Method: Descriptive survey research design was used to examine if any significant relationship exists between choice of music and deviant behaviour amongst undergraduate students. Stratified random sampling method was used to select 269 participants from a private university in Ogun State Nigeria. Data was collected using a self-structured questionnaire that has alpha coefficient reliability of .76. Findings: revealed that the most selected music genre by the students is Hip-hop and the deviant behaviour associated with this genre is tattooing Rap music was observed to be strongly associated with deviant behaviours such as, drug abuse and examination malpractices, a significant relationship exist between Afro-beat and drug abuse. Conclusion: It was therefore concluded that the type of music listen to, is a contributing factor to deviant behaviour. The findings suggest that students should be encouraged to listen to music with lyrics that uphold virtues and musicians should produce music with lyrics that teach morals.

This has constituted a source of concern for all stakeholders in the Nigerian educational system. This study, therefore, adopted a descriptive survey research design to investigate the impact of moonlighting on teachers' job performance in public primary schools in a selected Local Government Area, Ogun State. Participants for this study consist of 150 primary school teachers selected from the population of 538 from 62 public primary schools using a simple random sampling technique. Data was collected using a self-structured questionnaire. Data collected were analysed using an independent sample t-test and multiple regression analysis for the three hypotheses. The findings revealed no significant gender difference in moonlighting among public primary school teachers, with a t-cal of 0.257 and p-value>0.05(0.797). However, a significant difference exists between moonlighting of unmarried and married public primary school teachers with a higher t-cal of 2.821 and p-value< 0.05 (0.005). Furthermore, the regression analysis results showed that moonlighting significantly influenced teachers' job performance in public primary schools with F (3, 146) = 317.654, p< 0.05, R 2 = 0.867. The study conclusively clarified that moonlighting significantly impacted teachers' job performance. It was therefore recommended that the government put in place motivational techniques to minimise moonlighting among teachers so that they can be more focused on the assigned job.

The study employed the descriptive survey design to elicit information from the students. Three hundred and forty-eight adolescents randomly selected from three secondary schools participated in the study. The ages of the
participants ranged from 12 to 18 (Mean ¼ 15.85 years). Standardized instruments were used to measure the independent and dependent variables. Results from the study show that two of the independent variables (Family relationship and Family structure) had significant correlation with substance use of these participants, whereas, family socio-economic status did not show correlation with substance use.
Again, the results from the study show that the independent variables jointly contributed to substance use among the adolescents (a multiple correlation square (R2) of 0.362). This implies that 36.2% of the total variance in substance use of the participants is accounted for by the combination of the three independent variables. Recommendations for the study among others, include the need to forge strong relationship between parents and their children irrespective of the family structure. Also operating open and flexible family relationship that encourages a feeling of being integral parts of the family should be encouraged.

It has been proved by past studies that conflict destroys and ends up in disaster. It is against this background that the study investigated the causes of conflict and the use of language and communication for its resolution among the university students. A descriptive survey was employed for the study. Two universities were selected randomly from the nine universities in Ogun State, Nigeria: Olabisi Onabanjo University and Tai Solarin University of Education respectively. A self structured questionnaire was used to generate data from 200 students out of which 171 were returned for data analysis. Descriptive statistics was used to answer the two research questions and t-test was used to test the stated hypothesis. The result identified a lot of factors such as overcrowding in the halls of residence ,unresolved disagreement and personality clashes among others were some...

Two hundred and eight senior secondary school students were randomly selected from six secondary schools in Ibadan. Data was collected using a self-structured questionnaire that covers all the variables under study. Percentage was used to answer the research questions while Pearson product moment correlation coefficient was used to test the hypotheses postulated. The findings indicated that information sources that are mostly available in secondary schools are the teachers and lesson notes while library and internet facilities are the least available. The result of the hypotheses showed significant relationship between the independent variables (information sources availability and use) and dependent variable (academic performance). r (206) = .21, p < .01. A total of 190 married employed students on part time studies in educational institutions in Ogun State, Nigeria served as participants in the study. The ages of the participants ranged from 18 to 64 years with 85 males and 105 females. Three instruments were used in the study. They included a 6-item Workload Scale, a 40-item Academic Stress Scale, and Enrich Marital Satisfaction Scale (EMSS) which contained 15 items. Four hypotheses were posited and tested in this study at the .05 level of significance using multiple regression analysis. Results showed that academic stress and workload significantly combined to influence marital satisfaction (F(2,187) = 198.820, p < .05) accounting for 67.7% of the variance in marital satisfaction (R2(Adj) = .677). Findings of this research also show that academic stress and workload have significa...

Methods: The study employed descriptive survey research design of an expost-facto type. A sample of 1200 senior secondary school 3 students (SS3) selected through the use of stratified and simple random sampling techniques from forty (40) secondary schools in the four educational zones (RIYE) in Ogun State, Nigeria. Three schools were purposively selected in Ikenne local Government and Two hundred and thirty-one Senior Secondary School students from these schools participated in the study. Three instruments namely, Adolescent Self-Regulatory Inventory (ASRI), Monitoring the Future Study and Delinquent Subscale of the Child Behaviour Checklist – Youth Self Report were adapted to examine the effect of independent variables on dependent variable. Reliability values of 0.78, 0.65 and 0.75 respectively were obtained for the instrument. Multiple regression and independent t-test were used to test the three hypotheses postulated. The participants for this study were seventy-two (36 females and 36 males) inmates taken from a cluster of delinquent children (ages 9 – 18) of Remand Homes for boys and girls in Lagos State of Nigeria. A 2X2X3 pre-test post-test factorial design was adopted. Four hypotheses were tested based on analysis of co-variance (ANCOVA) at .05 level of significance. Data were collected using Disorderliness Inventory (DI) which has alpha reliability coefficient of .80. The result of the study revealed a significant difference in the effectiveness of self-management and token reinforcement in the treatment of disorderliness (P < .05), gender and socio-economic background of the subject did not interact with the treatments of disorderliness. Based on the result of this study, implications were pointed out.

Two hundred and fifty participants were randomly selected from a tertiary institution in Ogun State, Nigeria. Multiple regression analysis was employed to determine the joint and relative contributions of the independent variables to the prediction of the dependent variable. The influence of independent variables (IVs) on the dependent (DV) is 34.1 %. It means that all the four IVs combined (UPS, MP, IUCC, and DUA) have 34.1% effect on the DV (SA). Conclusions: The findings underscore the need for every stakeholders-parents, teachers, guidance counsellors, psychologists, and policy makers to focus attention on the global sexual health status of an individual, which is as a result of the interactions between biological, social, psychological, and behavioural, as well as spiritual domains. This in turn will lead to adequate health promotion that is an important determining individual health status which held the individual responsible for his own health.
