Design of a novel ultra-wideband antenna with six notches

Published: 03 May 2024 Publication History

Abstract

A new ultra-wideband antenna with six-trap baud is proposed, with dimensions of only 28mm24mm1.6mm. The antenna is composed of a new pot-shaped radiation patch and an improved ground floor, which have good six-notch characteristics and miniaturization characteristics, and the final working bandwidth is 2.7∼16 GHz. In order to make the antenna meet the notch characteristics in the WIMAX (3.3∼3.6 GHz), part of the C-band (3.7∼4.2 GHz), international satellite band (4.5∼4.8 GHz), WLAN (5.15∼5.825 GHz), INSAT Band (6.77∼7.32 GHz), and International Telecommunication Union (8.01∼8.5 GHz), The notch processing is performed by slotting and adding branches on the radiation patch of miniaturized ultra-wideband antennas. The simulation results show that the antenna is greater than -10 dB in the frequency bands of 2.85∼3.4 GHz, 3.55∼4.0 GHz, 4.25∼4.81 GHz, 5.15∼5.825 GHz, 6.15∼6.72 GHz, and 7.73∼8.55 GHz, which effectively suppresses the interference of six narrow bands for signal transmission and can be widely used in UWB communication applications with ultra-wideband characteristics. The miniaturization feature and six-notch feature can also meet the application requirements of a variety of ultra-wideband communication systems.
