane with positive tension. By numerical methods the mass spectrum and the massive eigenfunctions are obtained. The Kaluza-Klein massive tower exhibits the usual increasing pattern and, in this scenario, the coupling term does not allow tachyonic Kaluza-Klein states. The brane core and the background gauge field alter the properties of the massive KK tower, enhancing the amplitude of the massive states near the origin and changing the properties of the analogue Schroedinger potential. Furthermore, we find massive modes as resonant states in this scenario for both fermionic fields.

This thick brane scenario satisfies the regularity conditions and it can be regarded as an interior and exterior string-like solution. The source undergoes a geometric Ricci flow which is connected to a variation of the bulk cosmological constant. The Ricci flow changes the width and amplitude of the massless mode at the brane core and recover the usual thin string-like behavior at large distances. By numerical means we obtain the Kaluza-Klein (KK) spectrum for both the thin brane and the string-cigar. It turns out that both models exhibit a mass gap between the massless and the massive modes and between the high and the low mass regimes. The KK modes are smooth near the brane and their amplitude are enhanced by the string-cigar core. The analogue Schrödinger potential is also tuned by the geometric flow.

In this work the gravitational Kaluza-Klein (KK) modes are analysed on string-like braneworlds in six dimensions, namely the thin string-like Gherghetta-Shaposhnikov (GS) and the thick string-cigar model. We find a new massless mode in both modes satisfying the respective Schroedinger equation. By means of numerical analysis for both models, a complete graviton spectrum and eigenfunctions is attained. Besides the linear regime, the KK spectrum exhibits a decreasing behavior with an asymmetric mass gap with respect to the massless mode. The discontinuity is bigger in the GS model, and it is invariant upon the geometrical flow. A massive mode is obtained in the GS model with a tiny mass which does not match in any regime. It turns out that in the string-cigar model, the core brane structure smoothes and amplifies the KK modes near the brane. Further, the presence of a potential well allows the existence of resonant massive gravitons for small masses in the string-cigar scenario.

It turns out that this Hamiltonian is similar to that achieved from the Standard Model Extension (SME) via coupling of the spinor field to a Lorentz-violating term, but new features arise inherited from the non-local character of the VSR. In addition, the implications of the VSR-modified Lorentz symmetry on the spectrum of a hydrogen atom are determined by calculating the first-order energy corrections in the context of standard quantum mechanics. Among the results, we highlight that the modified Hamiltonian provides non-vanishing corrections which lift the degeneracy of the energy levels and allow us to find an upper bound upon the VSR-parameter.

We have investigated the features of the gauge vector field in a braneworld scenario built as a warped product between a 3-brane and a 2-cycle of the resolved conifold. This scenario allowed us to study how the gauge field behaves when the transverse manifold evolves upon a geometric flow that controls the singularity at the origin. Besides, since the transverse manifold has a cylindrical symmetry according to the 3-brane, this geometry can be regarded as a near brane correction of the string-like branes. Indeed, by means of a new warp function and the angular metric component of the resolved conifold, the braneworld can exhibit a conical form near the origin as well as a regular behavior in that region. The analysis of the gauge field in this background has been carried out for the s-wave state and a normalizable massless mode was found. For the massive modes, the resolution parameter avoids an infinite well on the brane and controls the depth of the well and the high of the barrier around the brane. The massive modes are slightly changed near the brane but they agreed with the string-like spectrum for large distances.

Abstract:
We constructed a six-dimensional version of the standing wave model with an anisotropic 4-brane generated by a phantom-like scalar field. The model represents a braneworld where the compact (on-brane) dimension is assumed to be sufficiently small in order to describe our universe (hybrid compactification). The model represents a braneworld where the compact (on-brane) dimension is assumed to be sufficiently small in order to describe our universe (hybrid compactification). The proposed geometry of the brane and its transverse manifold is non-static, unlike the majority of braneworld models presented in the literature. Furthermore, we have shown that the zero-mode scalar field is localized around the brane. While in the string-like defect the scalar field is localized on a brane with decreasing warp factor, here it was possible to perform the localization with an increasing warp factor.

We proposed a six dimensional string-like braneworld built from a warped product between a 3-brane and the Hamilton cigar soliton space, the string-cigar braneworld. This transverse manifold is a well-known steady solution of the Ricci flow equation that describes the evolution of a manifold. The resulting bulk is an interior and exterior metric for a thick string. This is a physical and feasible scenario since the source satisfies the dominant energy condition. It is possible to realize the geometric flow as a result of variations of the matter content of the brane, actually, as its tensions. Furthermore, the Ricci flow defines a family of string-like branes and we studied the effects that the evolution of the transverse space has on the geometric and physical quantities. The geometric flow makes the cosmological constant and the relationship between the Planck masses evolves. The gravitational massless mode remains trapped to the brane and the width of the mode depends on the evolution parameter. For the Kaluza-Klein modes, the asymptotic spectrum of mass is the same as for the thin string-like brane and the analogue Schroedinger potential also changes according to the flow.

Abstract:
We have studied the localization of scalar field on a 3-brane embedded in a six dimensional warped bulk of the form $M_{4}\times C_{2}$, where $M_{4}$ is a 3-brane and $C_{2}$ is a 2-cycle of a six resolved conifold $\mathcal{C}_{6}$ over a $T^{1,1}$ space. Since the resolved conifold is singularity-free in $r=0$ depending on a resolution parameter $a$, we have analyzed the behavior of the localization of scalar field when we vary the resolution parameter. On one hand, this enable us to study the effects that a singularity has on the field. On the other hand we can use the resolution parameter as a fine-tuning between the bulk Planck mass and 3-brane Planck mass and so it opens a new perspective to extend the hierarchy problem. Using a linear and a nonlinear warp factor, we have found that the massive and massless modes are trapped to the brane even in the singular cone ($a\neq 0$). We have also compared the results obtained in this geometry and those obtained in other six-dimensional models, as string-like geometry and cigar-like universe geometry.

We have studied the resolution of a naked singularity of a conifold in heterotic theory by a BF topological defect living in a 5-brane. The singularity is removed due to Chern-Simons action that changes the Bianchi identity for the H3 3-form. Following the previous analysis of Cvetic, Lu and Pope where they have studied the resolution through an instanton defect, we have taken a conifold over an Eguchi-Hanson manifold and a harmonic self-dual 2-form related with F2 to solve the differential equation for the warp factor. Since the H3 field is related to torsion in the extra manifold, we can interpret this conifold as one with torsion. Using the so called BF term we have found a solution with the same properties of the instanton such that the conifold is smoothed out and has a torsion that diverges in IR regime and vanish in UV regime.
