Traffic Flow Models Simulation with Measured Traffic Data

Published: 25 April 2018 Publication History

Abstract

In order to achieve a complete insight in the car-following models, several typical car-following models such as Optimal velocity model, Generalized force model, Optimal velocity model with reaction-time delay and Full speed difference model are evaluated by using real data in this paper. The measured data is first used to fit parameters included in these models, and then the models with fitted parameters are evaluated by using not only the uncongested traffic data but also congested traffic data. It can be seen that Full speed difference model can depict the real velocity change accurately.
