The district is bounded on the north by Jessore and Narail districts, on the east by Bagerhat district, on the south by the Bay of Bengal and on the west by Satkhira district. The total area of the district is 4389.11 sq km. of which 607.80 sq km is riverine and 2028.22 sq km. is under forest. Khulna district constitutes 2.97% of the area of the country. In respect of area, it ranks 1st among the 10 districts in Khulna division and 4th among the 64 districts of the country. Latitude and longitude coordinates are: 22.820000, 89.550003.

Dimla Upazila due to its geo-physical position and socio-economic context, is highly prone to
regular natural hazards. Dimla, being a flood-prone area, exacerbates the vulnerabilities
experienced by women due to pre-existing inequalities. Socio-economic factors such as limited
access to resources, education, and employment opportunities further compound their
vulnerability. This study aims to analyze the specific challenges and vulnerabilities faced by
women during flooding events to examine the socio-economic conditions that contribute to
women's vulnerability to flooding, to explore the coping mechanisms and resilience strategies
adopted by women in areas prone to flooding. Data from both primary and secondary sources were
gathered. Field level surveys provided the primary data, while secondary data came from the texts
books, national and international journals, publications, newspapers, websites and others published
and unpublished documents of governments and non-government. The women are more
vulnerable to natural disaster than men. Women’s physical vulnerability, low level of education,
liability to family, clothing pattern and lack of awareness are responsible for increasing the
vulnerability of them during flood. The literacy rate is very low so the people don’t have deep
knowledge about the adaptation measures of flood. The study includes that providing skills
training, mentorship opportunities and low-interest finance to enable women diversify incomes
into non-farm industries, constructing durable flood shelters equipped with emergency supplies,
daycare facilities, healthcare should must be addressed

This comprehensive study delves into the taxonomical classification and anatomical intricacies of
Saccharum spontaneum, the wild progenitor species of cultivated sugarcane, unveiling a tapestry
of insights that hold profound implications for sugarcane improvement and sustainable agricultural
practices. Through thorough taxonomic investigation, the systematic location of S. spontaneum
has been solidly anchored within the grass family Poaceae, subfamily Panicoideae, tribe
Andropogoneae, and genus Saccharum, clarifying its evolutionary ancestry and phylogenetic
relationships. The morphological characterisation thoroughly documented the characteristic traits
of this perennial grass, including its imposing culms, broad leaf ornamented with serrated borders,
and the exquisite architecture of its terminal panicle inflorescence. The anatomical research
disclosed a treasure trove of structural marvels underpinning S. spontaneum's exceptional
endurance and adaptability across multiple ecological settings. The fibrous root structure,
supplemented by adventitious outgrowths, shows an intelligent approach for maximum resource
acquisition. The culm anatomy, with its reinforced epidermis, cortex saturated with
sclerenchymatous bands, and conspicuous pith reservoir, orchestrates a harmonic balance of form
and function. The neatly formed vascular bundles promote efficient nutrition transfer. The leaf
anatomy boasts features for optimal photosynthesis and water conservation, including a leafrolling mechanism helped by bulliform cells, distinct mesophyll tissue for gaseous exchange, and
a dense stomatal distribution.

The purpose of the study was to assess existing waste management system, and finally
suggested a proper management system in the study area. Every day, massive amounts of
solid garbage are generated in these area, yet waste management is inadequate due to their
sporadic waste management activities and unconsciousness. A total of 50 responses were
collected through a standardized questionnaire from the Narail Municipality. Informal
meetings with municipality employees, authorities, and others were also held to learn more
about the current management system. Maximum household generated organic waste at
about 55% and more than 5 kg waste produced per day respectively 31%. The vast majority
of individuals dispose of their solid waste in their immediate environment, posing a variety
of health and environmental risks. Improper waste management can be controlled by
ensuring that waste management are completed on time, raising public awareness, and
improving waste treatment. It was revealed from the study that due to lack of people
knowledge about solid waste management, lack of awareness and lack of proper solid waste
treatment plant etc. The total solid waste system required following the recommendations,
which included creating awareness, developing environmental knowledge, and involving
CBOs public in this process

This eco-friendly home gives us an eco-friendly environment for a better life lead. Day by day our environment is polluted by humans and nature. In the past, No one can be awarded the environment but in late 1970, people faced various environmental disasters. Then environmental scientists took some steps for a better environment. They took some rules and regulations for all countries in the world. Bangladesh is developing daily but we cannot have proper knowledge about the environment. Because when we care about our environment, our environment will be better for future generations. In this sector, an Eco-friendly home is a new thing for us. It helps us to build a good environment.
