Abstract

On behalf of the Program Committee, we are very pleased to welcome you to the 17th Annual ACM International Conference on Supercomputing. ICS is the premier technical forum on high-performance systems research. This year's conference has an attractive technical program that features two outstanding keynote talks from Louis Christodoulides (Vodafone) and James E. Smith (University of Wisconsin-Madison). The program also includes eleven technical sessions and a panel discussion. This year's large number of submissions has allowed the selection of very high quality papers for inclusion in the conference. Each submitted paper was rigorously reviewed by at least three members of the Program Committee (the vast majority of them were reviewed by four) with, in some cases, valuable input provided by external reviewers. The Program Committee met in San Francisco on March 29th, 2003 and selected 36 of the 171 submissions for presentation. We are very grateful to the members of the Program Committee for their outstanding work and to the external reviewers that assisted the Program Committee members.
