Spatial virtual keyboard for wand based virtual reality

Published: 16 October 2017 Publication History

Abstract

We propose a virtual keyboard for virtual environments using tracked controllers that users interact with spatially. Based on how users interact with touch screen keyboards, users move their controller into the volume of a key. Input on the controller acts as a quick, discreet confirmation of button selection. The keyboard can be adjusted in size and distance for user comfort.
