English: The Martin Baltimore was a medium bomber of the Second World War. Originally it was to be named Martin A-23, a designation reserved for a larger version of the Martin XA-22 Maryland. The U.S. Army Air Corps was not interested in the A-23 design, but the British Government purchased or received more than 1,000 aircraft under Lend-Lease. The aircraft was designated Model 187 by Martin and named Baltimore by the Royal Air Force. The USAAF bought aircraft intended for Lend-Lease under the designation A-30 and only kept some for non-combat duties under reverse Lend-Lease agreements.
