Bo Chen

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science, Michigan Technological University (MTU). I am Directors of MTU Security and Privacy (SnP) lab and MTU ICC Center for Cybersecurity. I also serve as MTU Point of Contact (PoC) of National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Research (CAE-R), designated by the National Security Agency (NSA). My research focus lies on applied cryptography and data security. I have been actively tackling security and privacy problems in Embedded Systems, Internet of Things (IoT), Cyber Physical Systems (CPS), Cloud Computing, etc. I am a Fellow of EAI (European Alliance for Innovation), a Senior Member of ACM (Association for Computing Machinery), and a Senior Member of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). I have received the MTU Rath Research Award (2024), the MTU Research Excellence Fund Award (2020), and three Best Paper Awards at EAI AC3 (2021), ACSAC (2017), and ACM CODASPY (2013).
