The primary objective of the study is to delve into the analysis of tourist flow over the years, revealing both positive and negative trends marked by periods of growth, decline, and subsequent recovery. The article explores the potential of mountain tourism in Nepal, shedding light on the associated challenges. These challenges encompass issues related to tourism regulation, equitable revenue distribution, and the imperative need for environmental conservation. Netnographic data, sourced from reputable secondary outlets such as the National Planning Commission, Tourism Board, Bureau of Statistics Nepal, as well as published journals and dissertations, were collected to comprehensively assess the past and current scenarios of tourism in Nepal. This information was then subjected to descriptive analysis using simple statistical tools and presented in tabular form. Within the discourse, the article conscientiously addresses sensitive issues linked to mountain tourism, including environmental degradation, the specter of over-tourism, cultural insensitivity, and the impact of infrastructure development. Recognizing the urgency of these concerns, the article emphasizes the necessity for embracing sustainability principles and implementing judicious management strategies to effectively mitigate these challenges.

The methodology encompasses qualitative primary research, with a focus on semi-structured, in-depth interviews as the primary data collection method. Grounded theory serves as the guiding approach, emphasizing constant comparison and sensitivity in analyzing responses. The rationale behind selecting Pokhara as the research site lies in its significance as a hub for adventure tourism, facilitated by its accessibility and diverse natural settings. The sample design utilizes purposive sampling, aiming for data saturation and selecting participants based on their proximity to key adventure tourism destinations. Data collection involves both primary and secondary sources, with primary data gathered through open-ended questionnaires, focus group discussions, participant observation, and face-to-face indepth interviews. Ethical considerations are paramount, ensuring confidentiality, respect, and neutrality throughout the research process. Data analysis follows a qualitative approach, incorporating thematic analysis and the Ketso method to identify patterns and themes related to adventure tourism activities, opportunities, challenges, and policies in Pokhara. In conclusion, this research contributes to understanding the dynamics of adventure tourism in Pokhara, offering insights into stakeholders' perspectives and informing future strategies and policies in the tourism sector.
