Redundant Normalization Algorithm to Estimate the Direction of Arrival of Nested MIMO Radar

Published: 31 December 2021 Publication History

Abstract

Nested MIMO radar expands the radar aperture by forming a "sum-difference coarray", thereby improving the accuracy of DOA estimation. However, in the process of forming a "sum-difference coarray", more redundant data is generated. The traditional processing method is to eliminate redundant data, which causes data loss and affects the effect of DOA estimation. To solve this problem, this section proposes a redundancy normalization algorithm based on nested MIMO radar. The algorithm can make full use of redundant data and improve the accuracy of DOA estimation.
