We present the TESS and BVRcIc light curves solution of four low mass-ratio contact binary systems TIC 159102550), V1068 Her, MW Pav and TIC 321576458. Except MW Pav, all three systems have been studied for the first time. The period analysis of TIC 159102550 show anti-correlation between primary and secondary minima and no long term variation is reported. The systems V1068 Her and MW Pav show increasing orbital period trends. Data for TIC 321576458 is too few to determine any periodic variations. The light curve analysis using Wilson-Divinney model shows that systems are low mass-ratio contact binaries. Out of four targets, two systems TIC 159102550 and V1068 Her, are shallow contact binary systems with fill-out factor of 20% and 14%, respectively. The two contact binaries MW Pav and TIC 321576458 are in deep contact state with fill-out factor 63% and 61%, respectively. V1068 Her shows EB-type light curve, however the temperature difference between the primary secondary component is only 17K, which indicates that system is in thermal contact. To understand the evolutionary status of these systems, the components are plotted on the mass-luminosity diagram. The primary companions are in the ZAMS zone while the secondary components of all the systems are away from TAMS which indicates that secondary is more evolved than the primary components. V1068 Her and MW Pav are expected to evolve into a single rapidly rotating star provided that they meet the well-know Hut's criterion. Through statistical investigation of more than hundred low mass-ratio contact binary systems including our targets, we have found that all of the low mass-ratio contact binaries have undergone the mass-ratio inversion process. Based on our sample, the relationship between mass ratio and spin and orbital angular momentum ratio has been updated and proposed a new value of qmin = 0.0388 for Darwin's stability.

Spectra of 76 known dwarf novae from the LAMOST survey were presented. Most of the objects were observed in quiescence, and about 16 systems have typical outburst spectra. 36 of these systems were observed by SDSS, and most of their spectra are similar to the SDSS spectra. 2 objects, V367 Peg and V537 Peg, are the first to observe their spectra. The spectrum of V367 Peg shows a contribution from a M-type donor and its spectral type could be estimated as M3-5 by combining its orbital period. The signature of white dwarf spectrum can be seen clearly in four low-accretion-rate WZ Sge stars. Other special spectral features worthy of further observations are also noted and discussed. We present a LAMOST spectral atlas of outbursting dwarf novae. 6 objects have the first outburst spectra, and the others were also compared with the published outburst spectra. We argue that these data will be useful for further investigation of the accretion disc properties. The HeII $λ$4686 emission line can be found in the outburst spectra of seven dwarf novae. These objects are excellent candidates for probing the spiral asymmetries of accretion disc.

We present results derived from four stellar occultations by the plutino object (208996) 2003~AZ$_{84}$, detected at January 8, 2011 (single-chord event), February 3, 2012 (multi-chord), December 2, 2013 (single-chord) and November 15, 2014 (multi-chord). Our observations rule out an oblate spheroid solution for 2003~AZ$_{84}$'s shape. Instead, assuming hydrostatic equilibrium, we find that a Jacobi triaxial solution with semi axes $(470 \pm 20) \times (383 \pm 10) \times (245 \pm 8)$~km % axis ratios $b/a= 0.82 \pm 0.05$ and $c/a= 0.52 \pm 0.02$, can better account for all our occultation observations. Combining these dimensions with the rotation period of the body (6.75~h) and the amplitude of its rotation light curve, we derive a density $ρ=0.87 \pm 0.01$~g~cm$^{-3}$ a geometric albedo $p_V= 0.097 \pm 0.009$. A grazing chord observed during the 2014 occultation reveals a topographic feature along 2003~AZ$_{84}$'s limb, that can be interpreted as an abrupt chasm of width $\sim 23$~km and depth $> 8$~km or a smooth depression of width $\sim 80$~km and depth $\sim 13$~km (or an intermediate feature between those two extremes).

We present the analysis results of an eclipsing cataclysmic variable (CV) V729 Sgr, based on our observations and AAVSO data. Some outburst parameters were determined such as outburst amplitude ($A_{n}$) and recurrence time ($T_{n}$), and then the relationship between $A_{n}$ and $T_{n}$ is discussed. A cursory examination for the long-term light curves reveals that there are small-amplitude outbursts and dips present, which is similar to the behaviors seen in some nova-like CVs (NLs). More detailed inspection suggests that the outbursts in V729 Sgr may be Type A (outside-in) with a rise time $\sim1.76$ d. Further analysis also shows that V729 Sgr is an intermediate between dwarf nova and NLs, and we constrain its mass transfer rate to $1.59\times10^{-9} < \dot{M}_{2} < 5.8\times10^{-9}M_{\odot}yr^{-1}$ by combining the theory for Z Cam type stars with observations. Moreover, the rapid oscillations in V729 Sgr were detected and analyzed for the first time. Our results indicate that the oscillation at $\sim 25.5$ s is a true DNO, being associated with the accretion events. The classification of the oscillations at $\sim 136$ and $154$ s as lpDNOs is based on the relation between $P_{lpDNOs}$ and $P_{DNOs}$. Meanwhile, the QPOs at the period of hundreds of seconds are also detected.

It is discovered that V868 Mon is an A-subtype contact binary (f=$58.9\,\%$) with a large temperature difference of 916$K$ between the two components. Using the eight new times of light minimum determined by the authors together with those collected from literatures, the authors found that the general trend of the observed-calculate ($O$-$C$) curve shows a upward parabolic variation that corresponds to a long-term increase in the orbital period at a rate of $dP/dt=9.38\times{10^{-7}}day\cdot year^{-1}$. The continuous increase may be caused by a mass transfer from the less massive component to the more massive one.

It is found that this is a contact system with a mass ratio $q=0.9$ and a contact factor $f=4.1%$. The high mass ratio ($q=0.9$) and the low contact factor ($f=4.1%$) indicate that the system just evolved into the marginal contact stage.

TX Cnc is a member of the young open cluster NGC 2632. In the present paper, four CCD epochs of light minimum and a complete V light curve of TX Cnc are presented. A period investigation based on all available photoelectric or CCD data showed that it is found to be superimposed on a long-term increase ($dP/dt=+3.97\times{10^{-8}}$\,days/year), and a weak evidence suggests that it includes a small-amplitude period oscillation ($A_3=0.^{d}0028$; $T_3=26.6\,years$). The light curves in the V band obtained in 2004 were analyzed with the 2003 version of the W-D code. It was shown that TX Cnc is an overcontact binary system with a degree of contact factor $f=24.8%(\pm0.9%)$. The absolute parameters of the system were calculated: $M_1=1.319\pm0.007M_{\odot}$, $M_2=0.600\pm0.01M_{\odot}$; $R_1=1.28\pm0.19R_{\odot}$, $R_2=0.91\pm0.13R_{\odot}$. TX Cnc may be on the TRO-controlled stage of the evolutionary scheme proposed by Qian (2001a, b; 2003a), and may contains an invisible tertiary component ($m_3\approx0.097M_{\odot}$). If this is true, the tertiary component has played an important role in the formation and evolution of TX Cnc by removing angular momentum from the central system(Pribulla & Rucinski, 2006). In this way the contact binary configuration can be formed in the short life time of a young open cluster via AML.

This paper analyzes the first secured four color light curves of V396 Mon using the 2003 version of the WD code. It is confirmed that V396 Mon is a shallow W-type contact binary system with a mass ratio $q=2.554(\pm0.004)$ and a degree of contact factor $f=18.9%(\pm1.2%)$. A period investigation based on all available data shows that the period of the system includes a long-term decrease ($dP/dt=-8.57\times{10^{-8}}$ days/year) and an oscillation ($A_3=0.^{d}0160$; $T_3=42.4\,years$). They are caused by angular momentum loss (AML) and light-time effect, respectively. The suspect third body perhaps is a small M-type star (about 0.31 solar mass). Though some proofs show that this system has strong magnetic activity, through analyzing we found that the Applegate mechanism cannot explain the periodic changes. This binary is an especially important system according to Qian's statistics of contact binaries as its mass ratio lies near the proposed pivot point about which the physical structure of contact binaries supposedly oscillate.

Two CCD epochs of light minimum and a complete R light curve of SS Ari are presented. The light curve obtained in 2007 was analyzed with the 2003 version of the W-D code. It is shown that SS Ari is a shallow contact binary system with a mass ratio $q=3.25$ and a degree of contact factor f=9.4(\pm0.8%). A period investigation based on all available data shows that there may exist two distinct solutions about the assumed third body. One, assuming eccentric orbit of the third body and constant orbital period of the eclipsing pair results in a massive third body with $M_3=1.73M_{\odot}$ and P_3=87.0$yr. On the contrary, assuming continuous period changes of the eclipsing pair the orbital period of tertiary is 37.75yr and its mass is about $0.278M_{\odot}$. Both of the cases suggest the presence of an unseen third component in the system.
