The political world of that community was crossed in the first decades of the twentieth century by a character imprinting: Pedro Diaz Pumara. During the first part of his political career, the support received from newspapers like La Nación and El Día was crucial to legitimize the position of Don Pedro in the municipality. Since 1917, the importance of local media was increasing; in its pages we can study the tensions between government and opposition. We consider throughout this work that the periodical press reflects challenges and expectations of various stakeholders, while their study allows to consider the degree of consolidation leader in the community and its relations with the provincial space.
