Natural language query processing for life science knowledge

Published: 28 August 2010 Publication History

Abstract

As the progress of life science, human knowledge about life science keeps increased and diversified. To effectively access the diverse and complex knowledge base, people need to cope with complex representation of desired knowledge pieces. As a potential solution to the problem, we propose a natural language query processing system which can be used to build a human-friendly question-answering system. In this position paper, we present the background, an initial design, and a preliminary investigation of the natural language query processing.
