It is done to clarify which are the crucial variables affecting building thermal performance and to evaluate quantitatively those effects. It can be conducted both through energy simulation models and real case observations. The present paper is devoted to the description of the sensitivity analysis techniques that are able to extract the most effective parameters on the energy consumption of a commercial building, particularly medical centers. Energy consumption in medical centers, generally, depends on several parameters ranging from technical and geometrical aspects to climatic conditions. This paper is focused on the application of sensitivity analysis in term of energy consumption in medical centers through a benchmark simulation model which is developed by National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in order to classify the most effective parameters on energy consumption of a large hospitals.

Sometimes it can not be decided beforehand which mechanism to use. This article discusses an approach that makes it possible to dynamically calibrate between pushing and pulling in wireless sensor networks. This approach is called ‘adaptive leases’. It allows for the sources and sinks of sensor data to decide for each communicated value at run-time whether pulling or pushing will be used. Doing so, nodes can dynamically optimize for power, memory, and bandwidth usage.

The introduction of the Industrial Internet of Things with increasingly smarter devices drives towards flatter hierarchies. This paper deals with an architecture for integration of IIoT devices in the manufacturing environment utilizing a Multi Agent System to this end. This extended architecture is utilised so as to perform failure detection of both IIoT devices and manufacturing resources, and react by altering the manufacturing process either automatically or semi-automatically.

The first objective of the project was the development of an integrated toolset for Wireless sensor networks (WSN) application planning, development, commissioning and maintenance, which aims to support application domain experts, with limited WSN expertise, to efficiently develop WSN applications from planning to lifetime maintenance. The toolset is made of three main tools: one for planning, one for application development and simulation (which can include hardware nodes), and one for network commissioning and lifetime maintenance. The tools are integrated in a single platform which promotes software reuse by automatically selecting suitable library components for application synthesis and the abstraction of the underlying architecture through the use of a middleware layer. The second objective of the project was to test the effectiveness of the toolset ...
