Tunable robust compensator design for an adaptive optics system

Published: 29 December 2008 Publication History

Abstract

Adaptive Optics is a developing technology, which is commonly used in ground-based astronomical telescopes. To achieve high-resolution imaging of targets in space, it is of key importance to reduce the effects of atmospheric turbulence by operating a deformable mirror. Various computer control approaches have been applied to overcome this problem. In this paper, we propose a simple and tunable robust controller design for an AO system. Simulation and experimental results are presented demonstrating the efficiency of the proposed design.
