Performance of Containerized Database Management Systems

Published: 15 June 2018 Publication History

Abstract

Cloud computing is heavily used by enterprises. Business applications are loaded into containers and executed in private, public or hybrid clouds. In contrast to commonly found stateless containerized services, database management systems need persistent storage and precise control over available resources. This paper describes the resource management and resulting performance properties of containerized databases.
