To be sure, Nietzsche pretends to protest against the modern tendency of reducing art to the categories of “appearance” and “beauty”, a tendency that does not explain sufficiently not only the genesis of the work of art, but also the structure of the aesthetic “fact” as a whole, with its possible “effects”. In this sense, starting with the analysis of The birth of tragedy, it is feasible to outline a radical problematization of crucial topics for the aesthetic tradition, since, through the un-substantial, un-teleological dualism of the Apollonian and the Dionysian, the philosopher would be proposing a new “logic”, a “de-potentiation” or “depotentiating self-reflection” (Menke) that undermines the metaphysical foundation upon which the “pleasure on the beautiful appearance” takes seat. In the frame of the polemics with the “concept” and the intellectual mediation, which the author inherits from the first German romanticism and Schopenhauer, it would be a matter of focusing the appearance from the point of view of the “total” experience of art, in which it shows not the determination of a “taste”, but the specificity of another way of “reference” to the world of the aesthetic presentation, capable of functioning as well as symbol of the presentation of the world itself and, therefore, as a “norm” for the man´s doing in it.

Fuerza.
