SWIT: an open-source web-based database management system with indexing engine integration

Published: 10 September 2008 Publication History

Abstract

There are currently a considerable number of digital libraries using XML documents to describe their resources. In this paper, we describe a database solution which integrates an XML native database and a search engine to improve query performance. A web based management application is also presented which allows local and remote administration of the database.
