  • Abstract

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a new fancy and up growing technology. VoIP offers interactive communications. Internet provides infinite number of services to the globe. VoIP differs from conventional circuit switched networks. It allows people to communicate with each other at very low rates. The transmission of Real time voice data is not as easy as ordinary text data. The real time voice transmission faces lot of difficulties. It suffers from packet loss, delay and quality. The packet loss affects and degrades the performance and quality of a VoIP. This paper addresses packet loss recovery using voice Multiplex and Multicast (Voice M-M) scheme. This scheme is suitable for interactive voice communications. This work focuses on packet loss recovery by interleaving method. The obtained results show that the performance and the quality of a VoIP were improved better.
