Mahdi Fahmideh

My research focuses on creating new-to-the-world IT artefacts that help organisations to tackle problems. I am a result-oriented scholar and my research outcomes, which focus on the effective development of Internet-based distributed computing systems, can be in the form of Information Systems Development Methodologies, Decision Making Frameworks, Conceptual Models, and Software Tools. My research outcomes have attracted funds and appeared in top-tier journals based ranking systems of ERA CORE, Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC), Scimago Journal & Country Rank, and Senior Basket of Eight (Bo8) Journals. This includes international venues such as IEEE Transaction on Software Engineering (TSE), ACM Computing Surveys (CSUR), European Journal of Information System (EJIS), IEEE Transactions on Service Computing (TSC), Information Sciences, Information Systems, Information and Software Technology (IST), Journal of Systems and Software (JSS), Software and Systems Modelling (SoSyM), and Journal of Computers and Industrial Engineering, and others. From a research methodology perspective, I embrace the value of methodological pluralism and I utilize both quantitative approaches (e.g., surveys, statistical analysis) and qualitative approaches (e.g., interpretive case study, interview, and domain expert review). To continue with my philosophy of methodological pluralism, I have subscribed to applying multi-method studies in Design Science Research Methodologies. I am also a seasoned Software Engineering researcher and applied data scientist interested in solving highly complex and difficult problems, especially in the intersection of Empirical Software Engineering. My work bridges the gap between research and best practice. This stems from my 8 years of industry experience as a C++/C# Analyst Programmer in the design, implementation, and integration of enterprise systems for different industry sectors such as accounting, insurance, and defence with measurable financial revenues. I have developed my experience in academic research and teaching with the demonstrated ability to work both independently and as an integral part of a team. As my research is transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary, I enjoy collaborating with a great number of erudite scholars in a variety of fields and developing information systems based on domain requirements.
