Among other pioneers (APLISC, 1994; APLIEMGE, 1993; APIRS, 1989; APLIESP; 1985) promoting exchang... more Among other pioneers (APLISC, 1994; APLIEMGE, 1993; APIRS, 1989; APLIESP; 1985) promoting exchange and proximity of English language teachers of different educational backgrounds, the Paraná State English language Teachers Association (APLIEPAR) has been developing its activities since 1986 aiming at representing and gathering this professional category in various contexts and issues of their interest. Founded by professors of the Languages Department from Londrina State University, this association emerged from the will for the union and the promotion of a reflective space focusing on the English language teaching in Brazil. In the view of 30 years’ history (to be complete on November, 9th), the current directors’ board (term 2016-2017)sees APLIEPAR by the lenses of persistence, both from former directors and the associates, who have faced moments enthusiastic accomplishments and strategic stopover, in ways of keeping the foundations of their mission in promoting the English language teaching agenda.
