Major Research Interests:  Neurotransmission in the brain of experimental animals, via studying the quantitative analysis and metabolism of neurotransmitters, especially amino acids, in relation to a variety psychotropic drugs and physical factors.  Preparation and establishing animal models, like reserpine-model of depression and pilocarpine-model of epilepsy in adult and developing animals.  Micro-neurochemical analysis via different chromatographic techniques, including paper, thin-layer and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).  Implantation of electrodes and cannulas in animal brain for freely-moving animal experimentation. 2  Recording, analysis, and interpretation of brain electrical signals (electroencephalogram; EEG).  Recording, analysis, and interpretation of acoustic (and speech) signals in vocalizing animals and human subjects.  Evaluation of some drugs affecting the central nervous system, and studying its mechanism of action in view of changes in the behavior in neurotransmitters.  Resear h a d De elop e t R & D i the area of No el Drug Dis o ery .
