The air-teapot

Published: 30 July 2006 Publication History

Abstract

People say seeing is believing but the Air-Teapot has us questioning whether we can trust our eyes. By tapping with the tea-spoon we can feel and hear a teapot in the space in front of us, but there is nothing to be seen but a teapot-stand. The Air-Teapot challenges our reliance upon sight to understand the world we live in, and rebels against the visual dominance of computer interfaces. Where better to foment revolution in a teapot than Boston! Revealing secrets and sharing memories from its past, this is a teapot with character that convinces you there is more to the world than meets the eye.
