Miriam Di Penta
Dr Miriam Di Penta has two BA's: one in Political Science (1995) and one in Art History (2001). She studied for a Postgraduate Diploma at The Courtauld Institute of Arts (1997), at the Scuola di Specializzazione in Arte Medievale e Moderna, Università la Sapienza, Rome and obtained her PhD in Art History in 2011. Her research focuses on the Italian Baroque, Art and Sciences in the XVIIth c. and Art Collecting in Italy in the long XVII Century. She has taught Roman Baroque at La Sapienza Università di Roma and at the Courtauld Institute of Arts in London (Summer School ), lectured at many Institutions including University of Rome, Ferrara, Turin, the Fondazione Longhi in Florence and the Fondazione Cini in Venice and has published a number of articles as well as two books: Giovan Battista Spinola, cardinal San Cesareo, collezionista e mecenate di Baciccio (2007) and the monograph of Andrea De Leone (2016).
Since 2014 she’s active as a dealer in Old Master Paintings , exhibiting internationally at Tefaf Maastricht and other prominent fairs, nevertheless she continues researching and publishing in the field of Roman and Neapolitan Baroque.
