Area diversity in computer science collaborations

Published: 26 March 2012 Publication History

Abstract

The contribution of this paper is to look at the diversity of areas of computer science fields in paper collaborations. To study collaborations, we have collected publication information from the Association for Computing and Machinery (ACM) Digital Library and modelled the collaborations as a social network. We have studied the community structure of these collaborations and discovered that multidisciplinary characteristics of communities only weakly correlate to a higher number of citations per paper or publications per authors in those communities.
