The relativistic degrees of freedom ($N_{\rm eff}$) is one of the crucial cosmological parameters. The precise measurement of $N_{\rm eff}$ at the time of cosmic microwave background formation, by Planck 2018 can be used to understand the new fundamental interactions, in particular involving light mediators. Presence of any new particle with sufficient energy density and sizeable interactions with Standard Model particles at the temperature around $\sim$ MeV can significantly alter the neutrino decoupling and hence $N_{\rm eff}$. Thus the bound on $N_{\rm eff}$ can place stringent constraints on various beyond Standard Model paradigms involving light particles. $U(1)_X$ models are among such scenarios and are widely studied in several aspects. In this work, we consider several popular $U(1)_X$ models with light $Z'$ boson like $U(1)_{B-L}$, $U(1)_{B - 3L_i}$, $U(1)_{B_i - 3 L_j}$, $U(1)_{L_i - L_j}$; $i,j =1,2,3$ being the flavour indices and study their impact on $N_{\rm eff}$. We also examine the constraints from ground based experiments like Xenon1T, Borexino, trident, etc. Our analysis shows that for light mass $M_{Z'} \lesssim \mathcal{O} (\rm{MeV})$ the $N_{\rm eff}$ provides the most stringent constraints on the $Z'$ mass and coupling, far exceeding the existing constraints from other experiments.

No conclusive signal, despite an extensive search program that combines, often in a complementary way, direct, indirect, and collider probes, has been however detected so far. This situation might change in the near future with the advent of even larger, multi-ton Direct Detection experiments. We provide here an updated review of the WIMP paradigm, with a focus on selected models that can be probed with upcoming facilities, all relying on the standard freeze-out paradigm for the relic density. We also discuss Collider and Indirect Searches when they provide complementary experimental information.

The current upper limit on $N_{\rm eff}$ at the time of CMB by Planck 2018 can place stringent constraints in the parameter space of BSM paradigms where their additional interactions may affect neutrino decoupling. Motivated by this fact in this paper we explore the consequences of light gauge boson ($Z'$) emerging from local $U(1)_X$ symmetry in $N_{\rm eff}$ at the time of CMB. First, we analyze the generic $U(1)_X$ models with arbitrary charge assignments for the SM fermions and show that, in the context of $N_{\rm eff}$ the generic $U(1)_X$ gauged models can be broadly classified into two categories, depending on the charge assignments of first generation leptons. We then perform a detailed analysis with two specific $U(1)_X$ models: $U(1)_{B_3-3L_e}$ and $U(1)_{B_3-3L_μ}$ and explore the contribution in $N_{\rm eff}$ due to the presence of $Z'$ realized in those models. For comparison, we also showcase the constraints from low energy experiments like: Borexino, Xenon 1T, neutrino trident, etc. We show that in a specific parameter space, particularly in the low mass region of $Z'$, the bound from $N_{\rm eff}$ (Planck 2018) is more stringent than the experimental constraints. Additionally, a part of the regions of the same parameter space may also relax the $H_0$ tension.

We investigate ways of identifying two kinds of dark matter (DM) component particles at high-energy colliders. The strategy is to notice and distinguish double-peaks(humps) in the missing energy/transverse energy distribution. The relative advantage of looking for {\em missing energy} is pointed out, in view of the fact that the longitudinal component of the momentum imbalance becomes an added input. It thus turns out that an electron-positron collider is better suited for discovering a two-component DM scenario. Furthermore, using Gaussian fits of the distribution histograms, we develop a set of criteria to evaluate the distinguishability of the two-peaks quantitatively.

The ComPair team has built an instrument that consists of 4 detector subsystems: a double-sided silicon strip detector Tracker, a novel high-resolution virtual Frisch-grid cadmium zinc telluride Calorimeter, and a high-energy hodoscopic cesium iodide Calorimeter, all of which are surrounded by a plastic scintillator anti-coincidence detector. These subsystems together detect and characterize photons via Compton scattering and pair production, enable a veto of cosmic rays, and are a proof-of-concept for a space telescope with the same architecture. A future medium-energy gamma-ray mission enabled through ComPair will address many questions posed in the Astro2020 Decadal survey in both the New Messengers and New Physics and the Cosmic Ecosystems themes. In this work we study the hybrid kind of dark matter(DM) production mechanism where both thermal and non-thermal contribution at two different epochs set the DM relic abundance. This hybrid set up in turn shifts the parameter space of DM in contrast to pure thermal DM scenario. We review such production mechanism in the context of the $SU(2)_L$ lepton doublet dark matter ($Ψ$) augmented with an additional singlet dark scalar ($S$). The neutral component of the dark doublet can serve as a stable DM candidate and in pure thermal scenario, it is under-abundant as well as excluded from direct detection constraints due to its strong gauge interactions in the sub-TeV mass regime. However, in addition to the thermal contribution, the late time non-thermal DM production from the decay of the long-lived dark scalar $S$ helps to fulfill the deficit in DM abundance. On the other hand, the strong gauge mediated direct detection constraint can be evaded with the help of a $SU(2)_L$ triplet scalar(with $Y=2$), resulting a pseudo-Dirac DM. To realize our proposed scenario we impose a discrete $\mathcal{Z}_2$ symmetry under which both $Ψ$ and $S$ are odd while rest of the fields are even. We find the lepton doublet pseudo-Dirac DM with mass $\sim 450-1200$ GeV, compatible with the observed relic density, direct, indirect, and existing collider search constraints.

Correlations and fluctuations between produced particles in an ultra-relativistic nuclear collision remain one of the successor to understand the basics of the particle production mechanism. More differential tools like Forward-Backward (FB) correlations between particles from two different phase-space further strengthened our cognizance. We have studied the strength of FB correlations in terms of charged particle multiplicity and summed transverse momentum for proton-proton ($pp$) and proton-lead ($pPb$) collisions at the centre-of-mass energies $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV and $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV respectively for the EPOS3 simulated events with hydrodynamical evolution of produced particles. Furthermore, the correlation strengths are separately obtained for the particles coming from the core and the corona. FB correlation strengths are examined as a function of psedorapidity gap ($η_{gap}$), psedorapidity window-width ($δη$), centre-of-mass energy ($\sqrt{s}$), minimum transverse momentum ($p_{Tmin}$) and different multiplicity classes following standard kinematical cuts used by the ALICE and the ATLAS experiments at the LHC for all three EPOS3 event samples. EPOS3 model shows a similar trend of FB multiplicity and momentum correlation strengths for both $pp$ \& $pPb$ systems, though the correlation strengths are found to be larger for $pPb$ system than $pp$ system. Moreover, $δη$-weighted average of FB correlation strengths as a function of different center-of-mass energies for $pp$ collisions delineates a tendency of saturation at very high energies.

We investigate the phenomenology of a non-thermal dark matter (DM) candidate in the context of flavor models that explain the hierarchy in the masses and mixings of quarks and leptons via the Froggatt-Nielsen (FN) mechanism. A flavor-dependent $U(1)_{\rm FN}$ symmetry explains the fermion mass and mixing hierarchy, and also provides a mechanism for suppressed interactions of the DM, assumed to be a Majorana fermion, with the Standard Model (SM) particles, resulting in its FIMP (feebly interacting massive particle) character. Such feeble interactions are mediated by a flavon field through higher dimensional operators governed by the $U(1)_{\rm FN}$ charges. We point out a natural stabilizing mechanism for the DM within this framework with the choice of half-integer $U(1)_{\rm FN}$ charge $n$ for the DM fermion, along with integer charges for the SM fermions and the flavon field. In this flavon portal scenario, the DM is non-thermally produced from the decay of the flavon in the early universe which becomes a relic through the freeze-in mechanism. We explore the allowed parameter space for this DM candidate from relic abundance by solving the relevant Boltzmann equations. We find that reproducing the correct relic density requires the DM mass to be in the range $(100-300)$ keV for $n=7.5$ and $(3-10)$ MeV for $n=8.5$ where $n$ is the $U(1)_{\rm FN}$ charge of the DM fermion.

The basic idea of this work is to achieve the observed relic density of a non-thermal dark matter(DM) and its connection with Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) via additional relativistic degrees of freedom which are simultaneously generated during the period $T_{\rm BBN}~{\rm to}~T_{\rm CMB}$ from a long-lived dark sector particle. To realize this phenomena we minimally extend the type-I seesaw scenario with a Dirac fermion singlet($χ$) and a complex scalar singlet ($\varphi$) which transform non-trivially under an unbroken symmetry $\mathcal{Z}_3$. $χ$ being the lightest particle in the dark sector acts as a stable dark matter candidate while the next to lightest state $\varphi$ operates like a long lived dark scalar particle. The initial density of $\varphi$ can be thermally produced through either self-interacting number changing processes ($3 \varphi \to 2 \varphi$) within dark sector or the standard annihilation to SM particles ($2 \varphi \to 2~ {\rm SM}$). The late time (after neutrino decoupling) non-thermal decay of $\varphi$ can produce dark matter in association with active neutrinos. The presence of extra relativistic neutrino degrees of freedom at the time of CMB can have a significant impact on $Δ\rm N_{eff}$. Thus the precise measurement of $Δ\rm N_{ eff}$ by current PLANCK 2018 collaboration and future experiments like SPT-3G and CMB-S4 can indirectly probe this non-thermal dark matter scenario which is otherwise completely secluded due to its tiny coupling with the standard model.

Such a framework can also produce Gravitational Waves, detectable at the upcoming space-based interferometers, e.g., U-DECIGO. We explore the dynamics of electroweak phase transition and the production of Gravitational Waves in an extended set-up of the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM) with a Standard Model singlet right-handed neutrino superfield. We examine the role of the new parameters compared to NMSSM on the phase transition dynamics and observe that the occurrence of a FOPT, an essential requirement for Electroweak Baryogenesis, typically favours a right-handed sneutrino state below 125 GeV. Our investigation shows how the analysis can offer complementary probes for physics beyond the Standard Model besides the collider searches.

We study the prospect of simultaneous explanation of tiny neutrino masses, dark matter (DM), and the observed baryon asymmetry of the Universe in a $Z_3$-symmetric complex singlet scalar extended type-II seesaw model. The complex singlet scalar plays the role of DM. Analyzing the thermal history of the model, we identify the region of the parameter space that can generate a first-order electroweak phase transition (FOEWPT) in the early Universe, and the resulting stochastic gravitational waves (GW) can be detected at future space/ground-based GW experiments. First, we find that light triplet scalars do favor an FOEWPT. In our study, we choose the type-II seesaw part of the parameter space in such a way that light triplet scalars, especially the doubly charged ones, evade the strong bounds from their canonical searches at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). However, the relevant part of the parameter space, where FOEWPT can happen only due to strong SM doublet-triplet interactions, is in tension with the SM-like Higgs decay to a pair of photons, which has already excluded the bulk of this parameter space. On the other hand, the latest spin-independent DM direct detection constraints from XENON-1T and PANDA-4T eliminate a significant amount of parameter space relevant for the dark sector assisted FOEWPT scenarios, and it is only possible when the complex scalar DM is significantly underabundant. In short, we conclude from our analysis that the absence of new physics at the HL-LHC and/or various DM experiments in the near future will severely limit the prospects of detecting a stochastic GW at future GW experiments and will exclude the possibility of electroweak baryogenesis within this model.

After emphasizing that an $e^+e^-$ collider is more suitable for this goal, we first identify the theoretical principles that govern the occurrence of two peaks in missing energy (ME) distribution, in a double-DM scenario. We then identify a variable that rather spectacularly elicits the double-peaking behaviour, namely, the plot of bin-wise statistical significance ($S/\sqrt{B}$) against ME. Using Gaussian fits of the histograms, we apply a set of criteria developed by us, to illustrate the above points numerically for suitable benchmarks.

In this work we demonstrate that a distorted double hump like missing energy ($\slashed{E}$) or missing transverse momentum ($\slashed{E}_T$) or missing mass ($\slashed{M}$) distribution at $e^+e^-$ colliders may hint towards the presence of multipartite dark sector. We illustrate the phenomena using a two component dark matter (DM) model involving an inert scalar doublet stabilised under a $\mathcal{Z}_2$ symmetry providing a scalar DM, one vector like fermion doublet and a right handed fermion singlet both stabilised under a different $\mathcal{Z}^{'}_2$ providing a fermion DM. We indicate the region of parameter space where the production of the heavy charged particles and their subsequent decay to DM yield double peak behaviour in $\slashed{E}$ spectrum after satisfying DM constraints. Importantly, we illustrate why and how $\slashed{E}$ serves as a better variable than $\slashed{E}_T$ in distinguishing two component DM frameworks and therefore how International Linear Collider (ILC) does better than the ongoing Large Hadron Collider (LHC). We also chalk out a set of criteria to identify and segregate the second peak in $\slashed{E}$ spectrum, after a careful analysis of the corresponding Standard Model (SM) background contribution, which plays a crucial role.

The DM communicates with the SM only through flavorful vector-portal $Z_\text{B3L}$ due to its non-trivial charge $x$ under $U(1)_{B-3L_{i}}$, which also guarantees the stability of the DM over the age of the Universe for $x\neq\{\pm 3/2,\pm 3\}$. Considering $Z_\text{B3L}$ to lie within the mass range of a few MeV up to a few GeV, we obtain constraints on the gauge coupling $g_\text{B3L}$ from the requirement of producing right relic abundance. Taking limits from various (present and future) experimental facilities, e.g., NuCal, NA64, FASER, SHiP into account, we show that the relic density allowed parameter space for the frozen in DM can be probed with $g_\text{B3L}\gtrsim 10^{-8}$ for both $m_χ<m_\text{ZB3L}/2$ and $m_χ\gtrsim m_\text{ZB3L}$, while $g_\text{B3L}\lesssim 10^{-8}$ remains mostly unconstrained. We examine the non-thermal production of dark matter in a scalar extended singlet doublet fermion model where the lightest admixture of the fermions constitutes a suitable dark matter candidate. The dark sector is non-minimal with the MeV scale singlet scalar, which is stable in the Universe lifetime and can mediate the self-interaction for the multi-GeV fermion dark matter mitigating the small scale structure anomalies of the Universe. If the dark sector is strongly coupled, it undergoes internal dark thermal equilibrium after freeze-in production, and we end up with suppressed relic abundance for the fermion dark matter in a radiation dominated Universe. In contrast, the presence of a modified cosmological phase in the early era drives the fermion dark matter to satisfy nearly the whole amount of observed relic. It also turns out that the assumption of an unconventional cosmological history can allow the GeV scale dark matter to be probed at LHC from displaced vertex signature with improved sensitivity.

Three SM singlet right chiral fermions $χ_{iR}$($i=e,μ,τ$) with $\rm B-L$ charges -4, -4, +5 are invoked to cancel the $\rm B-L$ gauge anomalies and the lightest one among these three fermions becomes a viable DM candidate as their stability is guaranteed by a remnant $\mathcal Z_2$ symmetry to which $U(1)_{\rm B-L}$ gauge symmetry gets spontaneously broken. Interestingly in this scenario, the neutrino mass and the co-annihilation of DM are interlinked through the breaking of $U(1)_{\rm B-L}$ symmetry. Apart from giving rise to the observed neutrino mass and dark matter abundance, the model also predicts exciting signals at the colliders. Especially we see a significant enhancement in the production cross-section of the TeV scale doubly charged scalar in presence of the $Z_{\rm BL}$ gauge boson. We discuss all the relevant constraints on model parameters from observed DM abundance and null detection of DM at direct and indirect search experiments as well as the constraints on the $\rm B-L$ gauge boson from recent colliders.

Earlier works with radiation dominated Universe have reported the presence of desert region for both inert $SU(2)_L$ doublet and triplet DM candidates where the DM is under abundant. We find that the existence of a faster expanding component before BBN can revive a substantial part of the desert parameter space consistent with relic density requirements and other direct and indirect search bounds. We also review the possible collider search prospects of the newly obtained parameter space and predict that such region might be probed at the future colliders with improved sensitivity via a disappearing/stable charged track.

In a bid to simultaneous explanation of dark matter (DM) and tiny but non-zero masses of left-handed neutrinos, we propose a minimal extension of the Standard Model (SM) by a vector-like fermion doublet and three right handed (RH) singlet neutrinos. The DM arises as a mixture of the neutral component of the fermion doublet and one of the RH neutrinos, both assumed to be odd under an additional $\mathcal{Z}_2$ symmetry. As a result, the DM emerges to be a dominantly Majorana particle and escapes from $Z$-mediated direct search constraints to mark a significant difference from singlet-doublet Dirac DM. The other two $\mathcal{Z}_2$ even heavy RH neutrinos give rise masses and mixing of light neutrinos via Type-I Seesaw mechanism. The particle content automatically allows us to extend the model by a gauged $U(1)_{B-L}$ symmetry, which is anomaly free and brings an additional portal between DM and SM particles. Relic density and direct search allowed parameter space for both the cases are investigated through detailed numerical scan, while collider search strategies are also indicated.

We have studied the variation of FB correlation strength with $η_{gap}$, $δη$, $\sqrt{s}$, $p_{\rm T}$ cuts and multiplicity classes. Results are compared with the corresponding ALICE and ATLAS data. EPOS3 model qualitatively reproduces the overall variation of correlation strength of the LHC data. However, quantitative agreement is better for $pp$ events, generated using EPOS3 with hydrodynamical evolution of particles, with ATLAS data.

We study the chemical freeze-out dynamics of strange particles ($K,\, Λ,\, Σ$) from a homogeneous and isotropically expanding hadronic system of $π, K, ρ, N, Λ$ and $Σ$ with zero net baryon density. We use the momentum integrated Boltzmann equation and study their evolution over the bulk hadronic matter, a condition being similar to the one created at top RHIC and LHC energies. The cross-sections, which are input to the equations, are taken either from phenomenological models or parameterized by comparing against experimental data. From this microscopic calculation we find that these strange particles freeze-out near transition temperature $\approx T_c$ due to large relaxation time. The continuous cease of the inelastic processes due to gradual fall in the temperature and decrease in the number density, thus lead to early freeze out of strange hadrons $K, Λ$ and $Σ$ which happens sequentially near $T_c$. However, freeze-out of these strange species near Tc appears as a sudden and simultaneous process, which is mostly predicted by thermal model while explaining the yield of identified particles at RHIC and LHC energies.

The yields obtained from rate equations are normalized with thermal pions and compared with the measurements from Pb-Pb collisions at various multiplicities at LHC energy. The calculation has been done for various initial and freeze out conditions. At 2760 GeV, LHC energy, $Λ, Ξ, Ω$ freeze out close to $T_C$ and $K^0_s$ freezes out little later. But there is a subtle difference in freeze out temperatures of different species which may be distinguishable at lower colliding energies.

We propose an Abelian gauged version of the singlet-doublet fermionic dark matter (DM) model where DM, combination of a vector like fermion doublet and a fermion singlet, is naturally stabilised by the gauge symmetry without requiring any ad-hoc discrete symmetries. In order to have good detection prospects at collider experiments like the large hadron collider (LHC) and enlarged parameter space for low mass DM, we consider the additional gauge symmetry to be based on the quantum $B-3L_τ$ where the restriction to third generation of leptons is chosen to have weaker bounds from the LHC on the corresponding gauge boson. The triangle anomalies arising in this model can be cancelled by including a right handed neutrino which takes part in generating light neutrino masses through type I seesaw mechanism. Apart from DM, collider prospects and light neutrino masses, the model also offers high scale validity giving rise to a stable electroweak vacuum and perturbative couplings all the way up to the Planck scale. We constrain our model parameters from these requirements as well as existing relevant constraints related to DM and colliders.

The idea of this work is to investigate the constraints on the dark matter (DM) allowed parameter space from high scale validity (absolute stability of Higgs vacuum and perturbativity) in presence of multi particle dark sector and heavy right handed neutrinos to address correct neutrino mass. We illustrate a simple two component DM model, consisting of one inert $SU(2)_L$ scalar doublet and a scalar singlet, both stabilised by additional
$\mathcal{Z}_2 \times \mathcal{Z}^{'}_2$ symmetry, which also aid to vacuum stability. We demonstrate DM-DM interaction helps achieving a large allowed parameter space for both the DM components by evading direct search bound.
High scale validity puts further constraints on the model, for example, on the mass splitting between the charged and neutral component of inert doublet, which has important implication to its leptonic signature(s) at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

Multiple Reflection Expansion (MRE) formalism has been applied to hadron resonance gas (HRG) model to study the finite-size effect on thermodynamics of small systems of hadron gas at the chemical freeze-out temperature in high-multiplicity events of proton-proton (pp) colisions at the LHC. Comparison with larger systems of heavy-ion (AA) collisions helps in undersanding the usefulness of the effect on small systems. Thermodynamic properties of these systems at the chemical freeze-out, with and without system-size effect, are contrasted with those for infinite hadronic phase of strongly interacting matter at ideal thermodynamic limit, as provided by LQCD calculations. On introduction of finite size effect, the small hadronic systems produced in high-multiplicity pp events, unlike those in AA collisions, remain away from ideal thermodynamic limit. Knudsen number estimations validate the findings.

In this analysis, we ideate a simple scalar DM framework stabilised by $Z_3$ symmetry to serve with a SIMP-like DM ($χ$) with additional light scalar mediation ($φ$) to enhance DM self interaction. We identify that a large parameter space for such DM is available from correct relic density and self interaction constraints coming from Bullet or Abell cluster data. We derive an approximate analytic solution for freeze-out of the SIMP like DM in Boltzmann Equation describing $3 \to 2$ number changing process within the dark sector. We also provide a comparative analysis of the SIMP like solution with the Weakly Interacting Massive Particle (WIMP) realisation of the same model framework here.

Fermion dark matter (DM) as an admixture of additional singlet and doublet vector like fermions provides an attractive and allowed framework by relic density and direct search constraints within TeV scale, although limited by its discovery potential at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). An extension of the model with scalar triplet can yield neutrino masses and provide some cushion to the direct search constraint of the DM through pseudo-Dirac mass splitting. This in turn, allow the model to live in a larger region of the parameter space and open the door for detection at LHC, even if slightly. The model however can see an early discovery at International Linear Collider (ILC) without too much of fine-tuning. The complementarity of LHC, ILC and direct search prospect of this framework is studied in this paper.

We review a class of models in which the Standard Model (SM) is augmented by vector-like leptons: one doublet and a singlet, which are odd under an unbroken discrete $Z_2$ symmetry. As a result, the neutral component of these additional vector-like leptons are stable and behave as dark matter. We study the phenomenological constraints on the model parameters and elucidate the parameter space for relic density, direct detection and collider signatures of dark matter. In such models, we further add a scalar triplet of hypercharge two and study the consequences. In particular, after electro weak symmetry breaking (EWSB), the triplet scalar gets an induced vacuum expectation value (vev), which yield Majorana masses not only to the light neutrinos but also to vector-like leptonic doublet DM. Due to the Majorana mass of DM, the $Z$ mediated elastic scattering with nucleon is forbidden and hence allowing the model to survive from stringent direct search bound. The DM without scalar triplet lives in a small singlet-doublet leptonic mixing region ($\sinθ\le 0.1$) due to large contribution from singlet component and have small mass difference ($Δm \sim 10$ GeV) with charged companion, the NLSP (next to lightest stable particle), to aid co-annihilation for yielding correct relic density. Both these observations change to certain extent in presence of scalar triplet to aid observability of hadronically quiet leptonic final states at LHC, while one may also confirm/rule-out the model through displaced vertex signal of NLSP, a characteristic signature of the model in relic density and direct search allowed parameter space.

Basic idea of this analysis is to achieve a two-component dark matter (DM) framework composed of a scalar and a fermion, with non-negligible DM-DM interaction contributing to thermal freeze out (hence relic density), but hiding them from direct detection bounds. We therefore augment the Standard Model (SM) with a scalar singlet ($S$) and three vectorlike fermions: two singlets ($χ_1,χ_2$) and a doublet ($N$). Stability of the two DM components is achieved by a discrete $\mathcal{Z}_2 \times {\mathcal{Z}^\prime}_2$ symmetry, under which the additional fields transform suitably. Fermion fields having same $\mathcal{Z}_2 \times {\mathcal{Z}^\prime}_2$ charge ($N,χ_1$ in the model) mix after electroweak symmetry breaking (EWSB) and the lightest component becomes one of the DM candidates, while scalar singlet $S$ is the other DM component connected to visible sector by Higgs portal coupling. The heavy fermion ($χ_2$) plays the role of mediator to connect the two DM candidates through Yukawa interaction. This opens up a large parameter space for the heavier DM component through DM-DM conversion. Hadronically quiet dilepton signature, arising from the fermion dark sector, can be observed at Large Hadron Collider (LHC) aided by the presence of a lighter scalar DM component, satisfying relic density and direct search bounds through DM-DM conversion.

The temperature and chemical potential dependent study of $s /T^3$ and $η/s$ for hadron gas, by signalling onsets of first order phase transition and crossover in the hadronic phase of QCD matter, helps in understanding the QCD phase diagram in the ($T, μ_{B}$) - plane. In this thesis we try to discuss certain phenomenological aspects of an R-parity violating non-minimal supersymmetric model, called $μν$SSM. We show that $μν$SSM can provide a solution to the $μ$-problem of supersymmetry and can simultaneously accommodate the existing three flavour global data from neutrino experiments even at the tree level with the simple choice of flavour diagonal neutrino Yukawa couplings. We show that it is also possible to achieve different mass hierarchies for light neutrinos at the tree level itself. In $μν$SSM, the effect of R-parity violation together with a seesaw mechanism with TeV scale right-handed neutrinos are instrumental for light neutrino mass generation. We also analyze the stability of tree level neutrino masses and mixing with the inclusion of one-loop radiative corrections. In addition, we investigate the sensitivity of the one-loop corrections to different light neutrino mass orderings. Decays of the lightest supersymmetric particle were also computed and ratio of certain decay branching ratios was observed to correlate with certain neutrino mixing angle. We extend our analysis for different natures of the lightest supersymmetric particle as well as with various light neutrino mass hierarchies. We present estimation for the length of associated displaced vertices for various natures of the lightest supersymmetric particle which can act as a discriminating feature at a collider experiment. We also present an unconventional signal of Higgs boson in supersymmetry which can lead to a discovery, even at the initial stage of the large hadron collider running. Besides, we show that a signal of this kind can also act as a probe to the seesaw scale. Certain other phenomenological issues have also been addressed.

From the prompt decay of a pair of left sneutrinos LSPs of any family, a significant diphoton signal plus missing transverse energy (MET) from neutrinos can be present in the mass range 118-132 GeV, with 13 TeV center-of-mass energy and an integrated luminosity of 100 fb$^{-1}$. In addition, in the case of a pair of tau left sneutrinos LSPs, given the large value of the tau Yukawa coupling diphoton plus leptons and/or multileptons can appear. We find that the number of expected events for the multilepton signal, together with properly adopted search strategies, is sufficient to give a significant evidence for a sneutrino of mass in the range 130-310 GeV, even with the integrated luminosity of 20 fb$^{-1}$. In the case of the signal producing diphoton plus leptons, an integrated luminosity of 100 fb$^{-1}$ is needed to give a significant evidence in the mass range 95-145 GeV. Finally, we discuss briefly the presence of displaced vertices and the associated range of masses.

We investigate the electroweak vacuum stability in an extended version of the Standard Model which incorporates two additional singlet scalar fields and three right handed neutrinos. One of these extra scalars plays the role of dark matter while the other scalar not only helps in making the electroweak vacuum stable but also opens up the low mass window of the scalar singlet dark matter (< 500 GeV). We consider the effect of large neutrino Yukawa coupling on the running of Higgs quartic coupling. We have analyzed the constraints on the model and identify the range of parameter space which is consistent with neutrino mass, appropriate relic density and direct search limits from the latest XENON 1T preliminary result as well as in realizing the stability of the electroweak vacuum upto the Planck scale.

Minimal scalar Higgs portal dark matter model is increasingly in tension with recent results form direct detection experiments like LUX and XENON. In this paper we make a systematic study of minimal extension of the $ \mathbb{Z}_2$ stabilised singlet scalar Higgs portal scenario in terms of their prospects at direct detection experiments. We consider both enlarging the stabilising symmetry to $\mathbb{Z}_3$ and incorporating multipartite features in the dark sector. We demonstrate that in these non-minimal models the interplay of annihilation, co-annihilation and semi-annihilation processes considerably relax constraints from present and proposed direct detection experiments while simultaneously saturating observed dark matter relic density. We explore in particular the resonant semi-annihilation channel within the multipartite $\mathbb{Z}_3$ framework which results in new unexplored regions of parameter space that would be difficult to constrain by direct detection experiments in the near future. The role of dark matter exchange processes within multi-component $\mathbb{Z}_3 \times \mathbb{Z}_3'$ framework is illustrated. We make quantitative estimates to elucidate the role of the various annihilation processes in the different allowed regions of parameter space of these models.

We study the phenomenological credibility of a vectorial dark matter, coupled to a $Z'$ portal through Chern-Simons interaction. We scrutinize two possibilities of connecting a $Z'$ with the Standard Model: (1) through kinetic mixing and (2) from a second Chern-Simons interaction. Both scenarios are characterized by suppressed nuclear recoil scatterings, rendering direct detection searches not promising. Indirect detection experiments, on the other hand, furnish complementary limits for TeV scale masses, specially with the CTA. Searches for mono-jet and dileptons signals at the LHC are important to partially probe the kinetic mixing setup. Finally we propose an UV completion of the Chern-Simons Dark Matter framework.

The ATLAS and CMS collaborations have recently released their new analyses of the diphoton searches. We look in detail the consequences of their results deriving strong constraints on models where a scalar resonance $s$ decays into two light pseudoscalars which in turn decay into two pairs of collimated photons, mis-identified with two real photons. In our construction, all mass terms are generated dynamically, and only one pair of vector-like fermions generate couplings which will be probed using the upcoming LHC data. Moreover, we show that a stable dark matter candidate, respecting the cosmological constraints, is naturally affordable in the model.

We investigate a simple setup in which an excess in the di-photon invariant mass distribution around $750$ GeV, as seen by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations, is originated through a pair of collimated photon pairs. In this framework a scalar state $s$ decays into two light pseudo-Goldstone bosons $a$, each of which subsequently decays into a pair of collimated photons which are misidentified as a single photon. In a minimal context of spontaneous symmetry breaking, we show that coupling a complex scalar field $Φ=(s+ia)/\sqrt{2}$ to a fermionic dark matter candidate $χ$, also responsible for generating its mass, allows for the correct relic density in a large region of the parameter space, while not being excluded by the direct or indirect detection experiments. Moreover, the correct relic abundance can naturally co-exist with a relatively large width for the resonant field $s$.

In this article we try to investigate this excess in the context of a minimal simplified framework assuming effective interactions of the hinted resonance with photons and gluons. We scrutinise the consistency of this observation with possible accompanying yet hitherto unseen signatures of this resonance. Subsequently, we try to probe the nature of new particles, e.g., spin, electric charge and number of colour, etc., that could remain instrumental to explain this excess through loop-mediation.

In this work, we investigate the phenomenological consequences of a doubly charged scalar which may belong to different uncoloured scalar multiplets. This doubly charged scalar couples to the charged leptons as well as gauge bosons, which we parametrize in a model independent way. Restricting ourselves in the regime of conserved charged-parity (CP), we assume only a few non-zero Yukawa couplings ($y_{μ\ell}$, where $\ell=e,μ,τ$) between the doubly charged scalar and the charged leptons. Our choices allow the doubly charged scalar to impinge low-energy processes like anomalous magnetic moment of muon and a few possible charged lepton flavour violating (CLFV) processes. These same Yukawa couplings are also instrumental in producing same-sign dilepton signatures at the LHC. In this article we examine the impact of individual contributions from the diagonal and off-diagonal Yukawa couplings in the light of muon $(g-2)$ excess. Subsequently, we use the derived information to inquire the possible CLFV processes and finally the collider signals from the decay of a doubly charged scalar. Our simplified analyses, depending on the mass of doubly charged scalar, provide a good estimate for the magnitude of the concerned Yukawa couplings. Our findings would appear resourceful to test the phenomenological significance of a doubly charged scalar by using complementary information from muon $(g-2)$, CLFV and the collider experiments.

Our study in terms of the ratio of shear viscosity and entropy density ($η/s$) and the (LQCD) predicted signature of QCD change of phase, in terms of effective number of degrees of freedom ($ε/T^4$), reiterates the possibility of strongly interacting collective medium in these events.
