Research on Applications of AI in Wireless Network

Published: 02 March 2023 Publication History

Abstract

An excellent foundation for Artificial intelligence (AI)-driven services is provided by 5G network's improvements in terms of user volume, end-to-end latency, and connection density. The existing research work shows that AI has important application potential in modeling, learning, channel prediction, intelligent signal generation and processing, network status tracking and intelligent scheduling, network optimization deployment and many other aspects, which is expected to promote the evolution of the future communication paradigm and has significant impacts for 6G technology research. This paper introduces the AI/ML based systems and platforms in mobile communication networks, and expounds its existing research directions from the perspectives of core network, Operation Administration and Maintenance (OAM), and Radio Access Network (RAN). Then through the research for network AI of various international standards organizations, the application layer intelligent system and the key technologies of AI model life cycle management are introduced respectively. Finally, the prospect of building an intelligent endogenous 6G network with AI technology is presented.
