Are you a novice bioinformatician looking to expand your knowledge and skills?
Are you an 'omics expert wanting to share your experience with others?

If any of the above sound like you, you have come to the right place!
This is the home of the BCCHR Trainee 'Omics Group, a team of enthusiastic trainees from across the different research themes at BCCHR who are eager to make bioinformatics and data analysis accessible (and fun) for everyone - be it a fellow trainee, research staff, or even a PI wanting analysis support!

We host beginner and intermediate workshops and tutorials working in R, extra resources for coding and statistical analyses, materials for our upcoming workshops, and an “Ask a Statistician” feature where you can email us with your specific data analysis questions or suggestions for new content.

TOG has also led to the facilitation of collaborations across labs within BC Children's and BC Cancer - you never know when someone from the TOG community might be needing your specific expertise!

We are always available for support, and wish you good luck on your data analysis journey with the hope to see you at a workshop soon and joining the TOG Community!

We understand that data analysis can sometimes be a bit tricky, and we want you to know that we’re here to help. We’re pleased to inform you about the availability of our Data Analysis Help Sessions, designed to provide you with the support you need, when you need it. These sessions are available on a request basis, with a focus on addressing your specific data analysis challenges. We encourage you to fill out this Google Form to let us know how we can assist you best. To ensure we connect you with the right expert, please provide detailed information, including:

  • - The type of dataset you’re working with (if applicable).
  • - Any specific error messages you’ve encountered (if applicable).
  • - Describe what you’re trying to achieve.

Our team of data analysts will review your responses and connect you with the most suitable person who can assist you effectively.
