Impact of Peer Instruction and Instructional Scaffolding on a Programming Course

Published: 27 September 2017 Publication History

Abstract

Peer instruction and instructional scaffolding were utilized in the first programming course attempted by the IT majors at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) with the expectations of enhancing student learning and improving retention. This poster details our pedagogical approach along with example quiz and programming exercise artifacts, initial student performance and survey results during Spring 2017 (S17) deployment.
