Analysis of the Impact of Pneumonia Epidemic on Employment and Countermeasures in COVID-19 from the Perspective of International Comparison

Abstract

The spread of pneumonia in COVID-19 has had an obvious impact on the economic development of major countries in the world, and unemployment has also emerged in large numbers, with the unemployment rate rising rapidly in various countries. Due to the need of epidemic prevention, many countries have adopted measures of home isolation and even city closure to varying degrees. Although these measures have been proved to be effective in blocking the spread of virus, they are also at the expense of certain economic development. Under the impact of the epidemic, the uncertain factors of workers entering and leaving the labor market increase, and the employment problems of fresh graduates, people with employment difficulties and people in areas with severe epidemic are the first to bear the brunt. Although the impact of novel coronavirus pneumonia on employment is short-term, it is more serious and complex than the SARS epidemic in 2003. The main reason is that the employment pattern and employment pattern have undergone profound changes. Based on the comparative analysis of the Countermeasures of various countries, this paper summarizes the main points and rules, and puts forward targeted employment protection policies in combination with the specific situation of China.
