OneSearch @ CSULB: About

About OneSearch @ CSULB

OneSearch

... is a discovery tool that allows you to search most everything the CSULB Library owns or has access to - through one simple platform. It includes:

  • our local CSULB library items
  • items from all the other CSU campuses which you can borrow
  • articles from online journals
  • streaming audio and video content
  • digital repositories from universities, museums, and open-access archives around the world

... discovers and delivers academic content to your desktop. Results from OneSearch include materials that have been reviewed and selected for academic libraries. When searching OneSearch, you are more likely to retrieve credible, authoritative, and suitable resources for your academic work.

... solves the problem of not knowing where to start. It retrieves material of all different kinds (books, articles, films, government documents, etc.) on your topic and ranks the results according to relevancy for easy browsing. You can also limit your results in many ways.

Keep in mind ...

OneSearch searches most but not all things for which the library has access. Some database content may not be included.

In-depth or comprehensive research is better done in subject specific databases.

If you're searching for a particular title or works by a particular author, the advanced search will be your best search option.
