English: An ox (a word inherited by English from Germanic) is a neutered / castrated male cattle-beast. A bullock is a neutered male cattle-beast. Most English-speaking countries prefer to use bullock for draught animals

Oxen / Bullocks are much stronger than horses and very much slower so, in general, their commercial use is restricted to drawing heavy goods vehicles (this does not prohibit an ox from towing a baby-carriage — if that's what is wanted)

Distinguishing main types of ox-drawn vehicles:

  • Wagon: heavy four-wheeled vehicle, used for transport of goods
  • Cart: heavy two-wheeled vehicle, used for transport of goods see category:ox-drawn carts
  • Sleigh: skidded vehicle, used on snow
  • Travois: no wheels, dragged on the ground.
