Evidence of $η_{c}(2S)\toωω$ is found with a statistical significance of $3.2σ$. The branching fraction is measured to be $\mathcal{B}(η_{c}(2S)\toωω)=(5.65\pm3.77(\rm stat.)\pm5.32(\rm syst.))\times10^{-4}$. No statistically significant signal is observed for the decay $η_{c}(2S)\toωφ$. The upper limit of the branching fraction at the 90\% confidence level is determined to be $\mathcal{B}(ψ(2S)\toγη_{c}(2S),η_{c}(2S)\toωφ)<2.24\times 10^{-7}$. We also update the branching fractions of $χ_{cJ}\to ωω$ and $χ_{cJ}\toωφ$ decays via the $ψ(2S)\toγχ_{cJ}$ transition. The branching fractions are determined to be $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c0}\toωω)=(10.63\pm0.11\pm0.46)\times 10^{-4}$, $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c1}\toωω)=(6.39\pm0.07\pm0.29)\times 10^{-4}$, $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c2}\toωω)=(8.50\pm0.08\pm0.38)\times 10^{-4}$, $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c0}\toωφ)=(1.18\pm0.03\pm0.05)\times 10^{-4}$, $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c1}\toωφ)=(2.03\pm0.15\pm0.12)\times 10^{-5}$, and $\mathcal{B}(χ_{c2}\toωφ)=(9.37\pm1.07\pm0.59)\times 10^{-6}$, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic.

In the context of the left-right symmetric model, we study the interplay of neutrinoless double beta ($0νββ$) decay, parity-violating Møller scattering, and high-energy colliders, resulting from the Yukawa interaction of the right-handed doubly-charged scalar to electrons, which could evade the severe constraints from charged lepton flavor violation. The $0νββ$ decay amplitude receives additional contributions from right-handed sterile neutrinos. The half-life, calculated in the effective field theory (EFT) framework, allows for an improved description of the contributions involving non-zero mixing between left- and right-handed $W$ bosons and those arising from exchanging a light right-handed neutrino. We find that the relative sensitivities between the low-energy (or high-precision) and high-energy experiments are affected by the left-right mixing. On the other hand, our results show how the interplay of collider and low-energy searches provides a manner to explore regions that are inaccessible to $0νββ$ decay experiments.

We present extensive photometric and spectroscopic observations of the nearby Type Ia supernova (SN) 2023wrk at a distance of about 40 Mpc. The earliest detection of this SN can be traced back to a few hours after the explosion. Within the first few days the light curve shows a bump feature, while the B - V color is blue and remains nearly constant. The overall spectral evolution is similar to that of an SN 1991T/SN 1999aa-like SN Ia, while the C II $\lambda6580$ absorption line appears to be unusually strong in the first spectrum taken at $t \approx -$15.4 days after the maximum light. This carbon feature disappears quickly in subsequent evolution but it reappears at around the time of peak brightness. The complex evolution of the carbon line and the possible detection of Ni III absorption around 4700 Å and 5300 Å in the earliest spectra indicate macroscopic mixing of fuel and ash. The strong carbon lines is likely related to collision of SN ejecta with unbound carbon, consistent with the predictions of pulsational delayed-detonation or carbon-rich circumstellar-matter interaction models. Among those carbon-rich SNe Ia with strong C II $\lambda6580$ absorption at very early times, the line-strength ratio of C II to Si II and the B-V color evolution are found to exhibit large diversity, which may be attributed to different properties of unbound carbon and outward-mixing $^{56}$Ni.

We study the ultraviolet completion of semileptonic four-fermion operator $O_{ledq}^{αβ11}$ that incorporates Majorana dark matter (DM) in both lepton-flavor-conserving (LFC) and lepton-flavor-violating (LFV) scenarios at the one-loop level via box diagram, which effectively alleviates the lower bounds on the new physics scale. The interplay between the model-independent constraints on the Wilson coefficients and DM direct detection, relic density, and collider searches in the context of fermion portal DM model with two mediators is investigated. We find that both the projected future constraint on the LFC Wilson coefficient $C_{ledq}^{2211}/Λ^2< (12.3~\text{TeV})^{-2}$ from the measurements of neutrino non-standard interaction in the next-generation neutrino oscillation experiments, and LFV constraint $C_{ledq}^{1211}/Λ^2< \left(2.2\times 10^3 ~\text{TeV} \right)^{-2}$ from ongoing charged-lepton-flavor-violation searches, provide a complementary exploration of the parameter space encompassing the DM mass and scalar mass. With the colored mediator mass typically around $2~\text{TeV}$, the sensitivity of the indirect constraints on the four-fermion operator could surpass those of collider searches and DM direct detection, in scenarios where the masses of the DM and scalar are close. By ensuring the correct DM relic density, however, we obtain that the collider searches and DM direct detection are more sensitive to the electroweak scale DM and scalar compared to the indirect constraints.

In present work, we assume the $X_2$ as a pure molecule of the $D^*\bar{D}^*$ under three cases, i.e., pure neutral components ($θ= 0$), isospin singlet ($θ= π/4$) and neutral components dominant ($θ= π/6$), where $θ$ is a phase angle describing the proportion of neutral and charged constituents. Using an effective Lagrangian approach, we calculated the partial widths of $X_2\to VV$ and $X_2 \to PP$ ($V$ and $P$ stand for light vector and pseudoscalar mesons, respectively). The predicted decay widths of $X_2 \to VV$ can reach a few hundreds of $\mathrm{keV}$, while the decay widths of $X_2 \to PP$ are about several tens of $\mathrm{keV}$. In addition, the effects from the proportion of neutral and charged constituent on the decay widths of $X_2\to VV$ and $PP$ are also investigated. We hope that the present calculations will be checked experimentally in the future.

Using the experimental values of semileptonic decay widths of the $D^0$ and the $D^+$, the value of $α_{s}(m_c^{2})$ is determined to be $0.445\pm0.009\pm0.114$, where the first uncertainty is experimental and the second systematic. This reported $α_{s}(m_c^{2})$ is in good agreement with the value of $α_{s}(m_c^{2})$ calculated by running $α_S(m_Z^2)$ at the $Z^0$ boson mass $m_Z$ with the renormalization group evolution equation. In addition, values of $α_{s}(m_c^{2})$ obtained individually from each of the $D^0$, $D^+$, and $D_s^+$ mesons are found to be consistent being of the same origin.

The Pöchl-Teller effective potential mimics an asymptotically de Sitter black hole bounded by an event horizon and a cosmological one. Owing to the benefit of being analytically soluble, the asymptotic quasinormal modes in the modified Pöschl-Teller potential have been extensively explored in the literature by various authors, and the results bear distinct features. Specifically, for small discontinuities placed at the potential's peak, Skakala and Visser showed that the resulting modes lie primarily along the imaginary frequency axis, in line with the numerical results encountered for most black hole metrics. However, it was also suggested that under ultraviolet perturbations, asymptotic modes are expected to lie parallel to the real axis, closely intervening with recent developments on spectral instability. In this work, by numerical and semi-analytical approaches, we aim to resolve the above apparent ambiguity. The numerical scheme is based on an improved version of the matrix method, which is implemented in compactified hyperboloidal coordinates on the Chebyshev grid. It is demonstrated that both asymptotic behaviors indeed agree with the numerical findings, which is somewhat to one's surprise. Specifically, we report the emergence of a novel branch of purely imaginary modes originating from a bifurcation in the asymptotic quasinormal mode spectrum. Moreover, we demonstrate how the bifurcation and asymptotic modes evolve as the discontinuity moves away from the potential's peak, furnishing a dynamic picture as the spectral instability unfolds. It is further argued that they can be partly attributed to the observed parity-dependent deviations occurring for the low-lying perturbed modes of the original Pöschl-Teller effective potential.

We investigated the pionic transitions between the $X_2$ [spin-2 partner of the $X(3872)$] and $χ_{c1,2}$ using a nonrelativistic effective field theory. The $X_2$ is assumed to be a bound state of the $D^{*}$ and $\bar{D}^*$ mesons and to decay through several kinds of loops, including the bubble, triangle and box loops. Within the present model, the widths for the single-pion decays $X_2\toπ^0χ_{cJ}$ are predicted to be about $3$--$30$ keV. For the dipion decays, the widths are a few keVs. These widths yield a branching fraction of $10^{-3}$--$10^{-2}$. The ratio $R_{\mathrm{c}0}=Γ(X_2\toπ^+π^-χ_{cJ})/Γ(X_2\toπ^0π^0χ_{cJ}) \simeq 1.6$, which is a bit smaller than the expected value of $2$, and $R_{21}=Γ(X_2\toππχ_{c2})/Γ(X_2\toππχ_{c1}) \simeq 0.85$. These ratios are nearly independent of the $X_2$ mass and the coupling constants, which might be a good quantity for the experiments. Moreover, the invariant mass spectra of the $π^0χ_{cJ}$ final state for the dipion processes are presented, showing a cusp structure at the $D {\bar D}^*$ threshold enhanced and narrowed by the nearby triangle singularity.

The paper calculates the helicity-dependent dihadron fragmentation function (DiFF), by extending the dihadron spectator model and examine the single longitudinal spin asymmetry $A^{\sin(2φ_h)}_{UL}$ from dihadron in semi-inclusive inelastic scattering (SIDIS). This function elucidates the relationship between the longitudinal polarization of the fragmented quark and the transverse momentum of the resulting hadron pairs. A study by the COMPASS collaboration detected a minimal signal in their experimental search for this azimuthal asymmetry in SIDIS. Here, we use the spectator model to calculate the unknown T-odd dihadron fragmentation function $H_1^\perp$. Adopting collinear factorization to describe the data, avoiding the transverse momentum dependent factorization and the associated resummation effects, helping us understand the asymmetry and explaining why the signal is so weak. We involve the approach of transverse momentum dependence in the model calculations, in order to formulate the differential cross sections and the spin asymmetries in terms of the collinear parton distributions and the collinear DiFFs. A transverse momentum factor analysis method was used, in which the transverse momentum of the final hadron pairs was not integrated. The asymmetry of $sin(2φ_h)$ in COMPASS kinematics was calculated and compared with experimental data. In addition, predictions for the same asymmetry are also presented for HERMES and the Electron Ion Collider.

Electron-neutrino charged-current interactions with xenon nuclei were modeled in the nEXO neutrinoless double-beta decay detector (~5-tonne, 90% ${}^{136}$Xe, 10% ${}^{134}$Xe) to evaluate its sensitivity to supernova neutrinos. Predictions for event rates and detectable signatures were modeled using the MARLEY event generator. We find good agreement between MARLEY's predictions and existing theoretical calculations of the inclusive cross sections at supernova neutrino energies. The interactions modeled by MARLEY were simulated within the nEXO simulation framework and were run through an example reconstruction algorithm to determine the detector's efficiency for reconstructing these events. The simulated data, incorporating the detector response, were used to study the ability of nEXO to reconstruct the incident electron-neutrino spectrum and these results were extended to a larger xenon detector of the same isotope enrichment. We estimate that nEXO will be able to observe electron-neutrino interactions with xenon from supernovae as far as 5 to 8 kpc from earth, while the ability to reconstruct incident electron-neutrino spectrum parameters from observed interactions in nEXO is limited to closer supernovae.

The invisible decay includes two decay modes: $ n \rightarrow { inv} $ and $ nn \rightarrow { inv} $. The invisible decays of $s$-shell neutrons in $^{12}{\rm C}$ will leave a highly excited residual nucleus. Subsequently, some de-excitation modes of the excited residual nuclei can produce a time- and space-correlated triple coincidence signal in the JUNO detector. Based on a full Monte Carlo simulation informed with the latest available data, we estimate all backgrounds, including inverse beta decay events of the reactor antineutrino $\barν_e$, natural radioactivity, cosmogenic isotopes and neutral current interactions of atmospheric neutrinos. Pulse shape discrimination and multivariate analysis techniques are employed to further suppress backgrounds. With two years of exposure, JUNO is expected to give an order of magnitude improvement compared to the current best limits. After 10 years of data taking, the JUNO expected sensitivities at a 90% confidence level are $τ/B( n \rightarrow { inv} ) > 5.0 \times 10^{31} \, {\rm yr}$ and $τ/B( nn \rightarrow { inv} ) > 1.4 \times 10^{32} \, {\rm yr}$.

Space-based gravitational wave detection is extremely sensitive to disturbances. The Keplerian configuration cannot accurately reflect the variations in spacecraft configuration. Planetary gravitational disturbances are one of the main sources. Numerical simulation is an effective method to investigate the impact of perturbation on spacecraft orbits. This study shows that, in the context of the Taiji project, Earth's gravity is an essential factor in the change in heliocentric formation configuration, contributing to the relative acceleration between spacecrafts in the order of $\mathcal O(10^{-6})\,{\rm m\cdot s^{-2}}$. Considering 00:00:00 on 27 October 2032 as the initial orbiting moment, under the influence of Earth's gravitational perturbation, the maximum relative change in armlengths and variation rates of armlengths for Taiji is $1.6\times 10^{5}\,{\rm km}$, $32\,{\rm m\cdot s^{-1}}$, respectively, compared with the unperturbed Keplerian orbit. Additionally, by considering the gravitational perturbations of Venus and Jupiter, the armlength and relative velocity for Taiji are reduced by $16.01\%$ and $17.45\%$, respectively, compared with when only considering that of Earth. The maximum amplitude of the formation motion indicator changes with the orbit entry time. Results show that the relative velocity increase between the spacecrafts is minimal when the initial orbital moment occurs in July. Moreover, the numerical simulation results are inconsistent when using different ephemerides. The differences between ephemerides DE440 and DE430 are smaller than those between DE440 and DE421.

With a clean environment and high collision energy, the Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) would be an excellent facility for heavy flavor physics. Using the Monte Carlo event generator Pythia, we simulate the production of the charmed (bottom) hadron pairs in the electron-positron collisions at the $Z$ factory of CEPC, and the inclusive production rates for typical candidates of the hidden/double-charm and hidden/double-bottom $S$-wave hadronic molecules are estimated at an order-of-magnitude level with the final state interactions after the hadron pair production. The predicted cross sections for the hidden-charm meson-meson molecules $X(3872)$ and $Z_c(3900)$ are at $\rm{pb}$ level, which are about two to three orders of magnitude larger than the production cross sections for the double-charm meson-meson molecules $T_{cc}$ and $T_{cc}^{*}$, as the double-charmed ones require the production of two pairs of $c\bar{c}$ from the $Z$ boson decay. The production cross sections for the hidden-charm pentaquark states $P_{c}$ and $P_{cs}$ as meson-baryon molecules are a few to tens of fb, which are about one magnitude larger than those of the possible hidden-charm baryon-antibaryon and double-charm meson-baryon molecules. In the bottom sector, the production cross sections for the $Z_b$ states as $B^{(*)}\bar{B}^{*}$ molecules are about tens to hundreds of fb, indicating $10^6$ - $10^7$ events from a two-year operation of CEPC, and the expected events from the double-bottom molecules are about 2 - 5 orders of magnitude smaller than the $Z_b$ states. Our results shows great prospects of probing heavy exotic hadrons at CEPC.

We revisit the contribution to the strong CP parameter $\bar θ$ from leptonic CP violation at one-loop level in the minimal left-right symmetric model in the case of generalized parity as the left-right symmetry. The Hermitian neutrino Dirac mass matrix $M_D$ can be calculated using the light and heavy neutrino masses and mixings. We propose a parametrization of the right-handed neutrino mixing matrix $V_R$ and construct the heavy neutrino mass that maintains the Hermiticity of $M_D$. We further apply it to evaluate the one-loop $\barθ$, denoted as $\bar θ_{loop}$, as a function of the sterile neutrino masses for explicit examples of $V_R$. By requiring the magnitude of $\bar θ_{loop}\lesssim 10^{-10}$, we derive the upper limits on the sterile neutrino masses, which are within reach of direct searches at the Large Hadron Collider and neutrinoless double beta decay experiments. Furthermore, our parametrization is pertinent for other phenomenological investigations.

Atmospheric neutrinos contribute significantly to irreducible backgrounds through their neutral-current (NC) interactions with $^{12}$C nuclei in liquid-scintillator detectors, impacting diffuse supernova neutrino background, nucleon decay, and reactor neutrinos. This paper extends our prior work by systematically studying the NC backgrounds towards the MeV region of reactor neutrinos. We employ contemporary neutrino generator models from GENIE and NuWro for calculations, with a focus on predicting NC background in experimental searches for inverse-beta-decay signals below 100 MeV visible energy. We estimate the systematic uncertainty to our estimation of the NC background using various data-driven neutrino generator models, addressing factors such as the initial neutrino-nucleon NC interaction, the nuclear model, the final-state interaction model, the nucleus deexcitation, and the secondary interaction on final-state particles.

We have phenomenologically investigated the decays $B_s^0 \to X(3872) π^+π^- (K^+ K^-)$ and $B_s^0 \to ψ(2S) π^+ π^- (K^+K^-)$. In our analysis, the scalar meson $f_0(980)$ is formed through the final state interactions of coupled channels $ππ$ and $K\bar{K}$. Our findings indicate that the $π^+π^-$ invariant mass distribution of the $B_s^0 \to ψ(2S)π^+π^-$ decay can be accurately reproduced. Furthermore, we have explored the $π^+π^- (K^+ K^-)$ invariant mass distribution of the $B_s^0 \to X(3872) π^+π^- (K^+ K^-)$ decay, accounting for the different production mechanisms between $X(3872)$ and $ψ(2S)$, up to a global factor. It is found that the production rates for $X(3872)$ and $ψ(2S)$ are much different, which indicates that the structure of $X(3872)$ is more complicated than the $ψ(2S)$, which is a conventional $c\bar{c}$ state. Additionally, we have considered the contributions from $f_0(1500)$ to $π^+π^-$ and the $φ$ meson to $K^+ K^-$ in our analysis. Utilizing the model parameters, we have calculated the branching fraction of $B_s^0 \to X(3872) K^+ K^-$, and anticipate that the findings of our study can be experimentally tested in the future.

Nuclear matrix elements (NMEs) for neutrinoless double-beta ($0νββ$) decay in candidate nuclei play a crucial role in interpreting results from current experiments and in designing future ones. Accurate NME values serve as important nuclear inputs for constraining parameters in new physics, such as neutrino mass and the Wilson coefficients of lepton-number-violating (LNV) operators. In this study, we present a comprehensive calculation of NMEs for $0νββ$ decay in $^{76}$Ge, $^{82}$Se, $^{100}$Mo, $^{130}$Te, and $^{136}$Xe, using nuclear wave functions obtained from multi-reference covariant density functional theory (MR-CDFT). We employ three types of transition potentials at the leading order in chiral effective field theory. Our results, along with recent data, are utilized to constrain the coefficients of LNV operators. The results demonstrate that the combined NMEs based on the Feynman diagrams at the hadronic scale for the nonstandard mechanisms lead to uncertainty by different nuclear models comparable to that for the standard mechanism. The use of NMEs from various nuclear models does not dramatically change the parameter space intervals for the coefficients, although MR-CDFT yields the most stringent constraint. Furthermore, our NMEs can also be used to perform a more comprehensive analysis with multiple isotopes.

We report a first study of the semileptonic decay $D^0\rightarrow K^-π^0μ^{+}ν_μ$ by analyzing an $e^+e^-$ annihilation data sample of $7.9~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ collected at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector. The absolute branching fraction of $D^0\to K^-π^0μ^{+}ν_μ$ is measured for the first time to be $(0.729 \pm 0.014_{\rm stat} \pm 0.011_{\rm syst})\%$. Based on an amplitude analysis, the $S\text{-}{\rm wave}$ contribution is determined to be $(5.76 \pm 0.35_{\rm stat} \pm 0.29_{\rm syst})\%$ of the total decay rate in addition to the dominated $K^{*}(892)^-$ component. The branching fraction of $D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ$ is given to be $(2.062 \pm 0.039_{\rm stat} \pm 0.032_{\rm syst})\%$, which improves the precision of the world average by a factor of 5. Combining with the world average of ${\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-e^+ν_e)$, the ratio of the branching fractions obtained is $\frac{{\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-μ^+ν_μ)}{{\mathcal B}(D^0\to K^{*}(892)^-e^+ν_e)} = 0.96\pm0.08$, in agreement with lepton flavor universality. Furthermore, assuming single-pole dominance parameterization, the most precise hadronic form factor ratios for $D^0\to K^{*}(892)^{-} μ^+ν_μ$ are extracted to be $r_{V}=V(0)/A_1(0)=1.37 \pm 0.09_{\rm stat} \pm 0.03_{\rm syst}$ and $r_{2}=A_2(0)/A_1(0)=0.76 \pm 0.06_{\rm stat} \pm 0.02_{\rm syst}$.

Among the various candidates for dark matter (DM), ultralight vector DM can be probed by laser interferometric gravitational wave detectors through the measurement of oscillating length changes in the arm cavities. In this context, KAGRA has a unique feature due to differing compositions of its mirrors, enhancing the signal of vector DM in the length change in the auxiliary channels. Here we present the result of a search for $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge boson DM using the KAGRA data from auxiliary length channels during the first joint observation run together with GEO600. By applying our search pipeline, which takes into account the stochastic nature of ultralight DM, upper bounds on the coupling strength between the $U(1)_{B-L}$ gauge boson and ordinary matter are obtained for a range of DM masses. While our constraints are less stringent than those derived from previous experiments, this study demonstrates the applicability of our method to the lower-mass vector DM search, which is made difficult in this measurement by the short observation time compared to the auto-correlation time scale of DM.

The radiative transition was assumed to occur through the intermediate bottom mesons, including $P$-wave $B_1^{(\prime)}$ mesons as well as the $S$-wave $B^{(*)}$ ones. The consideration of the $B_1^{(\prime)}$ mesons leads to the couplings to be in $S$-wave, and hence enhances the contributions of the intermediate meson loops. The radiative decay width for the $Υ(10753)\toγX_b$ is predicted to be order of $10~\mathrm{keV}$, corresponding to a branching fraction of $10^{-4}$. Based on the theoretical results, we strongly suggest to search for the $X_b$ in the $e^+e^-\toγX_b$ with $X_b\toππχ_{b1}$ near $\sqrt{s}=10.754~\mathrm{GeV}$, and it is hoped that the calculations here could be tested by the future Belle II experiments.

Assuming the $X_2$ as a pure molecule of the $D^*\bar{D}^*$, we calculated in detail the hidden charmonium decays of the $X_2 \to J/ψV$ and $X_2\toη_cP$ via the intermediate meson loops, where $V = ρ^0\,,ω$ and $P= π^0\,,η\,,η'$. The results indicate that the decay widths are strongly dependent on the $X_2$ mass. At present center value of the mass $4014.3~\mathrm{MeV}$, the width for the $X_2\to J/ψρ^0$ is predicted to be a few tens of keV, while it is on the order of $10^{2\text{-}3}~\mathrm{keV}$ for the $X_2\to J/ ψω$; the predicted width for the $X_2\to η_c π^0$ is about a few keV, while the widths for $X_2\toη_cη$ and $η_cη'$ are around a few tens and tenths of keV, respectively. We also investigated the dependence of the ratios between these widths on the $X_2$ mass and on the $η$-$η'$ mixing angle, which may be good quantities for experiments. We hope that the present calculations would be checked experimentally in the future.

In a commonly accepted range of the model parameter $α$ in the form factor, the predicted branching ratios may reach to the order of $10^{-3}$--$10^{-2}$. The relative ratio of the partial decay widths of the $Υ(10753)\toη_bη^{(\prime)}$ to $Υ(10753)\to η_bω$ is found to be dependent on the $η$-$η'$ mixing angle. In addition, we also calculated the ratios of the partial decays widths of the $Υ(10753) \to η_b ω$ to $Υ(10753)\to Υ(nS)π^+π^-$ ($n=1\,,2$), which are found to be around 0.4 and 0.2 for $n=1$ and $n=2$, respectively. Two near-threshold peaking structures with spin-parities $J^{PC}=0^{++}$ were recently discovered by the LHCb Collaboration in the $D_s^+D_s^-$ invariant mass distribution of the decay process $B^+\to D_s^+D_s^-K^+$. In our study, we employed a coupled-channel model to fit the experimental results published by the LHCb collaboration, simultaneously fitting the model to the invariant mass distributions of $M_{D_s^+D_s^-}$, $M_{D_s^+K^+}$, and $M_{D_s^-K^+}$. We utilized a coupled-channel model to search for the poles of $X(3960)$ and $X_0(4140)$. The determination of the poles is meaningful in itself, and it also lays an foundation for the future research on $X(3960)$ and $X_0(4140)$. Upon turning off the coupled-channel and performing another fit, we observed a change in the fitting quality, the effect was almost entirely due to the peak of $X(3960)$, so we suggest that $X(3960)$ may not be a kinematic effect.

Pulse shape discrimination (PSD) is widely used in particle and nuclear physics. Specifically in liquid scintillator detectors, PSD facilitates the classification of different particle types based on their energy deposition patterns. This technique is particularly valuable for studies of the Diffuse Supernova Neutrino Background (DSNB), nucleon decay, and dark matter searches. This paper presents a detailed investigation of the PSD technique, applied in the DSNB search performed with the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO). Instead of using conventional cut-and-count methods, we employ methods based on Boosted Decision Trees and Neural Networks and compare their capability to distinguish the DSNB signals from the atmospheric neutrino neutral-current background events. The two methods demonstrate comparable performance, resulting in a 50\% to 80\% improvement in signal efficiency compared to a previous study performed for JUNO~\cite{JUNO:2015zny}. Moreover, we study the dependence of the PSD performance on the visible energy and final state composition of the events and find a significant dependence on the presence/absence of $^{11}$C. Finally, we evaluate the impact of the detector effects (photon propagation, PMT dark noise, and waveform reconstruction) on the PSD performance.

In this work, we investigate the isospin breaking decay $X_b \to π^0χ_{bJ}$ and the isospin conserved decay $X_b \to ππχ_{bJ}$, where $X_b$ is taken to be the heavy quark flavor symmetry counterpart of $X(3872)$ in the bottomonium sector as a $B^*\bar B$ molecule candidate. Since the mass of this state may be far below the $B {\bar B}^*$ threshold and the mass difference between the neutral and charged bottom meson is small compared to the binding energy of the $X_b$, the isospin-violating decay channel $X_b \to π^0 χ_{bJ}$ would be highly suppressed. The calculated partial width of $X_b \to ππχ_{b1}$ is found to be about tens of $\rm{keVs}$, $1\sim 2$ order(s) of magnitude larger than those of $X_b \to ππχ_{b2}$ and $X_b \to ππχ_{b0}$. Taking into account the fact that the total width of $X_b$ may be smaller than a few MeV like $X(3872)$, the calculated branching ratios $X_b\to ππχ_{b1}$ may reach to orders of $10^{-2}$, which makes it a possible channel for the experimental searching of the $X_b$.

We investigate the quark-level effective operators related to the neutrinoless double beta $(0νββ)$ decay process, and their ultraviolet completions relevant to chiral enhancement effects at the hadronic level. We have classified several kinds of leptoquark models, matching to different standard model effective operators. Assuming weakly-coupled new physics, we find the ongoing $0νββ$-decay experiments are sensitive to new physics scale at around $2\sim 4$ TeV, which is in the reach of LHC searches. We discuss the discovery potential of such resonances in the same-sign dilepton channels at the LHC. Therefore, the direct LHC searches and indirect $0νββ$-decay searches are complementary to each other in testing the UV completions of the effective operators for $0νββ$ decay.

The core-collapse supernova (CCSN) is considered one of the most energetic astrophysical events in the universe. The early and prompt detection of neutrinos before (pre-SN) and during the supernova (SN) burst presents a unique opportunity for multi-messenger observations of CCSN events. In this study, we describe the monitoring concept and present the sensitivity of the system to pre-SN and SN neutrinos at the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), a 20 kton liquid scintillator detector currently under construction in South China. The real-time monitoring system is designed to ensure both prompt alert speed and comprehensive coverage of progenitor stars. It incorporates prompt monitors on the electronic board as well as online monitors at the data acquisition stage. Assuming a false alert rate of 1 per year, this monitoring system exhibits sensitivity to pre-SN neutrinos up to a distance of approximately 1.6 (0.9) kiloparsecs and SN neutrinos up to about 370 (360) kiloparsecs for a progenitor mass of 30 solar masses, considering both normal and inverted mass ordering scenarios. The pointing ability of the CCSN is evaluated by analyzing the accumulated event anisotropy of inverse beta decay interactions from pre-SN or SN neutrinos. This, along with the early alert, can play a crucial role in facilitating follow-up multi-messenger observations of the next galactic or nearby extragalactic CCSN.

The branching fraction of this decay is measured to be ${\mathcal B}(J/ψ\to e^+ e^- π^0 η(1405) \to e^+ e^- π^0 f_0(980) \to e^+ e^- π^0 π^+ π^-)=(2.02\pm0.24(\rm{stat.})\pm0.09(\rm{syst.}))\times 10^{-7}$. The branching-fraction ratio ${\mathcal B}(J/ψ\to e^+ e^- η(1405))$/${\mathcal B}(J/ψ\to γη(1405))$ is determined to be $(1.35\pm0.19(\rm{stat.})\pm0.06(\rm{syst.}))\times10^{-2}$. Furthermore, an $e^+e^-$ invariant-mass dependent transition form factor of $J/ψ\to e^+ e^-η(1405)$ is presented for the first time. The obtained result provides input for different theoretical models, and is valuable for the improved understanding the intrinsic structure of the $η(1405)$ meson.

The $I=0$ $D^*D$ rescattering effect with the $T_{cc}$ pole is taken into account. The results show that the isoscalar $D^{\ast} D$ rescattering can increase the tree-level decay width of $T_{cc}^{\ast +}\rightarrow D^{*+}D^0γ$ by about $50\%$, while decrease that of $T_{cc}^{\ast +}\rightarrow D^{*0}D^+γ$ by a similar amount. The two-body partial decay widths of the $T_{cc}^{*+}$ into $T_{cc}^+γ$ and $T_{cc}^+π^0$ are also calculated, and the results are about $6~\rm{keV}$ and $3~\rm{keV}$, respectively. Considering that the $D^*$ needs to be reconstructed from the $Dπ$ or $Dγ$ final state in an experimental measurement, the four-body partial widths of the $T_{cc}^{*+}$ into $DDγγ$ and $DDπγ$ are explicitly calculated, and we find that the interference effect between different intermediate $D^*Dγ$ states is small. The total radiative decay width of the $T_{cc}^*$ is predicted to be about $24~\rm{keV}$. Adding the hadronic decay widths of $T_{cc}^* \to D^*Dπ$, the total width of the $T_{cc}^*$ is finally predicted to be $(65\pm2)$ keV.

We discuss JUNO sensitivity to the annihilation of MeV dark matter in the galactic halo via detecting inverse beta decay reactions of electron anti-neutrinos resulting from the annihilation. We study possible backgrounds to the signature, including the reactor neutrinos, diffuse supernova neutrino background, charged- and neutral-current interactions of atmospheric neutrinos, backgrounds from muon-induced fast neutrons and cosmogenic isotopes. A fiducial volume cut, as well as the pulse shape discrimination and the muon veto are applied to suppress the above backgrounds. It is shown that JUNO sensitivity to the thermally averaged dark matter annihilation rate in 10 years of exposure would be significantly better than the present-day best limit set by Super-Kamiokande and would be comparable to that expected by Hyper-Kamiokande.

The flavor-changing neutral current (FCNC) decays of charmed hadrons with missing energy $(\not\!\!E)$ can serve as potentially promising hunting grounds for hints of new physics, as the standard-model backgrounds are very suppressed. A few of such processes have been searched for in recent experiments, specifically $D^0\to\,\not\!\!E$ by Belle and $D^0\toπ^0$$\not\!\!E$ and $Λ_c^+\to p\!\not\!\!E$ by BESIII, resulting in upper bounds on their branching fractions. We consider them to illuminate the possible contributions of the quark transition $c\to u\!\not\!\!E$ with a couple of invisible spinless bosons carrying away the missing energy, assuming that they are not charge conjugates of each other and hence can have unequal masses. We find that these data are complementary in that they constrain different sets of the underlying operators and do not cover the same ranges of the bosons' masses, but there are regions not yet accessible. From the allowed parameter space, we show that other $D$-meson decays, such as $D\toρ$$\not\!\!E$, and the charmed-baryon ones $Ξ_c\to(Σ,Λ)$$\not\!\!E$ can have sizable branching fractions and therefore may offer further probes of the new-physics interactions. We point out the importance of $D^0\toγ\!\not\!\!E$ which are not yet searched for but could access parts of the parameter space beyond the reach of the other modes. In addition, we look at a scenario where the invisibles are instead fermionic, namely sterile neutrinos, and a scalar leptoquark mediates $c\to u\!\not\!\!E$. We discuss the implications of the aforesaid bounds for this model. The predictions we make for the various charmed-hadron decays in the different scenarios may be testable in the near future by BESIII and Belle II.

Since the first detection of gravitational waves in 2015, gravitational-wave astronomy has emerged as a rapidly advancing field that holds great potential for studying the cosmos, from probing the properties of black holes to testing the limits of our current understanding of gravity. One important aspect of gravitational-wave astronomy is the phenomenon of gravitational lensing, where massive intervening objects can bend and magnify gravitational waves, providing a unique way to probe the distribution of matter in the universe, as well as finding applications to fundamental physics, astrophysics, and cosmology. However, current models for gravitational-wave millilensing - a specific form of lensing where small-scale astrophysical objects can split a gravitational wave signal into multiple copies - are often limited to simple isolated lenses, which is not realistic for complex lensing scenarios. In this paper, we present a novel phenomenological approach to incorporate millilensing in data analysis in a model-independent fashion. Our approach enables the recovery of arbitrary lens configurations without the need for extensive computational lens modeling, making it a more accurate and computationally efficient tool for studying the distribution of matter in the universe using gravitational-wave signals. When gravitational-wave lensing observations become possible, our method can provide a powerful tool for studying complex lens configurations, including dark matter subhalos and MACHOs.

Here we study the quark orbital angular momentum of the ground octet baryons employing an extended chiral constituent quark model, within which the baryon wave functions are taken to be superposition of the traditional $qqq$ and the $qqqq\bar{q}$ higher Fock components. Coupling between the two configurations is estimated using the $^3P_{0}$ quark-antiquark creation mechanism, and the corresponding coupling strength is determined by fitting the sea flavor asymmetry of the nucleon. The obtained numerical results show that the quark angular momentum of the nucleon, $Σ$, $Λ$ and $Ξ$ hyperons are in the range $0.10$-$0.30$. In addition, the quark angular momentum of all the hyperons are a little bit smaller than that of the nucleon. And the octet baryons spin fractions taken by the intrinsic quark orbital angular momentum could be up to $60\%$ in present model.

The branching fraction is determined to be ${\mathcal B}(Σ^+ \to Λe^+ ν_{e}) = [2.93\pm0.74(\rm stat) \pm 0.13(\rm syst)]\times 10^{-5}$, which is the most precise measurement obtained in a single experiment to date and also the first result obtained at a collider experiment. Combining this result with the world average of ${\mathcal B}(Σ^- \to Λe^- \barν_{e})$ and the lifetimes of $Σ^{\pm}$, the ratio, $\frac{Γ(Σ^- \to Λe^- \barν_{e})}{Γ(Σ^+ \to Λe^+ ν_{e})}$, is determined to be $1.06 \pm 0.28$, which is within 1.8 standard deviations of the value expected in the absence of second-class currents that are forbidden in the Standard Model.

From the bounds of the coupling constants extracted from the recent BES III experiment on the decay of $D^{0}\toπ^{0}\barνν$, we predict that the decay branching ratios of $D^{+}\toπ^{+}S$, $D_s^+\to K^+S$, $Λ_c\to pS$, $Ξ_c^{0(+)}\to Σ^{0(+)}S$, and $Ξ_c^0\toΛS$ can be as large as $10.6,~2.53,~2.39,~0.963,~5.77$, and $2.92\times10^{-4}$ with $m_{_S}\approx 1.1~{\rm GeV}$, respectively. Some of these decay modes are accessible to the ongoing experiments, such as BES III, LHCb and Belle II, as well as the future ones, such as FCC-ee.

We find that if Y(4630) is interpreted as the D-wave resonant state of $Λ_c \bar Λ_c$ system, the particle mass, decay width and all quantum numbers are consistent with experimental observations. We use the Bonn approximation to get the interaction potential of one boson exchange model, then extend the complex scaling method (CSM) to calculate the bound and resonant states. The results indicate that the $Λ_c \barΛ_c$ system can form not only the bound state of S wave, but also the resonant state of the high angular momentum, and the $^3D_1$ wave resonant state can explain the structure of Y(4630) very well.

In our calculations, the $Z_b(10610)$ and $Z_b(10650)$ are regarded as $B\bar{B}^*+c.c.$ and $B^*\bar{B}^*$ molecular states, respectively. The predicted branching ratios of $Z_b(10610)\rightarrow VP$ are about in the order of $10^{-2}$, while the branching ratios of $Z_b(10650)\rightarrow VP$ are in the order of $10^{-3}$. Furthermore, the dependence of these ratios between different decay modes of $Z_b(10610)/Z_b(10650)$ on the mixing $η-η^\prime$ angle $θ_P$ is investigated, which may be a good quantity for the experiments. It is hoped that the calculations here could be tested by future experiments.

Starting from the hypothesis that the $T_{cc}^+$ discovered at LHCb is a $D^{\ast+} D^0/D^{\ast 0}D^+$ hadronic molecule, we consider the partial width of its heavy quark spin partner, the $T_{cc}^{\ast +}$ as a $D^{\ast +} D^{\ast 0}$ shallow bound state, decaying into the $D^{\ast}Dπ$ final states including the contributions of the $D^{\ast} D$ and $D^{\ast} π$ final state interaction by using a…

Because of the existence of the $T_{cc}^+$ pole, the $I=0$ $D^{\ast} D$ rescattering can give a sizeable correction up to about $40\%$ to the decay widths considering only the tree diagrams, and the $D^{\ast} π$ rescattering correction is about $10\%$. The four-body partial widths of the $T_{cc}^{*+}$ into $D Dππ$ are also explicitly calculated, and we find that the interference effect between different intermediate $D^*Dπ$ states is small. The total width of the $T_{cc}^{*+}$ is predicted to be about 41 keV.

The physics potential of detecting $^8$B solar neutrinos will be exploited at the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), in a model independent manner by using three distinct channels of the charged-current (CC), neutral-current (NC) and elastic scattering (ES) interactions. Due to the largest-ever mass of $^{13}$C nuclei in the liquid-scintillator detectors and the {expected} low background level, $^8$B solar neutrinos would be observable in the CC and NC interactions on $^{13}$C for the first time. By virtue of optimized event selections and muon veto strategies, backgrounds from the accidental coincidence, muon-induced isotopes, and external backgrounds can be greatly suppressed. Excellent signal-to-background ratios can be achieved in the CC, NC and ES channels to guarantee the $^8$B solar neutrino observation. From the sensitivity studies performed in this work, we show that JUNO, with ten years of data, can reach the {1$σ$} precision levels of 5%, 8% and 20% for the $^8$B neutrino flux, $\sin^2θ_{12}$, and $Δm^2_{21}$, respectively. It would be unique and helpful to probe the details of both solar physics and neutrino physics. In addition, when combined with SNO, the world-best precision of 3% is expected for the $^8$B neutrino flux measurement.

By considering the contributions of intermediate charmed mesons triangle loops within an effective Lagrangian approach, it is shown that the calculated partial widths of $Z_c(3900) \to γχ_{cJ}$ are about a few hundreds keVs, while the obtained partial widths $Z_c(4020) \to γχ_{cJ}$ are about tens of keVs. The predicted partial widths of $Z_c(3900)\toγχ_{c0,1}^\prime$ are less than 1 keV, which mainly due to the very small phase space. For $Z_c(4020)\toγχ_{c0,2}^\prime$, the calculated partial widths are usually smaller than 1 keV. For the $Z_c(4020)\toγχ_{c1}^\prime$ process, the obtained partial widths can reach up to the order of 10 keV. Furthermore, the dependence of these ratios between different decay modes on the masses of $Z_c(3900)$ or $Z_c(4020)$ are also investigated, which may be a good quantity for the experiments. It is hoped that these calculations here could be tested by future experiments.

In present work, spectrum of the $S$-wave fully-heavy tetraquark states $QQ\bar{Q}\bar{Q}$ ($Q=c,b$), i.e., $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$, $bb\bar{b}\bar{b}$, $cc\bar{b}\bar{b}$/$bb\bar{c}\bar{c}$, $bc\bar{c}\bar{c}$/ $cc\bar{b}\bar{c}$, $bb\bar{c}\bar{b}$/$cb\bar{b}\bar{b}$, and $bc\bar{b}\bar{c}$ are systematically investigated within an nonrelativistic constituent quark model, in which the Instanton-induced and one-gluon-exchange interactions are taken into account as the residual spin-dependent hyperfine interaction. Our results show that the states with $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$ and $bb\bar{b}\bar{b}$ components could be located around $ 6500$ MeV and $ 19200$ MeV, respectively. Based on our calculations, the new $X(6900)$ state observed by LHCb may be not a ground $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$ tetraquark state, while it could be an orbitally or radially excited state of $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$ system. On the other hand, the recently reported $X(6600)$ state by CMS and ATLAS can be explained as a ground $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$ tetraquark state with spin-parity $J^{PC} =0^{++}$.

Based on a molecular nature of $X(3872)$ as a $\bar{D}D^*$ bound state, we have investigated the charmless decays $X(3872) \to VV$ and $VP$ via intermediate $D^*{\bar D} +c.c.$ meson loops, where $V$ and $P$ stand for light vector and pseudoscalar mesons, respectively. We discuss three cases, i.e., pure neutral components ($θ=0$), isospin singlet ($θ=π/4$) and neutral components dominant ($θ= π/6$), where $θ$ is a phase angle describing the proportion of neutral and charged constituents. The proportion of neutral and charged constituent have an influence on the decay widths of $X(3872) \to VV$ and $VP$. With the coupling constant of $X(3872)$ to the $\bar{D}D^*$ channel obtained under the molecule ansatz of $X(3872)$ resonance, the predicted decay widths of $X(3872)\rightarrow VV$ are about tens of keVs, while the decay width can reach a few hundreds of keVs for $X(3872)\to VP$. The dependence of these ratios between different decay modes of $X(3872)\to VV$ and $X(3872)\to VP$ to the mixing angle $θ$ is also investigated. It is expected that the theoretical calculations here can be tested by future experiments.
