Helping visually impaired people use smart phones in education: content retrieval with fingerprint identification

Published: 01 October 2015 Publication History

Abstract

The paper proposes an architecture for content retrieval with smart phones, by exploiting fingerprint identification, in order to help visually impaired people to use educational material in electronic format. Use cases and design specifications are presented, and implementation details are discussed. The proposed architecture can be implemented as a standalone application fairly simply, or it can constitute the basis for further, more sophisticated frameworks.
