Recently, a kind of finite-temperature pseudo-transition was observed in several quasi-one-dimensional models. In this work, we consider a genuine one-dimensional extended Hubbard model in the atomic limit, influenced by an external magnetic field and with the arbitrary number of particles controlled by the chemical potential. The one-dimensional extended Hubbard model in the atomic limit was initially studied in the seventies and has been investigated over the past decades, but it still surprises us today with its fascinating properties. We rigorously analyze its low-temperature behavior using the transfer matrix technique and provide accurate numerical results. Our analysis confirms that there is an anomalous behavior in the half-filled band, specifically occurring between the alternating pair ($AP$) and paramagnetic ($PM$) phases at zero temperature. Previous investigations did not deeply identify this anomalous behavior, maybe due to the numerical simplicity of the model, but from analytical point of view this is not so easy to manipulate algebraically because one needs to solve an algebraic cubic equation. In this study, we explore this behavior and clearly distinguish the pseudo-transition, which could easily be mistaken with a real phase transition. This anomalous behavior mimics features of both first- and second-order phase transitions. However, due to its nature, we cannot expect a finite-temperature phase transition in this model.

In this work we present a theoretical investigation into an antiferromagnetically coupled spin system, specifically ${\rm Cu}_{3}-X$ ($\mathrm{X=As,Sb}$), which exhibits an isosceles triangular configuration or slightly distorted equilateral triangular configuration, as previously identified in reference {[}Phys. Rev. Lett. \textbf{96}, 107202 (2006){]}. This system can be effectively represented by the Heisenberg model on a triangular structure, taking into account the exchange interaction, the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction, g-factors and external magnetic field, as delineated in the aforementioned reference. By using numerical approach we explore both zero-temperature and finite-temperature behaviors of a ${\rm Cu}_{3}$-like antiferromagnetically coupled spin system. At zero temperature, the system displays a 1/3 quasi-plateau magnetization, when the magnetic field is varied. Moreover, we place particular emphasis on magnetic properties including magnetization, magnetic susceptibility, entropy, and specific heat at finite temperatures. Furthermore, we investigate the magnetocaloric effect as a function of an externally imposed magnetic field, oriented both parallel and perpendicular to the plane of the triangular structure. Interestingly, these configurations demonstrate remarkably similar behavior for both orientations of the magnetic field. Our investigation also includes an analysis of the adiabatic curve, the Grüneisen parameter, and the variation in entropy when applied or removed the magnetic field. The magnetocaloric effect is found to be more prominent in low the temperature region, typically at $T\sim1$K, for both parallel and perpendicular magnetic fields at $\sim4.5$T and $\sim5$T, respectively.

The elementary geometry of the finite lattice is defined on nanomolecules consisting of an hourglass structure of two corner-sharing scalene triangles which are related by inversion symmetry. This microscopic magnetic model is quite suitable to describe the molecular nanomagnetic compound Cu5-NIPA. The ground-state phase diagram, as well as the corresponding total magnetization, are obtained as a function of the anisotropic exchange interactions and the external magnetic field. The thermodynamic behavior of the model at finite temperatures is also studied and the corresponding magnetocaloric effects are analyzed for various values of the Hamiltonian parameters.

We consider the extended Hubbard diamond chain with an arbitrary number of particles driven by chemical potential. The interaction between dimer diamond chain and nodal couplings is considered in the atomic limit (no hopping), while the dimer interaction includes the hopping term. We demonstrate that this model exhibits a pseudo-transition effect in the low-temperature regime. Here, we explore the pseudo-transition rigorously by analyzing several physical quantities. The internal energy and entropy depict sudden, although continuous, jumps which closely resembles discontinuous or first-order phase transition. At the same time, the correlation length and specific heat exhibit astonishing strong sharp peaks, quite similar to a second-order phase transition. We associate the ascending and descending part of the peak with power-law \textquotedbl pseudo-critical\textquotedbl exponents. We determine the pseudo-critical exponents in the temperature range where these peaks are developed, namely $ν=1$ for the correlation length and $α=3$ for the specific heat. We also study the behavior of the electron density and isothermal compressibility around the pseudo-critical temperature.

We study magnetoelastic properties of a spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg diamond chain, whose elementary unit cell consists of two decorating Heisenberg spins and one nodal Ising spin. It is assumed that each couple of the decorating atoms including the Heisenberg spins harmonically vibrates perpendicularly to the chain axis, while the nodal atoms involving the Ising spins are placed at rigid positions when ignoring their lattice vibrations. An effect of the magnetoelastic coupling on a ground state and finite-temperature properties is particularly investigated close to a triple coexistence point depending on a spring-stiffness constant ascribed to the Heisenberg interaction. The magnetoelastic nature of the Heisenberg dimers is reflected through a non-null plateau of the entropy emergent in a low-temperature region, whereas the specific heat displays an anomalous peak slightly below the temperature region corresponding to the entropy plateau. The magnetization also exhibits a plateau in the same temperature region at almost saturated value before it gradually tends to zero upon increasing of temperature. The magnetic susceptibility displays within the plateau region an inverse temperature dependence, which slightly drops above this plateau, whereas an inverse temperature dependence is repeatedly recovered at high enough temperatures.

Phase transitions, compensation phenomenon and magnetization of a ferro-ferrimagnetic ternary alloy AB$_ρ$C$_{1-ρ}$ composed of three different kinds of magnetic ions A, B and C with the spin magnitude 1/2, 1 and 3/2 are examined within the framework of a mixed-spin Ising model on a honeycomb lattice with a selective annealed site disorder on one of its two sublattices. It is supposed that the first sublattice of a bipartite honeycomb lattice is formed by the spin-1/2 magnetic ions, while the sites of the second sublattice are randomly occupied either by the spin-1 magnetic ions with a probability $ρ$ or the spin-3/2 magnetic ions with a probability $1-ρ$, both being subject to a uniaxial single-ion anisotropy. The model under investigation can be exactly mapped into an effective spin-1/2 Ising model on a triangular lattice through the generalized star-triangle transformation. For a specific concentration of the spin-1 (spin-3/2) magnetic ions, it is shown that the ferro-ferrimagnetic version of the studied model may display a compensation temperature at which the total magnetization vanishes below a critical temperature. The critical temperature strikingly may also become independent of the concentration of the randomly mixed spin-1 and spin-3/2 magnetic ions for a specific value of a uniaxial single-ion anisotropy. The spontaneous magnetic order may be notably restored at finite temperatures through the order-by-disorder mechanism above a disordered ground state, which results in an anomalous temperature dependence of the total magnetization with double reentrant phase transitions.

One-dimensional systems with short-range interactions cannot exhibit a long-range order at nonzero temperature. However, there are some particular one-dimensional models, such as the Ising-Heisenberg spin models with a variety of lattice geometries, which exhibit unexpected behavior similar to the discontinuous or continuous temperature-driven phase transition. Although these pseudo-transitions are not true temperature-driven transitions showing only abrupt changes or sharp peaks in thermodynamic quantities, they may be confused while interpreting experimental data. Here we consider the spin-$\frac{1}{2}$ Ising-XYZ diamond chain in the regime when the model exhibits temperature-driven pseudo-transitions. We provide a detailed investigation of several correlation functions between distant spins that illustrates the properties of quasi-phases separated by pseudo-transitions. Inevitably, all correlation functions show the evidence of pseudo-transition, which are supported by the analytical solutions and, besides we provide a rigorous analytical investigation around the pseudo-critical temperature. It is worth to mention that the correlation functions between distant spins have an extremely large correlation length at pseudo-critical temperature.

A classical-quantum chain composed of regularly alternating Ising and Heisenberg spins is rigorously solved by considering two distinct local anisotropy axes of the Ising spins. The ground-state phase diagram and magnetization curves are examined depending on a spatial orientation of the applied magnetic field. The phase diagram totally consists of four distinct phases and a few macroscopically degenerate points, where an outstanding coexistence of perfect order and complete disorder occurs within the so-called 'half-fire, half-ice' state. The zero-temperature magnetization curves generally exhibit a smooth dependence on a magnetic field owing to a canting angle between two coplanar anisotropy axes of the Ising spins, which enforces a misalignment of the magnetization vector from a direction of the applied magnetic field. It is evidenced that the investigated spin-chain model reproduces magnetic features of the heterobimetallic coordination compound Dy(NO)$_{3}$(DMSO)$_{2}$Cu(opba)(DMSO)$_{2}$ (DMSO=dimethylsulfoxide, opba=orthophenylenebisoxamato). The high-field magnetization data reported for the powder sample of this polymeric coordination compound generally display a substantial smoothing on account of a powder averaging.

This pseudo-transition resembles a first- and second-order phase transition simultaneously. One of those models is the spin-1/2 Ising-XYZ diamond chain, composed of Ising spin particles at the nodal sites and the Heisenberg spin particles at the interstitial sites. Where we assume Ising-type interaction between the nodal and interstitial sites, the Heisenberg-type interaction between interstitial sites, and with an external magnetic field applied along the z-axis. This model presents an exact analytical solution applying the transfer matrix technique, which shows 3 phases at zero temperature in the vicinity of pseudo-transition. The pseudo-transition separates quasi-phases, these quasi-phases still hold at a finite temperature most of the pattern configurations of a true phase at zero temperature. Here we study the quantum entanglement of pair spin particles in the quasi-phase regions, which can be measured through the concurrence. Then we observe an unexpected behavior in the concurrence, that is below pseudo-critical temperature the concurrence remains almost constant up to pseudo-critical temperature, but above the pseudo-critical temperature, the concurrence behaves as for the standard one-dimensional spin models. Further, we consider the entropy behavior of the system, below pseudo-critical temperature the entropy becomes almost null, while above pseudo-critical temperature the system exhibits standard behavior as for ordinary one-dimensional spin models.

The non-uniform g-factors within the quantum spin dimer as well as the XY-anisotropy of the exchange interaction lead to the non-conserving magnetization for the chain. We analyze the effects of non-conserving magnetization as well as the effects of the appearance of negative g-factors among the spins from the unit cell. A number of unusual frustrated states for ferromagnetic couplings and g-factors with non-uniform signs are found out. These frustrated states generalize the "half-fire-half-ice" state introduced in Ref. [8]. The corresponding zero-temperature ground state phase diagrams are presented.

We consider a spin-1/2 Ising-XYZ distorted diamond chain with the XYZ interaction between the interstitial Heisenberg dimers, the nearest-neighbor Ising coupling between the nodal and interstitial spins, respectively, and the second-neighbor Ising coupling between the nodal spins. The ground-state phase diagram of the spin-1/2 Ising-XYZ distorted diamond chain exhibits several intriguing phases due to the XY anisotropy and the second-neighbor interaction, whereas the model can be exactly solved using the transfer-matrix technique. The quantum entanglement within the Heisenberg spin dimers is studied through a bipartite measure concurrence, which is calculated from a relevant reduced density operator. The concurrence may either show a standard thermal dependence with a monotonous decline with increasing temperature or a more peculiar thermal dependence accompanied with reentrant behavior of the concurrence. It is conjectured that the bipartite entanglement between the interstitial Heisenberg spin pairs in the natural mineral azurite is quite insensitive to the applied magnetic field and it persists up to approximately 30 Kelvins.

The ground-state phase diagram is constituted by two classical ferrimagnetic phases, the quantum unsaturated paramagnetic phase and the saturated paramagnetic phase. Both classical ferrimagnetic phases as well as the unsaturated paramagnetic phase are reflected in a low-temperature magnetization curve as intermediate magnetization plateaus. The unsaturated paramagnetic phase is quantum in its character as evidenced by the fermionic concurrence calculated for a pair of the mobile electrons hopping in between the interstitial sites. It is shown that the magnetic field can under certain conditions induce a quantum entanglement above the disentangled ground state.

Zero temperature non-plateau magnetization is a peculiar property of a quantum spin chain and it sometimes appears due to different gyromagnetic factors. In this study, we illustrate a quite unusual nonplateau magnetization property driven by XY-anisotropy in an Ising-XYZ diamond chain. Two particles with spin-1/2 are bonded by XYZ coupling and they are responsible for the emergence of non-plateau magnetization. These two quantum operator spins are bonded to two nodal Ising spins and this process is repeated infinitely to yield a diamond chain structure. Due to the non-plateau magnetization property, we focus our discussion on the magnetocaloric effect of this model by presenting the isentropic curves and the Gruneisen parameters, as well as showing the regions where the model exhibits an efficient magnetocaloric effect. Due to the existence of two phases located very close to each other, the strong XY-anisotropy exhibits a particular behavior with a magnetocaloric effect, with a wider interval in the magnetic field, where the magnetocaloric effect is efficient.

We have investigated in detail all available ground states, the magnetization processes, the spin-spin correlation functions around an elementary plaquette, fermionic quantum concurrence and spin frustration. It is shown that the fermionic entanglement between mobile electrons hopping on interstitial sites and the kinetically-induced spin frustration are closely related yet independent phenomena. In the ground state, quantum entanglement only appears within a frustrated unsaturated paramagnetic phase, while thermal fluctuations can promote some degree of quantum entanglement above the non-frustrated ground states with saturated paramagnetic or classical ferrimagnetic spin arrangements.

Quantum entanglement is one of the most fascinating types of correlation that can be shared only among quantum systems. The Heisenberg chain is one of the simplest quantum chains which exhibits a reach entanglement feature, due to the Heisenberg interaction is quantum coupling in the spin system. The two particles were coupled trough XYZ coupling or simply called as two-qubit XYZ spin, which are the responsible for the emergence of thermal entanglement. These two-qubit operators are bonded to two nodal Ising spins, and this process is repeated infinitely resulting in a diamond chain structure. We will discuss two-qubit thermal entanglement effect on Ising-XYZ diamond chain structure. The concurrence could be obtained straightforwardly in terms of two-qubit density operator elements, using this result, we study the thermal entanglement, as well as the threshold temperature where entangled state vanishes. The present model displays a quite unusual concurrence behavior, such as, the boundary of two entangled regions becomes a disentangled region, this is intrinsically related to the XY-anisotropy in the Heisenberg coupling. Despite a similar property had been found for only two-qubit, here we show in the case of a diamond chain structure, which reasonably represents real materials.
