In Memoriam Nikolai Uraltsev : Uraltsev's and other Sum Rules, Theory and Phenomenology of $D^{**}$'s
Abstract: We first discuss Uraltsev's and other sum rules constraining the $B \to D^{**}(L=1)$ weak transitions in the infinite mass limit, and compare them with dynamical approaches in the same limit. After recalling these well established facts, we discuss how to apply infinite mass limit to the physical situation. Semileptonic $B \to D^{**}$ decays in Lattice QCD : a feasibility study and first results
Abstract: We compute the decays ${B\to D^\ast_0}$ and ${B\to D^\ast_2}$ with finite masses for the $b$ and $c$ quarks. We first discuss the spectral properties of both the $B$ meson as a function of its momentum and of the $D^\ast_0$ and $D^\ast_2$ at rest. We compute the theoretical formulae leading to the decay amplitudes from the three-point and two-point correlators. We then compute the amplitudes at ze… ▽ More

Three-gluon running coupling from lattice QCD at $N_f=2+1+1$: a consistency check of the OPE approach
Abstract: We present a lattice calculation of the renormalized running coupling constant in symmetric (MOM) and asymmetric ($\widetilde{\rm MOM}$) momentum substraction schemes including $u$, $d$, $s$ and $c$ quarks in the sea. An Operator Product Expansion dominated by the dimension-two $\langle A^2\rangle$ condensate is used to fit the running of the coupling. We argue that the agreement in the predicted… ▽ More

High statistics determination of the strong coupling constant in Taylor scheme and its OPE Wilson coefficient from lattice QCD with a dynamical charm

A high-statistics sample of gauge configurations, used to evaluate the coupling from ghost and gluon propagators, allows for the appropriate update of previous results, now performing an imp… ▽ More

Lattice measurement of α_s with a realistic charm quark
Abstract: We report on an estimate of α_s, renormalised in the MSbar scheme at the tau and Z^0 mass scales, by means of lattice QCD. Our major improvement compared to previous lattice calculations is that, for the first time, no perturbative treatment at the charm threshold has been required since we have used statistical samples of gluon fields built by incorporating the vacuum polarisation effects of u/d,… ▽ More

A Ghost Story II: Ghosts, Gluons and the Gluon condensate beyond the IR of QCD
Abstract: Beyond the deep IR, the analysis of ghost and gluon propagators still keeps very interesting non-perturbative information. The Taylor-scheme coupling can be computed and applied to obtain the $Λ_{\rm QCD}$ parameter from Landau gauge lattice simulations. Furthermore, a dimension-two gluon condensate, that can be understood in the instanton liquid model, plays an important role in the game.

Abstract: We present the results of a quenched lattice QCD study of the coupling g_hat, in the static heavy quark limit. After combining this with our previous results obtained by using propagating heavy quarks with a mass around the physical charm quark, we are able to interpolate to the b-quark sector. Our results are g_hat_infinity = 0.48 +/- 0.03 +/- 0.11, g_hat_b = 0.58 +/- 0.06 +/- 0.10, and g_Bstar… ▽ More

Phenomenological discussion of $B\to P V$ decays in QCD improved factorization approach
Abstract: Trying a global fit of the experimental branching ratios and CP-asymmetries of the charmless $B\to PV$ decays according to QCD factorization, we find it impossible to reach a satisfactory agreement, the confidence level (CL) of the best fit is smaller than .1 %. This failure reflects the difficulty to accommodate several large experimental branching ratios of the strange channels. Furthermore, e… ▽ More

Testing QCD factorisation and charming penguins in charmless ${\boldsymbol{B\to PV}}$
Abstract: We try a global fit of the experimental branching ratios and CP-asymmetries of the charmless $B\to PV$ decays according to QCD factorisation. We find it impossible to reach a satisfactory agreement, the confidence level (CL) of the best fit is smaller than .1 %. The strong coupling constant at small momentum as an instanton detector
Abstract: We present a study of $α_{MOM}(p)$ at small p computed from the lattice. It shows a dramatic $\propto p^4$ law which can be understood within an instanton liquid model. In this framework the prefactor gives a direct measure of the instanton density in thermalised configurations. A preliminary result for this density is 5.27(4) fm^{-4}.

Possible explanation of the discrepancy of the light-cone QCD sum rule calculation of g(D*Dpi) coupling with experiment
Abstract: The introduction of an explicit negative radial excitation contribution in the hadronic side of the light cone QCD sum rule (LCSR) of Belyaev, Braun, Khodjamirian and Ruckl, can explain the large experimental value of g(D*Dpi), recently measured by CLEO. At the same time, it considerably improves the stability of the sum rule when varying the Borel parameter.

O.P.E. and Power Corrections to the QCD coupling constant
Abstract: Lattice data seems to show that power corrections should be convoked to describe appropriately the transition of the QCD coupling constant running from U.V. to I.R. domains. Those power corrections for the Landau-gauge MOM coupling constant in a pure Yang-Mills theory (N_f=0) are analysed in terms of Operator Product Expansion (O.P.E.) of two- and three-point Green functions, the gluon condensat… ▽ More

An Instanton Picture O.P.E. <A^2> Condensate?
Abstract: Gluon two- and three-point Green Functions computed in Landau gauge from the lattice show the existence of power corrections to the purely perturbative expressions, that can be explained through an Operator Product Expansion as the influence of a non gauge invariant mass dimension two condensate. The relationship of this condensate with topological properties of QCD, namely instantons, will be s… ▽ More

A lattice estimate of the g_{D^* D pi} coupling
Abstract: We present the results of the first direct determination of the g_{D^* D pi} coupling using lattice QCD. From our simulations in the quenched approximation, we obtain g_{D^* D pi} = 18.8 +/- 2.3^{+1.1}_{-2.0} and hat(g) = 0.67 +/- 0.08^{+0.04}_{-0.06}. It is in agreement with a recent experimental result from CLEO.

A transparent expression of the A^2-Condensate's renormalisation
Abstract: We give a more transparent understanding of the vacuum expectation value of the renormalised local operator A^2 by relating it to the gluon propagator integrated over the momentum. The quadratically divergent perturbative contribution is subtracted and the remainder, dominantly due to the O(1/p^2) correction to the perturbative propagator at large p^2 is logarithmically divergent. This provides… ▽ More

First lattice QCD estimate of the g_{D^* D pi} coupling
Abstract: We present the results of the first lattice QCD study of the strong coupling g_{D^* D pi}. From our simulations in the quenched approximation, we obtain g_{D^* D pi} = 18.8 +/- 2.3^{+1.1}_{-2.0} and hat(g)_c = 0.67 +/- 0.08^{+0.04}_{-0.06}. Whereas previous theoretical studies gave different predictions, our result favours a large value for hat(g)_c. It agrees very well with the recent experimen… ▽ More

OPE and Powers corrections on the QCD coupling constant
Abstract: The running coupling constant can be estimated by computing gluon two- and three-point Green functions from the lattice. Computing in lattice implies working in a fixed gauge sector (Landau). An source of systematic uncertainty is then the contribution of non gauge-invariant condensates, as $<A^2 >$, generating power corrections that might still be important at very high energies. We study the i… ▽ More
