The workshops at the 23th conference on User Modeling, Adaptation and Personalization cover broad and exciting topics related to ongoing research in the field. The workshops bring together researchers from a large number of academic institutions across the world.
Twenty papers at four workshops at UMAP 2015 highlight the impact of different factors such as learning environments and health on user modeling. At the same time, the workshops attempt to discuss new challenges in the field such as language understanding and analytics in the the context of social networks, learning and personalization in MOOCs as well as traditional learning environments, government services in the world of smart cities, and the needs of healthcare professionals in the modern personalized e-health landscape.
Poster and demonstration papers contain innovative research ideas, preliminary results, industry showcases, and system prototypes, addressing both the theory and practice of User Modelling, Adaptation and Personalization.
Similarly to poster and demonstration papers, late-breaking results contain innovative research ideas, preliminary results, industry showcases, and system prototypes. In addition, some papers introduce recently started research projects or summarize project results.
