Biology

[edit]

A good use of this template are biological categories like Category:Coccoidea when there is a Category:Unidentified Coccoidea.

Is it possible to add an extra parameter like biology=yes which would change the wording to "...for photos of unidentified species see .."? The "Galleries" part could be removed at the same time.

Ignored and creates clutter

[edit]

This template should be modified to remove the imposing banner which is ignored and creates clutter. The Category:Categories requiring permanent diffusion to zero is sufficient but then a template is not really needed? Responsible editors will use Category:Categories requiring permanent diffusion to zero. Alan Liefting (talk) 01:27, 11 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A category is not really suitable for getting people’s attention, this is what the banner is for. There’s no such thing that “responsible editors”, anyone can contribute – but only if they know that there’s something to be done. —Tacsipacsi (talk) 00:44, 14 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"Files should be in a parent or subcategory."

[edit]

@Docu: Please clarify the "Files should be in a parent or subcategory." part of the template. Can you provide an example category which should use this template and explain which categories a file should be categorized in instead? Chealer (talk) 11:59, 5 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Difference with {{MetaCat}} and {{ValiCat}}

[edit]

@Docu, @Railwayfan2005: Please clarify the nuances between {{CatCat}}, {{MetaCat}} and {{ValiCat}}. In which circumstances should each one be preferred over the others? Chealer (talk) 12:20, 5 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
