Worldwide, 71% of the rural population has access to improved water supply and 38% has access to improved sanitation. Bangladesh faces multiple challenges in the sanitation, hygiene and water sectors. According to the Joint Monitoring Report (WHO & UNICEF, 2012), latrine coverage stood at 56% by 2012, while the proportion of the population with access to safe water was about 81%. Moreover, in spite of concerted efforts to provide safe water, it is estimated that 25 to 30 million people are affected by arsenic contamination in drinking water. The main objective of this study was to assess the water supply and sanitation situation in the village of Dewanpur, a rural village in Chittagong, Bangladesh. By conducting an assessment one can determine water supply and sanitation coverage of this area and identify water supply and sanitation problems in the village and then propose solutions to improve water supply and sanitation coverage. This paper states the same purpose here.

and efficient city management, the growth pattern analysis of the city is a pre requisite. Urban expansion is a dynamic process and is a difficult task to create a uniform growth pattern model. At
the same time for developing new strategies it is necessary to sort out the present land use state
and also figure out some locations for future expansion. But for this a huge scale of data is required with efficient maintenance system. Chittagong, the port city of Bangladesh has vast opportunity to become tycoon in the tourism and industrial sector of South Asia. But it is a pity that it
doesn’t have any growth pattern analysis for future development. The aim of this paper is to develop a map referring to the growth pattern and direction of the city according to the growth pole
and growth centers of the city and create a map containing the existing land use of the city. Identification of some locations for future residential area development by secondary source data is also
a goal of this paper. For developing an overall sustainable city development policy these data are
must for the efficiency and functionality of those policies.

But for better service it is necessary to maintain a uniform LOS level on a single road. But sometimes it differs from link to link due to various factors which ultimately decrease the functionality of the road. This paper discusses about such a road, port connecting Bahaddarhat to CEPZ road which maintain quite a different LOS level in two separate links. Not only that it discusses the level of difference and also the factors which are responsible for such LOS difference between two links. All the data that are used for this paper are collected through field survey.

Very few countries of the world have such natural beauties like Bangladesh. Chittagong, the port city of Bangladesh and is the hub of these natural attractions. It is a division where you can find sea, hill, river, dighi(a large and deep tank or pond)what not! Moreover, Chittagong has archaeological, natural, ecological, cultural and other tourism products to attract tourists[1]. Tourism has considered as the world’s largest and rapid growing industry of modern business world. It can play a vital influence on economic development of the city. However, this industry, in our country, fails to reach its destination due to inadequate marketing practices. This paper is about the problem, strength, constraint and possibilities of the Chittagong city and its surrounding area to become a eco tourist hub and also provides some ideas to develop the present state of the city to convert it into an eco-tourist hub of Bangladesh[2]. For this the potentiality of this city of being a tourist hub is at first analyzed following the standard given by UN and after that through SWOT analysis the present state of Chittagong is analyzed. Finally, some proposals comprising the tourism development of Chittagong with a proposed outline of an individual development plan is provided.
