The paper introduces the idea of autonomous logistic processes and presents a simulation model of a shop floor with both a conventionally planned and an autonomously controlled scenario. The decen- tralised and autonomous control strategy bases

CPS offer the potential to improve processes in modern value networks. By improving processes, especially jobs with no demand for qualified workers can be dispensed. Another effect are jobs being standardised, that they become very monotonous for the workers. For providing satisfying jobs especially for low qualified workers in future working environments some opportunities CPS offer were presented. First opportunities consumer devices offer were presented, second concepts for user-friendly human machine interfaces were illustrated.

This paper explores resource sharing in a production network and explains how different sharing mechanisms impact the performance of the stakeholders and the dynamics of the entire network. These analyses are carried out using a simulation model and a control-theoretic model. The results show that the introduced sharing approach controls inventory and resource utilization, but it can cause shifts and fluctuations in performance depending on the information that is exchanged.

Thus, between many independent companies strong linkages develop and production and logistics networks emerge. These networks are characterised by permanently increasing complexity, and are nowadays forced to adapt to dynamically changing markets. This factor complicates an enterprise-spreading production planning and control enormously. Therefore, a continuous flow model for production networks will be derived regarding these special logistic problems. Furthermore, phase-synchronisation effects will be presented and their dependencies to the set of network parameters will be investigated.
