II. Abdülhamit’in müstebit idaresi eleştirilmekle beraber devletin içinde bulunduğu zor koşullara atıf ile meşrulaştırılmakta, Sultanın her alanda gerçekleştirdiği reformlar övülmektedir.

The Turkish Image in the Arabic Textbooks for History Used In Israeli State Schools
Abstract: This study examines the Turkish image presented in the Arabic history textbooks used since the 1970s in the Israeli state schools for Arab citizens. The works in the literature that touch upon the Turkish image in Israeli textbooks generally examine only the books in Hebrew, without considering those in Arabic. Focusing on the images of Turks found in the twelve Arabic books dwelling on Turkish history, the content analysis reveals five main themes: Tolerance for Non-Muslims, Turkish Rulers, the Period of Decline, the Oppressive Rule of the Unionists and the Arab Revolt, and Turkish Image in the Visual Materials. The passages about the tolerant treatment of the non-Muslim communities in the Ottoman Empire as well as those about Osman Bey, Mehmed the Conqueror, Suleiman the Magnificent and Atatürk project an unequivocally positive Turkish image. Abdulhamid II is both criticized for his oppressive rule and praised for his reforms. Only the image of Selim I, portrayed as a cruel and bloodthirsty ruler, is completely negative. The Turkish image in the books deteriorates in chapters dealing with the period of decline, as they point out the harmful effects of the collapse of central authority on the economy and security of the provinces. The most negative Turkish image is found in the passages on the ruling period of the Young Turks, who the books say carried out a rigid policy of Turkification and pushed the Arabs to rebellion. Images from the period of decline and disintegration also dominate the visual material. Keywords: Israel, History Education, Arabic History Textbooks, Turkish Image, Ottoman Empire

Fakat katıldığı çeşitli toplantılarda dönemin Mısır Cumhurbaşkanı Cemal Abdunnasır'a dair eleştirel tutumlar takınınca bursu kesilerek Mısır'a geri çağırılmıştır.

THE SELJUKS IN THE VIEW OF ISRAELI HISTORY TEXTBOOKS (1948-2014): THEIR RULE IN PALESTINE AND JERUSALEM AND THEIR ROLE IN THE LAUNCHING OF THE CRUSADES AND THE JIHAD MOVEMENT
This study aims to investigate how the history of the Seljuks, their rule in Palestine and Jerusalem, and their role in the launching of the Crusades and the jihad movement have been covered in the Hebrew and Arabic history textbooks published until today in Israel. Differently from the books in Arabic, almost none of the Hebrew books cover Seljuk history as a topic independent of the Crusades. When they touch upon it within the Crusading context, they attribute the launching of the Crusades to the Seljuks’ oppression of the Christians in the newly conquered Palestine and Jerusalem. Most Arabic books do not adopt this line of explanation, and tend to emphasize the material motives of the Crusaders. The negative view of the Seljuks evident in the Hebrew books also finds reflection in their argument that the establishment of Seljuk rule over Syria and Palestine led to a sharp rupture in the Christian-Muslim relations and in the Mediterranean trade, and that the situation improved only through the arrival of the Crusaders. This line of argument is similarly absent from the Arabic books. The books in Hebrew and Arabic also cover the struggles of Zangi and Nur al-Din Mahmud against the Crusaders. While some books in Hebrew adopt a critical line of approach, arguing that the Zangids used the jihad movement to expand their power over the other Muslim principalities, the Arabic books content themselves with praising both leaders as the originators of the movement.

The Ottoman-Jewish Relations until the Tanzimat in the View of Israeli History Textbooks (1948-2014)
Abstract
This article examines how the Ottoman-Jewish relations have been treated in Israeli history textbooks from the past until today. It is observed that the approach of the books regarding the relations in the classical period and afterwards is quite different. In relating the classical period, the books touch upon the tolerant attitude adopted by the Ottomans against the Jews, and the considerable autonomy they allowed them in communal affairs. In relating the last centuries of the Empire, on the other hand, the books stress the deterioration in the status of the Jews, especially those in Palestine, and relate how they were subjected to discrimination, arbitrary treatment and exploitation. Nevertheless, they attribute the cause of this deterioration not to any change of attitude on the part of the Ottoman central government, but rather to its growing weakness and resulting inability to offer the Jews protection against local powers.

Bunlardan, Hz. Îsâ’nın bütün havârilerinin Lübnan’ın güney sahillerindeki Sûr şehri ve civarından olmaları dolayısıyla Sûrîîn adıyla anıldıkları ve Ârâmîler’in Hıristiyanlığı kabul ettikten sonra kendilerini putperest soydaşlarından ayırmak amacıyla bu adı benimsedikleri şeklindeki görüş muhtemel görülmekte, Süryânîce’nin Urfa (Urhâi, Edessa, er-Ruhâ’) Ârâmîcesi’nin bir lehçesi olması da bu görüşü desteklemektedir. İbn Hazm’a göre ilk defa Arapça konuşan kişi Hz.
